Man so I just saw a video review of Droid X over Android Central and the Moto X got 60fps out of the box without any hacks. But with HTC the devs gotta hack it. Yeah yeah I know some peeps would say we don't need 60fps, but hell for me even if I only get 40fps with nova hack, things seem so much smoother.

Yeah, I'm pissed off with my EVO! or I should say HTC!!! I've emailed them about 3 times now and still no reply in regards to the 30 frame rates per second cap. I'm going to wait until the 3rd of July and return my evo and wait for the sprint samsung galaxy version... i read there's going to be 2 versions, a pro with the qwerty and a keyboard less. Also i read the processor in it is identical to that of the iphone 4. This is bull HTC, i expected the best from the evo until the 2nd day i had my evo and saw my palm pre plays 3d games 10 times better than the evo.
I feel what you guys are saying, but how many of us would have known about this issue so early on had it not been for the members here bringing it to our attention, I would have probably caught it later on and not so soon. And yes it is very snappy with the hack.
Also I'm pretty sure sprint is only getting the QWERTY flavored Galaxy S. Samsung also doesn't have a very good track record with keeping up with their devices on a timely fashion. I left MOMENT due to that and went HTC, not like sprint has an variety of big named devices anyway. I'm pretty sure emailing HTC at this point is a waste of time seeing as they already stated they capped it for *their* reasons. This isn't a problem for me since the devs are working on fixes even tho it isn't their job. I'm not an average user so tweaking and twiddling with my phone is all good for me. But I can see how to an average user this would be an issue if they even decide to care.
I really don't know how any of you guys expect to by any smart phone or gadget for that matter and have it work flawlessly without fault. I still can't get over people getting bent about some light warpage that you only see in dark areas but hey thats just me.
Samsung has pledged to focus more on their Android devices so I would imagine that their past issues with not updating will be resolved...
I'm really wanting the Galaxy S Pro... It takes every other Android phone to task.
take the phone back jump to Verizon and move on SIMPLE !

Because ONE "flaw" with ONE phone (which is, by the the way, the FIRST batch of the FIRST generation of this phone) obviously means the company as a whole is just garbage?

You emphasized one phone as if meaning to say that HTC hasn't ****ed up on just about every other phone they've ever put out as well...
IMO the grass is not greener at Samsung. I have had the i760 and the Moment and each time I swapped them for the HTC equivilent at the time.
Every device has issues, but at least HTC hacks are much easier to come by...the evidence is in the size of the XDA forums.
The only thing I like better about Samsung is that the hardware is less flimsey, but HTC has gotten better at it over the last year.

I emphasized "one" phone because when you translate his post to English, the rant is:
The entire company "HTC" is crap as a whole because one of their phones has a 30fps cap on graphics.

...which is obviously untrue.
Guys, we know that the cap is software imposed. It can be fixed. Sure, HTC screwed up by imposing a 30FPS cap, but nothing matches the QQing the iPhone 4 users are making right now. (Seriously, glass back and front? Antennae shorting?)
Basically, the cap will be broken completely soon. It is HTC's fault they imposed such a dumb cap in the first place, but calling the company crap because of that is kind of uncalled for.

+1 exactly my point.
OP, play with an evo for a few minutes and then try to say that the (temporary) 30fps cap really makes a difference to the overall experience of the device.
Just go buy the droid x and don't spend your precious time here to tell us how you hate HTC and the EVO because you have so much experience with the Droid X to says its so much better.

You know, I bought this phone cash for 500 bucks... I'm a big gamer and would really like to play most of the 3d games gameloft has to offer and with the evo capped at 30 frp second, I'm **** out of luck! CALL IT WHAT YOU WANT, but i want my moneys worth and for the look HTC does not care to fix this issue. I just hope the galaxy s delivers where the evo failed to. And for the record, I bought ASPHAL 5 for my evo on the second day I owned it and IT PLAYS LIKE ****!!!! It did not have to come here to figure this out.

I'm actually waiting to see how thick the S Pro is. If it is pretty thin I might check it out, even though I will probably never use the hardware keyboard. The GPU alone looks to be kicking all kinds of ass.

I totally get that you want your monies worth, I mean who doesn't right? Also as stated we all would have figured it out sooner or later on our own about the caps one way or another. And yes I agree the cap is nonsense and we shouldn't just "make due" but if you bought the evo as a means for serious gaming I think you picked up the wrong device . Second that. And third that. And fourth that. And can I get an eighth of that?
My wife went through 3 Motorola phones while I had my 1 Samsung SGH-P735. We just dumped her Cliq for an Espresso after 2 replacements. Plus Moto just sold their entire mobile devision to Nokia Seimens, IDK if they will even be a relevant brand in the next 5 years.
Yeah the samsung vibrant and captivate are beAutiful phone.
Looks like my information about Motorola are old, but still hate Samsung.
I have an what they call an ACE and the charger/speaker/USB jack is disconnected from the motherboard and everyone tells me its unfixable.
And my father has a normal Samsung phone and the software is so simple that it drives me nuts whenever he needs help.

