Wait? I'm on ZV9 does that mean that I can root? If so how do I go about it?

I misread a post I thought u guys had a lg g4 not 5. No cant root. I saw him ask about 4g and thought is said g4

TheMadScientist said:
Long hard proscces but yes. You have to downgrade to zv6. Then push rooted system image. Then u can sim unlock. Take about 4 hours or so to do. You cant go lower than zv6 or brick. And no bigher than zva or no downgrade

Only 4 hours? I'm down to try it if I can get root. I've been looking but haven't found a guide to downgrade to zv6 and then push the system image though.

You will never be able to unlock the bootloader on that phone, unless your carrier can give you some kind of code to change your unlock status (not sure this is even possible).

The BL is different, if it came from O2 then chances are you cant unlock the BL.
So there is no chance? It worked with xperia arc and omnius. Costs about 15$, that would be ok. But will it work with our z1c in the near future? Or is it just "luck" to find an exploit?

Well nothing is impossible, but it isn't likely as it requires a bootloader exploit. Realistically it isn't going to happen though, unless some smart people devote a lot of time to it. The most likely scenario (using test point to gain more software access) would require hardware tampering.
Hello Mentalghost,
Unfortunately there is no way to unlock the bootloader when the status is "No".
Have a great day, cheers!

MentalGhost, where did you purchase your phone? This phone isn't sold by any carriers in the USA, to the best of my knowledge, so the bootloader shouldn't be locked.

Bought in UK where I am not in USA. Might take back to shop where bought from and see if got any others in lol
Or wait for locked bootloader versions or someone makes modded version with unlocked rom that is been modded like one where you install modded that is unlocked install and then can unlock bootloader did in xperia s I use to have was a modded rom that was originally saying bootloader unlock no and added new Base rom and then said bootloadr unlock yes maybe this will happen on this phone in time or locked bootloader kernels and rom come along

I'd recommend to anyone that is still able to return a Phone to do so because I think you'll find you'll be waiting a long time for a solution.

Plus, there will be no solution. The reason why Xperia Arc S and other 2011 Xperias worked with testpoint method was because of that there was a big security flaw in the security of the testpoints nand access, but those flaws have been fixed in newer Xperias and newer 2011 Xperias also.

+1 It was coming to that realization that I sold my O2 locked Z after 6 months to buy an unbranded Z1 Compact. It worked out cheaper too spending hundreds of pounds up front for my Phone with the added bonus of having access to all of it.

Unlock G925T

Hey guys,
I bought a G925T and gonna have to use it in Brazil (with a brazilian sim card carrier).
Do you know how can I unlock the phone?
I'm reading here in XDA that is not possible to unlock the T-Mobile S6 Edge.
Anybody knows somenthing about that?
thank you!
To unlock the t-mobile phone you have to call the t-mobile costumer service and request them to add your imei to their white list. Then you have to go to the unlock app and push permanent unlock. You have to be connected to internet using the t-mobile network to make the unlock work.
Can be unlocked by usb cable now also https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxOuHIUWAFk
yeah u can do it different ways. I can do it . 5.1.1 supported.

yes can be done for 5.1.1 ,by imei only ,basically the method is and unlock on tmobile server,so it will work to unlock using the tmobile unlock app. This service can be considered maybe a bit more official as that presented in the video above, even if the results are the same, only problem is a bit more expensive

Hey bro just wanted to say that please be careful. If the customer updates to version 5.1.1, the phone will not boot beyond the Samsung Logo, this happens only IF you're still tampering with the EFS. There are a few methods on how to unlock them now without affecting the phone....just wanted to inform you if you were still doing it via efs...

Hmm, I think I know who unlocked your phone in that case. Well the only way will be to update OTA, to do that your phone must be on STOCK firmware, no root. To do that flash over the firmware (system partition), when you do you can update OTA. PLEASE BE CAREFUL. You need to ask the person who unlocked your phone for your EFS Backup, this is important in case things go wrong.

Oh ok, if it's through z3x then you're fine. They don't tamper with EFS. Though I would still HIGHLY RECOMMEND to ask for your efs backup, trust me on this. I'm new to this forum, but I am a little familiarized with phones

Hey I didn't know you had an account here too! Like I said brother, it has to do with efs and security partitions. ONLY IMEI repair at the moment, I do know someone who can root it...but solution is exclusive, won't share with anyone including myself....I'm sure you know who it was on the other side
just need the imei repair

Unlocking on G925T 5.1.1 is supported and also imei repair as well... check the ebay ads

No you don't need to unlock your bootloader to root your phone. Some devices need it.
I bricked my phone while replacing KingRoot with SuperSu. I don't trust Kingroot, removing KingRoot method for LG K10 for now.

Help, does not work GSM unlock for Sprint LG G5 on firmware LS992ZVC

Hi
I updated my phone to the firmware ZVC, but now the mobile network is not working
Hidden settings are now unavailable in Hidden menu
What are the options for unlocking GSM now ?
is it possible to go back to the previous firmware?
Attached as now looks Hidden menu
View attachment 4298578
I have the same problem, I didn't notice the below in time by Hai Karate from the other post, if anyone needs me to test any functional ways to revert or unlock let me know, i have a new brick.
Source code for the ZVC update has been posted to LG's site, so the update itself is no doubt days or even hours from being released. It's 99.999% certain that this will the the patch that removes the ability to access the hidden menu, which will mean no ability to unlock the phone (and edit the APN settings, I suspect) after it has been installed.
IF YOU WANT YOUR SPRINT G5 TO STAY UNLOCKED AND/OR UNLOCKABLE, DO NOT UPGRADE PAST ZVB.

They have increased the anti rollback. So no you cant. So sprint or outside 3rd party unlock,Unless a new method is found but not looking good there so basically out of luck.
On a further note do not attempt further downgrade as possible hard-brick can occur with no fix.
Sell it and get an unlocked edition.....

i am with tmo it all depends on who you get and how present it to tmo on why you need it u locked i got mine unlocked on day one within a hour and im making payments granted ive been with them for like ten years so im sure that helps.ive done it before but i will admit it sounded harder this time the rep was like i will be right back with you i have to get this approved with a superviser ten minutes later he said it was approved and within 24 hours i would be able to unlock inrebooted phine from there and unlocked it.the oem lock in dev settings took 3 days before moto unlocked that as for unlocking my bootloader i havent went thay far yet i dont see the need yet and ive read you will not receive updates.honestly unless you are a developer there isnt alot on this device yet im sure it will come but i think ive seen one rom twrp i believe is spotty at the moment were probably a good three months atleast away before it really starts rolling.i will say it you use my way with metro make sure u sound like your in a officail compasity and you have a need as mot to spill the beans thats all i will say and good luck
