My Z2 play reboots randomly a couple of times a day. I have been protecting it with a bumper that is sold on the Verizon store that squeezes the phone pretty tightly. I noticed that one of the reboots happened when I was leaning gently on the phone. Has anyone else experienced this?
I'm going to try it without the bumper for a while to see if that stops the rebooting.

So far, I have only had one spontaneous reboot on my Moto Z2 Play phone, and it happened while I was using it. I have noticed evidence of running out of memory, probably due to memory leaks in applications. My two previous phones, both LG models, had similar memory leaks and sometimes crashed and rebooted as a result.

I've got the Verizon bumper on my Z2 Play (with the Qi moto mod) and I have not noticed any reboots.
I wouldn't be surprised, tho I haven't used my Verizon bumper for more than a few minutes.
It does fit tight and the buttons are easily activated, when only pressing the bumper close to the buttons and not the actual buttons themselves.

Dropped phone from about 2.5-3.5 feet, screen cracked halfway down left side, spiderwebbed, no response and sides bulging, picked it up and threw it at the wall because I was in a heated argument ...
Last words?
When you buy this phone, get a case. There were no cases available when i bought phone, went to radio shack a month later after their 'we have every case for every phone' commercial, they had no case for this phone, was going to get one later today at the sprint kiosk... not anymore. Goodbye Optimus G ;(
You throw things in arguments?
That really sucks man. Sorry to hear it.
Drop results are very hit and miss with this phone it seems. Most people seem to have very good results, but when it breaks, the danged thing BREAKS. Hope you had insurance or some other measure to get a new one soon.
I wouldn't throw this phone even if somebody paid me money to buy 2 of them afterwards. Glad I don't rage like that.
Bought an Otterbox Commuter from Amazon the day I got my phone. Dropped it tons of times, still good as new.
Drop is when you "drop" something and it is pulled by the gravitation.
Throw is when you use force to push something at something.
When you "drop" something 3-4 feet, it will have about the same impact, considering equivalent weight. The resulting impact is affected by only the weight, the distance and the gravitational force. 3-4 feet drop will have a similar impact when using similar weight.
When you throw something, the distance is affecting the impact in a lot lesser matter. The main item affecting the impact is then the force in which it was thrown, so saying your phone is broken “because” of a 3-4 feet drop is a misdirection. The thing that broke your phone is the force you applied when you threw it.
All that to say, get a stress ball dude!

Super easy $60 fix if you want to keep the phone. I just did my sisters in like 10 minutes, just watch the youtube video for it.
If you choose not to fix what would you want for your rear camera. I want to look into getting the 13mp camera to work with at&t but the camera is hard to come by

I would also buy parts as I am in need of the volume buttons. I would buy the motherboard as well. You can even sell the camera if you want. Or if you like donate me the parts? Haha I could really use them.

Dropped mine a couple of time from about 3 feet. Holding up like a champ with no breaks. I mean, if you throw any phone, its going to break lol.

Didn't drop my phone at all but in my front pocket playing music it suddenly started wigging out. When I pulled my phone out of my pocket, it was the only thing in my pocket, it was cracked! WTF....
Heading to Sprint store to get a replacement!
I did notice when I got the phone that in the bottom left, close to the back button, there was a small indent in the screen. The crack started right there. Also my back button has always been a little flaky.
Dropped mine last night on concrete and got lucky, it just scratched the bottom right corner of the casing. This is a tough little phone. Lol

dropped mine the first day before I bought a case. Luckily it was only 2 feet and onto a wooden floor. Just chipped the chrome ring a little. Bought an otterbox the next day!
Love my otterbox... Not sure why but i've fling'd / dropped this phone more than any other i've had but it's working perfectly still. One drop was bad enough the otterbox cracked around where the charging port was.
Emailed otterbox. Got a brand new replacement in a week!
Any one have a volume pgb ribbon ...when I replace the screen the ribbon got kink pretty bad.. an does not work any more has any one had this problem....??

I've tried to search for this problem, but was unsuccessful.
When I am typing, the new Nexus 7 keeps freezing. I tried installing another keyboard, same problem. When this occurs, device is totally unresponsive, including home, back, volume and power keys.
I can't even return this now that 2 weeks is over.
I also tried factory reset twice. Someone please help thank you
Have that happen once a day or so.
Try turning off Wifi while you're typing and see if that helps.
Otherwise, it will take an update from Google/ASUS to fix, unless it's a hardware issue.
Either way, after 3 weeks, there's no info coming from either source.
Not that I'm surprised.
This is a known and well documented issue.
Your only choices are to:
A) Wait and see
B) Warranty to ASUS or Google, depending on from which you'd purchased it.
Its a know issue on jss builds of 4.3, the new nexus 7 is the only device that official runs it. Google should fix it soon, and paranoidAndroid should be releasing there hybrid 4.3 build soon. That fixes it as we'll..

