Hi everyone,
Any help here is appreciated.. I have a moto 360 v2, had it for about 5 months and gave up on it a few months back because it was so laggy and glitchy.
Got it out again a week ago, thinking maybe new updates or whatnot would get it up to speed, and having the same results.
The watch was unresponsive 80% of the time, and spent most of its time flipping in between awake and dimmed, so I turned off AOD as suggested in other posts (although it should have been fixed as I am on the recent firmware?). I also turned off the "lift wrist" wakeup gesture. Now if I touch the screen or press the side button, it usually turns the screen on and then instantly back off. If I can get it to stay on I can open notifications about 50% of the time, the other 50% the screen is unresponsive. Lastly, if the side button opens the apps its a miracle, and I can scroll through the apps briefly before becoming unresponsive.
I've tried factory reset and the above two fixes.
I just tried recovery mode, but the screen doesnt work in recovery mode so I can't swipe between options..
I have emailed Motorola but haven't heard back yet.
I'd love for this device to work well, as it seems like a great device, but its basically unusable atm.
Any help/suggestions would be great!
Thanks

Hey guys, i have some problems that i hope somebody can help with. My phone isnt rooted, basically out of the box stock, but ive had it since the day it came out. So shes got some time on her.
It was working perfectly till about a day ago. Then all of a sudden the screen would not stay off for more than a second. I would push the lock button and it would turn off, but the lighted buttons (home, back, etc) would stay lit. Then the screen would turn back on a second later. But i found that if i push the lock button and immediately push it again, the lighted buttons will also turn off and the screen will stay off. If i hold the lock button it will just flash the menu with the options to power off options (airplane mode, silent mode, etc..), but immediately disappear. But if i hold the lock button till just before that menu would pop up, it wont always disappear.
Also sometimes when i try to open any app it will close automatically, popping up with a recent apps menu that ive never actually seen before. I can push back and the menu will go away and i can try to open the app again. Usually successful the second time.
And last my battery life has gone down the drain. It went from fully charged to empty in about 7 hours. It used to last much longer. The screen might be on in my pocked, so that could be the problem, but i try to check it often to see if its on.
Just hoping that someone will know if this is a hardware or software problem. The phone was perfect in the morning, and a few hours later the problems started.
I have android version 2.2.1, froyo i believe.
Any help will be really appreciated. Sorry for the long post, just trying to be specific.
So.. I was at the bar last night and had a weird issue appear.
Every time I turned on my screen (didn't matter whether I knocked or used the power button) it would flick on then immediately flick back off. I could not get my screen to stay on!
I did this about a dozen times then decided to try a reboot. Once the phone booted back up the screen worked fine again and the issue hasn't returned.
Anyone else have this happen to them? It reminds me of the power button issue I had with my last phone (SG II i727).
Only time my phone does this is when the proximity sensor is covered (thinks the phone is in your pocket.) Not sure what would cause your glitch, but hopefully a first step toward why it happened.
DELETED!
Hi guys, I bought a new zenwatch and am experiencing a weird issue. Occasionally, when the watch is in ambient mode, it is not responsive to touch. I turned off wrist gestures to wake up the device, and need to tap it to wake up. Sometimes I tap it and nothing happens at all, it stays in ambient mode. Pressing the power button at the back will wake up the device and it will function normally. It is just slightly annoying to have to press the power button which is on the back a few times a day. Any input to why this might be happening is appreciated.
I have the same problem, but sadly no solution. I've had the watch since Jan and it only recently started doing it, last month or so
At least its good to know I'm not the only one, probably a software bug.
Mine does that occasionally. I find that rotating it back and forth a couple of times (even though Tilt to Wake is switched off) before touching the screen clears it.
Mine did that just a little while ago. I do still have tilt to wake turned on, though, and after waking once that way, it's back to responding to taps now.
Also, selecting a different watchface from the phone seems to clear it.
Pretty sure it has something do to with the latest update. Maybe they are using more aggressive power saving settings on the cpu governor, making it take longer to ramp up clock speed and be responsive.
Hey there
Had the phone since release
Started with this problem yesterday. It's random, the notification bar pulls down and pulls back up within a second. Sometimes it doesn't release, I have to press power button to enable me to use the phone.
I switched on "show taps" in developer options, and it appears to be a screen press from the top centre of the phone. Only from there.
I've tried replacing the screen protector, tried cleaning the phone, power cycles... I've not tried a factory reset at this point, would need to back everything up.
On 8.1
I'm at my wits end
Thanks in advance
Do you have a case installed? Sometimes phone cases trigger phantom touches on the display.
I do, since day one.
Took it off and still get same problem
I'd use a screen capture app to show the phantom touches that's keeping you from releasing the notification bar and contact Support at this point. But yeah, you should begin backing up your data.
try to use the developer menu -> show touches and see if it's software or hardware related
....actually i have been getting random, backspaces key presses.....i am typing away, and than I will sense the "phantom" key press the backspace, and look as my message get completely deleted. Never happened before, same case/same screen protector from DAY1....I just restart my phone, but still wear. happened twice since OREO update
Boot into safe mode and then turn off and start up.
Fixed my menu bar issues.
Hi folks!
I've got a very weird issue with my P-600!
Yesterday, I noticed a dark area in the left corner on the bottom of the screen.
At first, I thought a LED line was dead on the backlight panel. No surprises, it's a 10 years old device...
To confirm that, I rebooted the device expecting to get the same issue (dark corner anyway, anytime) but it became even more "bizarre": after getting into system again, the dark spot was gone but the device was unable to revive the screen after going into sleep mode.
No matter if the screen was put into sleep by inactivity time-out or by pressing the power button, when the screen became black, it stayed black.
But with apps still running in background: for exemple Spotify was still playing music.
The only way to get the screen on back again, was to force a reboot by keeping the power button pressed down.
After reading many posts here and on other sites, I found some talking about the "Android Black Screen Of Death" and some tutorials on how to fix it on Samsung devices. So I opened my Tab, unlocked all flat cables, waited 10 minutes or so and then reconnected everything.
Well, it did it but only partially: now I'm a in quite "mixed" and unexplainable situation.
The screen works again, I can put my Tab to sleep and get it on again just pushing the power buton.
BUT...
The dark area in the left corner comes back again, only after sleep mode!
If I reboot the device, the screen is perfectly enlighted in all its surface, but it will get again that dark spot in the corner after screen sleep. What the heck... ?
So it's not clear for me how to definitely fix it.
Should I replace the entire screen? The flat cables? The battery?
Any help to understand what's going on will be greatly appreciated!
