Nillkin Magic Disk 4 Wireless Charger - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Accessories

Hello,
I just bought the above charger yesterday and made a little unboxing video.
The charger is very stylish and can fast charge the phone but only using the charging brick that came with the phone.
It can be used as a nice night light as well.
I paid £21.99 for it.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Please don't kill me, I am not used to making videos...
Unboxing

It's pretty but something isn't clear (to me)... If you press the power button when charging does it stop charging or does it only control the color of the light (meaning can you turn off the light and keep charging?) Does it do fast charging?
Is this the same Nillkin that makes the screen protectors?

When the phone is not on it, you can press the button to turn on the light. If you put the phone on it, it will start charging regardless. So the button only controls the light.
When the phone is on, the light will be blue. Pressing the button will turn the light off, so it won't wake you up overnight (it is not that bright anyway).
It does fast charging, but I messed up the video using a standard 5V 2.4A charger. Later on, I connected it to the Samsung charging brick and it did do fast charging.
Yes, it is the same Nillkin.

I like the unboxing mate but You are wrong about fast charge. Pad is only kinda medium, and fast charge still depends on charger. Yes I see the disclaimer but still i'm trying to make it clear.

Does it getting hotter when fast wireless charging? is there any built in fan anyway?

Nilkin 4 wireless charge problems no fast charge text appear
I have a problem too, use disck nilikn 4 and cable from box and head adaptor from original box samsung s9 but when it charge only charge text appear, no text fast charge appears, anybody can help what did i wrong thx

Flashing orange light, here's one reason.

So I got a flashing orange light on my EVO tonight when I plugged it in to charge, phone was dead, wouldn't turn on, dead battery. That's one reason you get a flashing orange light, a completely dead battery, just plug it in and let it sit for a bit and it will get a solid orange light. I advise waiting 20min or so then turning it on.
Side note, car chargers don't always have the power so you can use your phone while it's charging when the battery is really low, had it plugged it and was using it for an hour + and it still died

There are car chargers you can get that will charge the same as your wall charger. Read it and see if it says 1000mA.. There are also adapters that plug into 2 usb ports at 500mA equaling 1000 when charging your phone. Most car usb port chargers have 2 slots or more so its possible. You can also use the adapter method on your computer to receive the full 1000mA charge.
I'm using my palm pre car charger (original). I was streaming Pandora n checking my Facebook and it charged till it was full (green light n all)

Mine charger works for my car, but my moms has a usb port built into the car and that's the one that wouldn't keep my phone alive.

My EVO Shift completely discharged and when I plugged it in to recharge it, I got the same problem - amber light would flash 3 or 4 times then stop, it would not charge and not turn on. I removed the battery for 10min. With the battery removed I plugged in the USB cable into the computer and phone, pressed the power button, unplugged the USB, pressed the power button again, replaced the battery, plugged in the USB and the amber light went solid and appears to be charging now.
BTW, I'm posting this because the OP's solution of plugging "it in and let it sit for a bit" didn't work, it was plugged into the wall adapter all night and didn't charge. I could only get it to do so using the steps above. cheers.
If you happen to be near a Sprint store and the "let it charge for about 20 minutes until solid orange" didn't work, take your battery to them. They can boost it on their battery machine. I see a lot of customers just for this very reason.

I've had my EVO for just a few days and I got the abrupt shut down followed by flashing amber light also. The phone was charging off the usb of my laptop at the time. When i unplugged the phone the light turned off and the phone would not turn on. I thought I fried it because I did not know what flashing amber meant. What was strange about it was that not only did I not receive the usual "battery is nearing 15%, please plug in" notification but the phone powered off when I was reading an article about things to do to prolong battery life. Anyway, I proceeded to charge the phone from an outlet and now things seem to be fine.
I am having a similar problem with my HTC Incredible 2 on verizon. Last night it was charging just fine, and when I woke up this morning it was off and it won't turn on or do anything. I can plug it in and if I hold the battery it will flash the orange light a few times but it always stops. I've tried the fixes in this thread and nothing...what can I do?
It was still almost half way charged when I feel asleep last night so the battery wouldn't have run down. The only thing I'm worried about is if the charger did something to the battery but it seems unlikely as its a charger I've used often.

When the amber light is blinking, it basically means charging, but there is not enough turn on voltage to power on the device. If you were previously charging it > remove the battery for 5 minutes > replace it > charge the device on a WALL outlet, NOT a usb charging, i.e. computer, tv, xbox, etc. You should be good to go after that.
Well, when I plug it on a wall outlet and always this switching amber LED...
The fact is that this charger is working well with my other phone (HTC Sensation)
I'll try another charger if I found it !
Hello
This happens on my HTC HD2 when it's on the car mount and used as a GPS, and when there's too much sun hitting the device!
I know I should put the device in the shade, but for that, I'd have to buy a new car mount system, annoying...
In my case of desire sv which suddenly died and was "amber blinking", I had to just push the battery a little bit for it to start working again. Until that point of physical battery adjustment, I tried many options for the "amber blink" to go away.
Thank God, the phone is alive. Apparently, as I understand, the amber blink is to indicate that the battery is not present - perhaps. :on't Know::

Flashing Orange Light...

