H791 unlock - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know if all H791 model phones are factory bootloader/OEM unlocked?
I just ordered mine from a vendor here in Japan and it is H791 which works with all cariers so I'm guessing it's OK but I'm a little worried if the bootloader will screw me. Model is H791

The bootloader is LOCKED. You can unlock it by following Googl's instructions here. You should NOT re-lock your bootloader while running any custom stuff. Only re-lock your bootloader after you've flashed a factory image.

So carriers do not lock these phones permanently like Sony? Good news

Unlocked bootloader - Remove warning

Hi
I unlocked the bootloader when I first got the phone. I am going to sell it soon to make way for the Nexus 6P.
Is it possible to remove the bootloader unlocked warning when the phone first boots up?
Thanks for any advice.

If you're going to sell a device that is bootloader unlocked, you have to tell this the person you're selling it to, since it's no longer covered by the warranty. Don't tell me it is. Currently only the European model is unlockable and here in europe laws and regulations are unified among countries within the EU. I hope you do. Otherwise it's just fraudulent, but that's none of my business.

No, that command does not work on bootloader unlockable devices unless it's a Nexus/OPO/OPT/Huawei/Oppo and some older Motorola devices. etc.

New H811 from China, bootloader unlocked?

There are many listings on ebay for new factory unlocked H811 G4's.
Does anyone know if the bootloader is unlocked on those devices? Are they really SIM unlocked?

Help me buy an H815 that will unlock bootloader

Hello all. I have been reading the forums about the LG G4 and want one of these phones with an unlocked bootloader so I can install custom roms. It seems very difficult and confusing to find one with the right options to unlock. Anyone care to clarify what I need? As far as I can tell, I should be looking for a "factory unlocked H815" which should allow me to access the fastboot option to unlock the bootloader? If thats right, then any factory unlocked H815 from eBay should do it? Also, the H815 is the model that can take up to 2tb of SD card right? Thanks in advance.

Question - factory unlocked H815- will oem bootloader unock etc affect carrier unlock

Simple question but can't really find the answer online.
Bought an H815, no carrier label etc. My ATT sim works in it.
I want to unlock the bootloader (OEM process) root, add TWRP and flash custom ROMS. Will this affect the factory unlocked carrier status?
How is it carrier unlocked btw , at the hardware level or bios type process? I see the H815 comes factory carrier unlocked?
tia
Assuming your phone was purchased sim free, then no, bootloader unlock shouldn't affect it. You can always make a backup with SALT first (bootloader can be locked when you take the backup) so if for whatever reason it does get removed then you can restore it.
Btw, LG's don't support fastboot oem unlock. You need to do it via Official LG bootloader unlock website or UsU (look here in the threads) if your device isn't supported officially - if it is an EU H815 it official should work though.
fr eBay sim free. I'll look into the SALT backup.
I did a bit of work already and signed up as an LG dev and do see the LG website process which I was going to do to start.
So then adding TWRP and a custom rom will not affected the carrier unlock as well?
thanks

Unlocking Bootloader VZ Device but with International Firmware

Hello,
I've got a refurbished Pixel 3 XL with an US VZ Board. The interesting thing is that on this device is the normal variant of the firmware installed without any Verizon stuff. So now I wanted to unlock the bootloader and OEM Unlocking is greyed out. So my thought now is that maybe the device was bootloader unlocked to flash the firmware variant without Verizon stuff and then relocked. Without Verizon firmware there shouldn't be anything blocking OEM Unlocking.
Am I right that I just need to wait about 7 days before I am allowed to enable OEM Unlocking?
Tell me if I'm wrong with something.
Thanks
