[Q] About unlock the bootloader.

hi guys .I have a V500,and I had flashed the TWRP on my device. And then I flashed a custom rom such as cm11. But ,in my opinion ,many phones flash roms must unlock the bootloader first . and then flash the recovery etc. But why our v500 don't have to unlcok the bootloader ?
Does LG provide the offical bootloader unlock service? Thanks.:angel:

Lg make their devices with locked bootloaders in contrary to asus nexus for example who allow you very easily to unlock the bootloader. Developers use a hack named loki to bypass the bootloader and allow us to flash custom roms and recoveries. Thats why you see a message if you re on a custom rom everytime you open your tablet, it means that loki is working fine at that moment. If we had unlocked bootloaders we wouldnt see that message as there would be no need for loki.

Help 20h recovery bootloader

Hi in first place I want to say I have this phone about 2 weeks and it's comes to me already on lollipop I have v20h and I'm rooted I wish install recovery and unlock boot loader but there is so many threads and am confused because every person say different thing , can I unlock boot loader without backing to kk? And how can i flash a recovery that will work for me ? Can I just install twrp app from play store and flash there recovery ? Do I need have boot loader unlocked ?

the bootloader isn't unlocked(ever) we just use a workaround , you need to revert to kitkat first for this to work and you can install twrp by following the instructions HERE

I saw there is a new method without going back to kk but isn't clear for me, feeling so noob ;( that's most complicated device I ever had to install custom recovery

this method requires you to downgrade(only bootloader) and is more dangerous then the regular downgrading approach. just downgrade you could enjoy have enjoyed a rom by now(while you were searching for the correct images

For now I really enjoing stock I don't think to changing it I just wanted recovery for some mods

Which model do you have have? You may have to be on LP in order to use the official Asus unlock app.

is required oem unlock to flash twrp?

I can flash twrp image but I cant open recovery mode.

To answer your question in the title yes, any software you wish to install on a locked phone must be signed and twrp and custom roms are not.

Unlock bootloader LG G4 US991!!

I happened to install twrp successfully on my g4 us911 lg machine, it works perfectly while my phone has not unlocked the bootloader.
Now I have twrp, is there a way to unlock my phone?

You should be clear on what phone model you really do have - Your thread title indicates US991 while your post indicates US911 ... (there is an 811 but no 911 I don't believe).

BUT, you state you installed TWRP on a locked bootloader ... ? Hmm ... Let's hope you didn't screw up your phone permanently - you sure it isn't bootloader unlocked already ... ?

Sorry my bad, i don't know how to use Linux.
I flash twrp with QLIF in 9008 mode, flash file laf and recovery(twrp) and that works.
But i flash custom rom it stuck in boot animation. I flash stock rom h811, it works fine but error with camera and sound (may be more). How to solve?

now you have TWRP intsalled u can clean flash costume rooms