Two points:
- They sold their mobile network equipment division. In other words, the equipment that goes in towers. Not their mobile handset business. The two are totally different, and selling one means nothing to the operation of the other.
- I think there's a pretty big difference between Moto's low/mid line phones, like the Cliq or Backflip, and their high end "droid" series. I think most original Droid users have been happy. I know my Dad has loved his. I don't think it's fair to say that because the Cliq wasn't a great phone that Motorola can't produce great phones.
I'm not a Moto lover or a Samsung hater. I think HTC, Moto, and Samsung all have elements they do well and elements they don't.

Thanks for clarifying about the sale, I wa misinformed. We were more upset about Moto's lack of customer service in addressing the issue of updates (1.5 for a year now) and failure to diagnose the multiple problems we were having. I have played with my friend's Droid X, and found it to be quite a phone: their higher end units are very well made. However, they do not put the same quality into all of their devices, and I prefer not to play lottery on a $300 phone.

I think the issue is that there have been no updates about sound for many months. With all the progress on bringing new Android updates to the TP2, it appears that sound has actually been forgotten.
Hearing the phone ring is a pretty big deal and is the biggest reason I haven't begun using Android exclusively. I know I will get hammered for this since these guys are doing all this great work for FREE but I know I would gladly pay to install Android on my phone.

Guys, this is ridiculous. We are hearing about new LG phones with ICS, when their previous flagship is stuck with GB and no concrete plans for an upgrade. This is unacceptable, you just know they aren't actively doing **** to expedite the completion of ICS for the Nitro.
The Nitro is a half-baked product, but it could have been great had they released ICS early on. I blame both AT&T and LG for this failure. I think we need to motivate LG with some concerned emails, but I honestly don't even know if there are enough people in this forum to even make a difference.

I agree... I have ALWAYS bought HTC, and decided on Nitro over Vivid because of HD screen. Everything I read about the Nitro was its great on paper, but it's LG. Dummy me still went with LG. Like Charlie Brown going to kick the football knowing damn good and well Lucy is going to pull it away.
LG will let this rot on the vine, I know this. If the dev community doesn't pick up this phone will be dead in 6 months... and I will be GONE, and will go back to HTC.
LG has said they will update the LG Optimus LTE to ICS in Q2 2012. We'll be getting ICS either directly or by porting it from the Optimus LTE. It is more than possible to run the Optimus LTE ROM on our phones.

Wish I could say the same but I still have a good 22 months to go.
Easy does it now. I've got gripes just like everyone else, but our Nitro does NOT suck. Don't forget it's STILL one of the few 1280x720 HD screens out there and our dual-core 1.5GHz cpu is hardly a turd either.
This whole thing about how we could've waited just a little longer for the next big thing is ridiculous because not even 6 months ago the specs on our Nitro WAS the next big thing.
Crap, it has LG logo...
I'll pass.
It's just woefully slow, backed by LG, and full of an array of small problems. I guarantee the same exact phone shipped by Samsung or HTC would be much much better.

LOL, not quite true there. The only phone by HTC that has HD screen is the Rezound, and my coworker has it, and trust me, it lags even worse, expect in certain areas that I know for sure HTC makes it certain it runs smoothly (like the wake up screen). Samsung? Samsung doesn't even have an HD screen that competes with the pixel density of LG (not talking of resolutions here, since the note does have HD resolution but screen size is much bigger, thus reducing Pixel Density, and the Nexus runs on a crappy version of amoled, thus reducing energy footprint).
I posted those stories not with the intention of calling our phone crappy or that it will be obsolete in no time. I am sure that one way or another, we will get ICS, although it might not be months down the road. And I will never call this phone crappy, given that until now, about 3 months after it's release, there is yet to be a phone out there to match its power (besides the Nexus, which is a Giant search engine company's flagship phone) and once we get ICS, I am almost sure our phone will trump any other ones in its class.
Like kernelpanic said, we should get ICS somewhere in Q2 of this year, which is around the projected time that most new phones will be released carrying ICS in it. And if we are lucky, we might get either CM9 before that, or maybe a kind and great Dev to help us move further forward towards ICS with some interesting Roms or Kernels.
Speaking of CM9, did you all VOTE to get CM working on a port for our phone? If you haven't I say you should not be complaining cuz you are not doing your part to improve lol.