Had about 2% power, had it on charge from the mains (via a blackberry charger) and it suddenly died, now whenever I connect it to the mains or USB port I just get a flashing orange light and can't turn it on - will it eventually turn solid orange? A lot of threads on this for other HTC phones say to remove and reinsert the battery, obviously this isn't an option for the One X so I'm a little worried...
i see flashing orange light when i use blackberry charger or any usb wire of a blackberry... when i use a SAMSUNG CHARGER or any other USB CHARGER i got my solid orange light
yeah, blackberry chargers tend to be lower current, so are no good if they battery is real dead.
use a proper htc charger and it should come back and go solid.

I think it will be ok if you just leave it charging. It sounds like it's protecting the battery from damage until it has a sufficient charge.
Although, on some laptops it is a sign of a dead battery... so I would say give it 30 to 60 mins connected to the charger and see if it fixes itself.
Cheers for your time guys, after about an hour of charging via USB I was able to turn it back on (with 2% battery lol) - I'll make sure not to use a BB charger again, need to find an official one with a decent length lead for the office...
Have this on my sensation a lot, if the battery dies completely the notification light will flash while you charge, this is to basically say its charging, but doesn't have enough charge for a boot, as there is a period during boot where HTC phones don't charge, and boot takes quite a bit of power, leave it 10-15 mins and it will turn on, if it flash orange then green constantly it means its overheating, while over heating you plug it in, it will actually de-charge to save wasted power going round the motherboard allowing the phone to cool down quickly,
Hope I answered your question

[POSSIBLE FIX] Flashing red light - dead phone/inferior USB cables

Today I had my One X happily connected to my pc, just transferring some files over by USB. Then when I wanted to disconnect it, it showed a lot of 'not getting enough current to charge and operate at the same time' messages. Dismissed them all, though it was time to put it on the wall charger, seen it's critical battery status.
Once I disconnected the phone, it immediately powered off and would not come back to life again. It was, however, greeting me with a flashing red light while on the wall charger. No matter what I tried (bootloader, long hold power button, charge it for some time), it remained completely dead.
Now I did get some new micro usb cables from eBay. Very cheap ones. Now I think these are the culprit. Apparently, while in file transfer mode, these cables were unable to provide sufficient current, causing the phone to drain the battery completely. Once I wanted to charge it, it couldn't boot to charger mode due to the battery being completely empty.
Hooking up with the original HTC cable again, it still showed the red flashing light. Exact same behavior. Until I (for the heck of it) tried to bash the power button quickly. It suddenly came back to life again and started charging again through PC.
If you find yourself in the same situation with bad USB leads (something to do with resistance of the cable?) or a red blinking light, try tapping the power button quickly instead of trying to boot into recovery mode. It might save you a postal return and a week or 3. Or your ass, if you rooted it before it stopped charging.
When I had my sensation I had this every now and then. I had to remove the battery to get it to work.. Nice to know that there appears to be something I can do to sort this out if I get this now

It was mentioned that the flashing red (or orange?) meant that the temp was too high.
Just let it cool down, and it will come back.
It definitely wasn't hot. Also, it wasn't flashing orange. Just slowly red.

Someone has also posted
flashing orange - low battery
flashing red - very low battery
It could well be the battery level is considered too low to operate. So to protect the circuit and the battery, the device is not allowed to turn on until it is sufficiently charged.
This is currently (no pun intended) happening to my one x, left it plugged into my pc via the htc usb and got flashing red light after a couple of minutes, after a couple of minutes more it stopped flashing and became a solid red light (a sign it is charging from v low battery from m experience) pressed the power button and voilà its come back on. I can't believe htc would let the device get to such a critical state of battery before powering down, can anyone enlighten me as to why it would do this?
(thinking about it i was showcasing the handset to my apple touting buddy and had 3 pretty heavy apps running, it was a couple of hours after i noticed it had killed itself so i'm guessing they were still draining away the power from the background??)
I'm having the same problem. My phone was off when i got home and it wouldn't turn on (I assume the battery was dead). When I put it on the wall charger the red the red light didn't turn on and my phone wouldn't boot. I tried several chargers and cables and also tried to connect it to my pc. After leaving the phone for a few hours (unplugged) i tried to connect it to my pc again and i got the blinking red light. A few minutes later I decided to plug it into the wall and the red light turned on and now it is working normally.
anyone got an idea why it didn't charge at first?
agree chaging cable fixed my flashing red light problem
Poor quality charging/data cable
A poor quality charging/data cable will also impact the ability to charge the HOX in your car. I have two cars, in one I was using an old Blackberry cable and Griffin charge adapter (1amp output) to charge the phone whilst using Car Dock and navigation software. After trial and error I got the screen brightness correct and the phone charged satisfactorily. I say satisfactorily because I still think any electronic device which is connected to an external power supply of sufficient electrical current should operate and charge at full spec. In my other car (1996 Land Rover Discovery) I was using a cheap ebay charging/data cable. Using the same apps and screen brightness the HOX would lose all charge over about a two hour period. With the same Blackberry cable used in my other car, no problem. Hence the cheap ebay cables are now in the bin.