Damn.. it happens even while I am NOT typing. I.e. open up Chrome. Enter "cnn.com". Press Enter. HANG.
WTH??!
In my case the freezing occurs when the magnet case is opened 180 degrees so the front cover is folded all the way back. Lifting the folded cover a half inch away restores response. So I think it may be related to the magnet in the case.
magnet case is the prob

I made exactly the same experience with the magnet. After having stopped using the magnet case there are no more freezes. I have also completely stopped using chrome and switched to Dolphin browser. Now the system is super stable and fast!
Maybe my solution is helpful to one or the other.
I have a rooted system with Cyanogen mod 11 (4.4.2)
I put on a Skinomi screen protector last night and have noticed the screen isn't as responsive as before. Haven't experienced this with other phones before, wondering if anyone else has noticed this?

I specifically didn't buy a Skinomi for this phone like I had for my previous phones because I read that people were having trouble not getting the liquid into the speakers. If you think about it, it makes sense, and I'm not going to take the chance I would have the same problem. I haven't read about that specific brand causing problems with the touchscreen, but I know cheap ones definitely can affect sensitivity.
Did any liquid get in the speakers during the application process? Does your phone have the slight gap in the side like several phones do? It's possible the liquid could have gotten in there and could be affecting the touchscreen.
Thus far I'm not having any issues with the touchscreen with my dry application iSmooth screen protector. *knock on wood*

I figured out my problem was an app I had loaded.
No problem with water as I waited 5 minutes before applying the application....
Thanks for your response as I learned from it.

I was using the Moto x and decided to give it to my wife. I bought her a dual layer Incipio case through Verizon and she started having problems with the phone, I thought something was wrong with the root I installed so I went through the process of flashing the stock firmware on it. Same issues...The quickcapture (turning phone to launch camera) and the proximity sensor (her phone would go off on a call and never come back on even with a power button press). Took off the case, both worked 100%....put the case back on neither worked at all. I didn't know the quickcapture used perhaps another blocked sensor and not the gyroscope but it 100% definitely didn't work with the case and did without it..just a heads up!
I have that case and have had no issues at all.

No, it was just the case. It was this one to be more specific:
Incipio dual pro http://www.incipio.com/cases/smartp...x-cases/dualpro-case-for-motorola-moto-x.html
That's strange. That's the exact same case I have and I have not had any of those issues.
It had to be the case, because I used the phone for almost a month with no problems, then I gave it to her and it was ok until I got that case for her. Took the case off and it started working again. Her phone wouldn't come back on at all after a call even with the power button and the quick capture feature on the camera would not work. That is weird...
I have the Incipio case and I have had no problems with the proximity sensor or the quick capture feature.
Welll yes me too have the same incipio dualPro hard shell case and its working fine...there is not any such kind of problem with the case...may be your case has some metal problem so better consult the customer care for sorting it out...as early as its possible....because this is the first time I get to know about such problems with a case...so man hurry up its the problem with the case so its ur case which needs a check up not your phone....
Haven't experienced problems with my proximity sensor with my zerolemon case.
Gotta jump on here, been using the dual pro for 2+ weeks with no problems (including the 2 you mentioned).
No problems for me either. Strange...

So I've had my Pixel 2 XL BLACK since launch day and it has by far been my most favoritest phone EVER!!!!
I bought the Google case (the one made of canvas material), and I got one for free from Google at the same time. I also purchased one of Google's Screen Protectors when they launched. The screen protector gave my screen issues. Half the time when I touched the screen nothing would happen, or if I was making a phone call, the screen would hibernate. I realized this was because of the facial sensor for like when you put the phone to your ear??? I guess having the protector on my screen, Pixel thought it was close to my ear as if I were on the phone. So I gave up on the screen protector after getting a refund from Google on that and also trying one from Incipio... Without a screen protector, my device runs fantastic! Which brings me to my next point. I find when I take my case off, after a few minutes of being naked, my Pixel runs super fast! Like brand new right out of the box fast... Is it possible that having a case on my Pixel can cause it to run slower? Is it a heat issue (the case trapping or causing heat somehow), or IS IT JUST ME???
I'm going with just you on this one.
It's possible it could hit a thermal throttle but unlikely. I say unlikely because many more people would be reporting it.
I think its a perception issue.
I feel the same way, but it seems undeniable. Thanks for your honesty, even though it hurt ?
Have you tried any benchmarks while in a case vs in your hand?
I think its just the feel of it in your hands without a case on it. I work manual labor and when I take case off some nights to clean the dust etc I just fall in love with it all over again and wish I didnt need to use a case. Thing feels so nice in the hands.
Without having your specific device in my hand I can only relate this device to the throttling turd the Nexus 6P was. That being said...I've never run across a throttling issue with mine in the 3 months I've had it.