Hey, to me, you're as much a real dev as any other dev can be Despite your limitations, u gave us all hope with our phones hehe.
Def wont ne getting another LG but I can say I'm happy I opted for it when I did. Its the name of the game when you get a phone. New ones cone out that trump it in months. No bog deal really. I wish development teams could produce their own high quality devices to sell. Cyanogenmod making a phone would be sweet.
I dont think I ever said the phone sucked... it is LG that sucks. Their track record with phones is well established. I do love the screen, and LTE is faster than my home internet. It is a good phone, even better with Kernelpan1c rom's! I am just beginning to feel like this phone was nothing more than a stopgap to the Optimus 4x, and will soon be the neglicted middle child.
I also lay blame on AT&T who did NOTHING to promote this phone, nothing at all. Therefore sales will be down & 3rd party accessories will be minimal. The only saving grace may be Verizons version, at least they made commercials... although nothing like the Speilberg'esque Droid productions they put out regularly.
UPDATE - Just saw on AT&T the Nitro is now a $100 for new contracts. The Skyrocket is still $200!!! In 2 months it went from flagship to dead weight.
I bought the Nitro as an upgrade to my Samsung Infuse. I just wanted something different from Samsung. Yes Sammy screens are the best in my opinion and the Infuse is unbrickable. I've already bricked one Nitro. The HDMI output on the Nitro is so much better than my Infuse, thats a feature I use often. Developmet will come to this phone like it did to the Infuse and I'm thinking of getting my dev on for this phone if development slows down, but I'm new to that. The nitro seems to be LG's "middle child" like the samsung Infuse. Which is cool with me.
LG G2, the latest flagship Android-based smartphone from South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics, is said to be underperforming on the market, falling far behind expectations.
According to the latest reports on the matter, LG has managed to sell only around 600,000 G2 units during the handset’s first four months of availability in its homeland market.
Internationally, the device is selling slowly as well, with less than 2.3 million units said to have been shipped, despite the fact that LG actually aimed at selling over 3 million devices, info coming from Asia Today unveils.
Made official back in summer, the LG G2 landed on shelves with a large 5.2-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a full HD resolution, while being powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor.Furthermore, the Android-based device features a 13-megapixel camera on the back with support for full HD video recording, as well as a front camera for making video calls.
The high-end smartphone also packs 2GB of RAM inside, the usual set of connectivity options and sensors, and Google’s Android Jelly Bean operating system loaded on top.The handset comes with the power and volume buttons placed on the back, beneath the camera, which should allow faster, more convenient operations, as LG puts it.
All in all, LG G2 is a device that well deserves its current position at the top of LG’s portfolio, despite the fact that sales are not as great as the company had hoped.
As AndroidBeat notes, LG managed to sell 540,000 Optimus G Pro units in South Korea in the first four months following the handset’s launch, which clearly shows that G2 did not manage to help LG gain too much market share.
What remains to be seen is what exactly LG plans on bringing to the market next year, and whether it will be able to attract more users to its side than it did this year.
I am not a mobile market analyst, but I would guess one of the biggest reasons is people being fed up with LG's crappy updates. People iust dont trust them, and dont want to be stuck with a device a couple of OS versions behind the major competition. LG is probably the world's worst OEM, among the big names, in terms of supporting their products. Every time, they release an awesome flagship (no sarcasm here, LG hardware is typicaly top-notch), just to abandon it after one update, if not right away. I just hope they understand this, looking at the sales numbers, an maybe (just maybe) change their retarded approach to updates ...

I think, with all respect in the word, that you say that because optimus g dont recieve an update. In my opinion, many people dont know about their version of android os, or doesn t mather if they recieve an update. Most people , at least in my country, start to think about this, when they need an app that requires for example android 4.0 and they have 2.3. But in a small amount of people there are many that thinks that the software version is very important. Me, you and some people that still around here to see if LG anounce the update.
The g2 didn't sold that much because lg decided to follow samaung's glossy platic pattern instead of going for better materials. They copied samsung and it costed them.also the marketing was not that good. You need an agressive marketing these days. Bottom line, the g2 is underrated and i will buy it anyway soon

No. First of all, I personally don't care much about LG updates, and I bought the OG knowing full well that it will be very much behind, or even won't get updates past 4.1.2 at all (to be seen, I guess). Also, I owned another LG flagship in the past - 2X. ICS update debacle for that phone was quite a drama, trust me... You can also check LG's record on updating other devices. So, no, I am not saying this because I am bitter about OG. It's LG's MO, that's just how it is.
Second, I very much disagree that most people wouldn't care about updates. I think it's quite the opposite.
But again, that's just my unqualified opinion...