The HTC-cable isn't that good too. I use a Nokia-charger to charge my HOX. Charging is much quicker. Maybe the HTC--charger (and cable) was crappy but i never touch them, i use the Nokia charger and dito USB cable.
Thank you!

thank you! Thank you! That cheap usb was totally the problem!
Small update.
This problem just happened to me. 1 cord gave me flashing red while plugged into the wall and pc. I switched to my other cable and its charging and functioning normally. Cord was the problem.
I had a similar issue with my one x.
It discharged completely, then when I went to charge it I just got the red blinking light for ages. I left it charging overnight thinking the battery was so low it needed a while to charge enough to be able to switch on.
But in the morning it was still flashing and the phone was very hot, so I thought the battery was blown.
So I came on here and saw a suggestion about holding the power button and the volume down button. It went to the boot menu and said there was not enough power for a factory reset or something, so I selected recovery. I then got a warning icon and the phone switched off again, but this time with a solid red light. A
After a while I was able to turn it back on again.
Hope this helps.
Wellllll
I have the HTC One VX. I know this isn't in the same topic, but since I found the thing that helped/worked here, I thought I should share my experience. So I bought my new phone on Sunday, so it is roughly 5 days old...not even a full week. I charged the phone before I went to bed to roughly 80%. I made sure all apps and what not were turned off and pressed the lock button. I woke up in the morning and checked my phone to see what time it was. Had 78% battery left. I left it on my dresser for roughly 2 hours and when I got back from class, I grabbed my phone to check if I had any messages.
The phone didn't turn on and I didn't even get the flashing orange/red light. So I tried charging it and nothing. I changed wires and nothing. I frantically searched the internet and stumbled upon this forum/thread. I tapped the power button at least 15 times consecutively and the phone barely flashed orange. I tried to plug it in again and rapidly pressed the power button 10 more times and the screen finally turned on. It started charging and I checked the battery life. Somehow, in 2 hours my phone drained itself of 78% battery life when it was on the lock screen (its also set to lock after 15 seconds of inactivity) to the point where it couldn't even turn on.
The phone/battery was not even warm/hot or w/e. It had not touched any water. No idea what caused the immense power drain, but glad it is working. Thank you so much for this help
woops, wrong thread
It happens to me allso in this morning, in my opinion is like this: The phone is turning off when basicly you have a little bit batt (lets say something around 5% max) and its turning off to protect data and is showing to you batt empty. Then it cames a user with a charger connected to a power supply (house charger, car charger or directly to pc's usb). You must use a good usb to micro-usb charger (the original ones are't good usb cables) try to use a Nokia usb to micro-usb cable, This was the first problem most usualy. The second one is to pay a HUGE attention to UC, don't uc'it so much because then the charger board will not charge your batt so well. Keep yours HOX safe and anjoy it. Have a nice day boys and girls.

Charge Indicator?

I was wondering if there was a charge indicator on the new Nexus? I just got it and its completely dead, so i plugged it into charge and nothing is happening and there are no lights anywhere. How long does it take for something to indicate that it is charging to come up?
There isn't an LED but you should get the typical Nexus charging screen. I'd suggest leaving it charging for 10 or 20 min then trying to power it on.
thanks it finally turned on, wish the charger base at least had an LED so i know the outlet is good XD

Daydream, overnight Charging and Quick Flashing green light

I'm suffering a strange problem with my new phone ( D855 on H, unrooted runing stock rom )
I ( like I'm sure a lot of people ) use the LG wireless charger next to my bed to charge my phone over night. I then intern use the phone as an alarm clock with the DayDream app.
So, when I got to bed, I put the phone in silent profile and put it on the charger where after about a minuite ( screen timeout setting ) DayDream starts display the clock.( this is a bit hit an miss but thats a discussion for another day )
My problem happens in the middle of the night ( this morning I noticed it aroungd 4:00am ) where the screen is off and the notification light is quickly flashing green ( the battery is fully charged if thats relevant ) . The phone isn't hot btw and knocking on the screen wakes it and stops the light flashing.
If I remove the phone from the charger and put it back on DayDream refuses to start again. If I manually start DayDream, the clock comes up and runs for a short while before the screen goes off and the grean flashing begins again.
Anyone else experienced this strange problem ?
Thanks
Si
I think the issue is your wireless charger. I believe the problem is DayDream is set to display when charging or docked. Since you are wireless charging, the docked setting doesn't apply. In any case, it appears your charger turns off when the phone is fully charged, thus terminating DayDream. This is actually normal and a lot of chargers behave like this, thus nothing really wrong with your charger. What you may need is a new charger that provides a constant trickle charge. Then DayDream should remain active. If you want to confirm, connect the G3 directly to usb cable charger overnight and retest. I bet you will find that DayDream stays on in this case. I recently purchased and tested Tylt Vu. The Vu does what you would want in this scenario and provide a constant charge even though battery is full. You can see my review here of 2 different chargers (Vu vs. A6). A6 behaves as yours does and Vu provides constant charge.
