Hi guys.
Recently my Fire TV Stick is showing the portrait app totally stretched and distorted.
Instead of showing it centered in the middle of TV, it is showed "stretch to fill".

Do you notice this? Is it possible to turn it back to the centered image?
Mine is doing the same thing after installing Udemy as well. From the screenshot, looks like OP did the same thing. Even after uninstalling the app, rebooting, and power cycling, image is still stupid stretched. I'm watching Netflix, and the menus and everything are fine, but video playback is in a super skinny wide screen. Video stretches all the way horizontally, and about 1/5 of the screen vertically.

So I've had my phone for about a month, and something I've begin to notice is what appears to be an oddly-shaped splotch on the left hand side of the screen when holding it horizontally. This weird splotch only occures when I'm watching a video in the gallary or when the screen is black when a Youtube video is loading. It's really only noticable when my room is dark, and even then it's barely noticable. When a Youtube video is loading and the screen is black for an instance, or then I'm watching an uploaded video from someone on Facebook, and the video doesn't take up the whole screen, AND it is dark in the room I am in, I notice a splotch on the screen which is not very big, and sort of a deformed circle. It's black, a darker black that the screen. Again, I only notice this in the described conditions. It does not appear to be on any other application. It's only noticed in the gallary or when watching a Youtube video. Anyone know what this is? It really isn't bothersome at all, as it's not very noticable, and hardly shows itself. I'm just really curious as to what's causing this.
Anyone having any rotation issues with their camera?
I went to the see the Twin Atlantics last night and took numerous videos, all of which were taken holding the phone horizontally.
Four of the seven videos play vertically even though I hold the phone horizontally, resulting in the picture playing 90 degrees the wrong way. If I hold the phone vertically, the picture rotates 90 degrees the wrong way again. Very strange, I can't think why this happens when the other three videos play at the correct angle.
Any ideas?
No, but have had same...

Have you found a solution to this issue? I am having exactly the same problem..
Is your accelerometer off? I noticed when I turned off auto-rotate I started having problems with the camera. I enabled and disabled again and it fixed it for the time being. Make sure that when you are taking a picture, the video recording button and the shutter button are oriented the correct way.
same problem on just one video, started recording vertical and then quick rotate to horizontal, screen rotated but when playing its show small video box. Others started in right way got no playing problem.
Not sure why but I have tried wicked and darthstalker and when ever I try recording video horizontal it still records in vertical even though the phone is turned horizontal and the icons also shift. I didn't have this issue with the S3. Is this a setting? Glitch? Sorta annoying when I need to record side way! ;/
Just got my new Pixel 2 XL and immediately upgraded it to 8.1 out of the box. Overall I am very happy with the screen physically (blue shift, even color, grain, etc) but have noticed some “white artifacts” if you will when using certain apps. It flickers and comes and goes with no apparent pattern. I first noticed when using Google Maps to drive home last night. I didn’t think to screenshot it since I played it off as a one time thing. However I was just watching some youtube videos in full screen mode and saw the same white artifacts again right where the black nav bar and display would meet. I only notice it during full screen and can reproduce it in a screenshot so I don’t think it’s a faulty display.
Anyone else notice this since getting the 8.1 update?
I took a screenshot of the youtube video I was watching, look at the right of the display right above where the nav bar would be.
Heres the link to the rough part of the video if anyone wants to try themselves.

Update: I've confirmed this happens no matter which way I rotate my phone in landscape mode, so Im leaning towards 8.1 software issue.
I have noticed that when I take a selfie, and then click on it to view it, it displays normally for a second, but then auto-blurs the selfie. I don't actually like that- I'd rather see the real image, not a beauty-filtered one. How can I turn off whatever mechanism is doing this?
Are you talking about the blur/bokeh in portrait mode or face retouching? Portrait mode will blue the background while keeping the subject in focus. There is also an icon on the top left corner of the camera that looks like a face with a star on it which adjusts face retouching. Options are off, natural or soft. This is on both camera and portrait mode.
Additionally for photos you've already taken in portrait, when viewing them in the camera roll there are two copies of the image and you can toggle the bokeh/blur on and off.