At least geek people who know Android well will not buy LG G2 instead they buy nexus 5 or nexus 4. Same internal hardware with 100% Android update. Even plastic samsung maintained good track record of Android update
LG has this issue since start

Agree with that, but most people, are not geek. But geeks, definitely will not buy G2.

but we all bought OG at the time nexus 4 was also there na.. Nexus 5 is the reason for G2's sale ???
I believe they released it too fast.
G2 is the 3rd flagship model in one year.
A shop in gront of my house selling G2 for 200$ in case of 2 year contract lol
G Flex is 700$ with contact.
And i bought my OG for 750$ with contract, if i remember correctly

No, most people are not geek, but they asks geeks for their inputs.
Of all the people that asked me, I always recomended they buy the N5 or the S4, the G2 is not worth the difference to get "no support" from the maker.
Even if we rules out the issue with the total lack of updates for the OS, the OG didn't get ANY fixes at all for the other known issue, even if it was reported to them. So, I can not recommend the current flagship for anyone.
My 5 cents = Geeks tell technophobes not to buy LG due to crappy updates, N5 comparatively cheap with guaranteed updates and lastly market saturation

And LG just "sucks" compared to Samsung. Just like how Volvo "sucks" compared to the established Germans like BMW and Mercedes-Benz, even though Volvo builds some great vehicles.

Volvo is the safest car manufacturer in the world.Just like any brand, they all have their own goals and mottos and stuff like that.Personally,I prefer most people to be chosing other phones from other brands(Samsung,Sony,Oppo, etc.)So that my LG can feel special without going everywhere and within 15 metres, another guy is using a different phone than mine.Just Sayin.I hate to go mainstream.
Well the build quality, I really like LG's. But the trend now is with good build, should also come with great updates. That is how Nokia failed miserably. They have great phone build, but very outdated OS, and slow updates. But reality also says that most people go for the well-known brands, and most don't care about software updates. Heck they don't even know NFC.

Well for me, my Volvo sucks cus management sucks... They're so thick skulled. That and they royally screwed me over over one of the car's problem that they refuse to fix... But that's not the point. If you wanna find me, go to Swedespeed. geokilla over there as well.

Major Hipster Alert there!!
If you are like me so fed up with the unfair reviews the V30 got from those biased reviews on the internet, you'll enjoy this video.

I especially liked the iPhone X and LG V30 comparisons about 8 minutes in.
By the way this video is an "extended" version of this Forbes article:
The LG V30 Is As Underrated As The iPhone X Is Overrated
https://www.forbes.com/sites/bensin...ed-as-the-iphone-x-is-overrated/#7c3addc72028
He's just more colorful -- with a some cursing (against obviously biased tech reviewers) -- in the video. So for those who don't have time for 14 minute video, read the article first. If you like it, you can watch the video. Especially towards the end of the video he ably demonstrated how the LG V30 unlocks better, faster than the Samsung Note 8. You can't "show" that in an article.
The main point is he actually has ALL these phones himself and uses them everyday. He's not some dilettante reviewer who just uses an Android phone for a few hours to write an article, then blindly goes back to their iPhone flock with the other iSheep.

IMHO knock code is the most brilliant innovation by LG, and (surprisingly) it's not available on any other phones, been using it since G3 and can't live without it on a daily driver - it's just so convenient. A little complaint though is starting from lollipop LG has required the code to be at least 6 taps instead of 3.

AFAIK, they are different. On HTC you can tap the screen twice to wake up the phone then enter the unlock code to unlock it. On LG you can enter the knock code when the screen is off then immediately unlock the phone.
LOL...this video rant is so true. Brooklyn frat bros....Samsung software just as bad as LG's in comparison to Vanilla Android. HA HA HA. also the apple fanboy comment. HA HA
YES, so true.

It's hilarious because I blew my JUMP and down payment on the V30 to get the V30+ because I wanted a black one. Now I use a case to cover it 99.9% of the time.
I still think double the storage and headphones were worth it though.
I just think next time I need to be patient. If I'd waited one month, I'd have gotten the one I wanted originally.

Double storage is great. That's part of the reason I stopped waiting on the unlocked. I'll keep this 30+ though as it's the free one, so I'd rather have the black one since I'm keeping it. If I had planned on jumping one I had through jump, color wouldn't matter too much though. The good thing on my end, when I jump my other, I still have a whole set of accessories that was never used. I have so many USB C cables now just from the s8 and s8+'s I've jumped and BOGO'D. ??

My wife s getting the V30 unlocked I ordered, after the v30+ unlocked is released. I'll mess with it some...
But I had to buy one by December 2, to qualify for the $400 gift card. And all that's available of the 64GB unlocked version. Now if LG will just release the LG V30+ US998 in the next month.
Here ya go, straight from LG:

If root and whatnot gets devs onboard and the price drops cheap enough, I may grab a V30+ unlocked version. This one is doing pretty good though. I only really need 1 app that requires root and I can run that on my S3.
It would just be nice to perform those tasks on the go. ?
