Call Log: Answered Remotely - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

Today I returned a call to my wife. Later I checked the call log, and it said "Answered Remotely" in green text, instead of displaying her number like it usually does.
I called back, and asked her about it, she didn't do anything special, she says. We continued to talk a bit, and the call was dropped. She tried calling back twice, but the calls hung up as soon as I answered. The call log for those two inbound calls to me says "Answered Remotely" as well. It seems to be random.
What is going on? I have never seen that before.

It might be a malware, but I'm also experiencing the same issue. I'm concerned my contacts are attempting to spy on me or something, like wtf

Missed Calls Indicator Problem

I'm using a custom made homescreen. I'm using the missed calls plug in and I have it set up to be visible all the time to display:
"0 Missed Call(s)"
Yesterday I started experiencing some problems with it. But I don't think it has to do with the homescreen. Since I have tried others and I experience the same issue. Here is my problem:
Every time I turn off my phone and turned back on. The number that indicates how many missing calls I have, just goes away. Instead of reading: "0 Missed Call(s)" it reads " Missed Call(s)"
Now, when somebody calls me and I don't pick up the phone. That number comes back and my phone indicates how many missed calls I have, for example: "2 Missed Call(s)." Also, If I access the "Call History" the indicator comes back. At least I know when I get a missed call. It's just very annoying to be doing that all the time I turn on my phone.
I've tried to soft reset my phone a couple of times but that didn't help. I haven't made any changes to my phone recently. A while ago I was having this problem. But I ended up removing MyFavs from the startup folder and that fixed the problem. Now I don't now what the problem is.
I would like to know if any of you knows how to fix this problem without hard reseting my phone. And if there's no way. Would any body please tell me if there is a way to backup all the text-messages (without using dashwire.com).
Thank you!

T-Mobile Issue

Hey,
really big problem-
my texts are being delayed loads sometimes, as in the person doesnt receive them till like an hour later. usually when I text them again they both come through at once.
also I sometimes dont receive texts till like an hour after theyve been sent, usually they come in a batch.
also, when people tried ringing me today they couldnt connect and it said "your call is being diverted" or something.
whats going on?

Have you asked T-Mobile?
I kind of have a similar problem, sometimes.
Yesturday it took 4 hours for people to get my texts, i find turning phone on and off helps.
I just put it down to t-mobile reception being all over the place.

[Q] Anyone having random SMS drops?

I'm running Calk's rom with the Rogue Outlaw kernel right now, but it's been happening ever since I first got the phone, even before I rooted. Sometimes incoming or outgoing texts just won't arrive...it's like they just disappear. I don't think it's an LOS issue, because I still have full bars, instead of the "no" circle.
Is this happening to anyone else? Am I just missing something?
Yep, happens to me every now and then, if I reboot the phone, I get them.
Only way I know I get them is I use google voice, so texts come to my phone and my computer. I hear my computer go, and I wait for them on my phone, never show up.
Oh, good call. I've noticed that if I send texts through the google voice app, they always go through, but if I try stock, handcent or Go SMS they just randomly drop, or show up hours later. Called Sprint, and they said that there weren't any service issues.
No idea what's going on, but it's annoying as hell.

[Q] GNex Randomly Making Phone Calls?

Hey guys,
Something really random just happened to me today. I was sleeping with my VZN Galaxy Nexus on my night stand when all of the sudden I heard a noise coming from my phone. I woke up and looked at it and noticed it was making a call to some number that starts with a "+2" and it was about 23 seconds into the call. I heard it say something that sounded like "Please wait while we prepare your photograph".
Needless to say, I freaked out and ended the call... but when I went to the call log that call was not there!
Has anyone had this happen to them or know what could be causing this?
Curious that you mention this; I was about to make a thread on the topic. Mine made a call around 6:30 AM CST. The number is *22899 and it's a number that you dial to update your PRL ("Please wait while your phone is being programmed"); it's the same as dialing *228 and hitting option 2. That said, I've never experienced a phone making the update by itself before.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
Very weird indeed. That's around the same time my phone made the call... I guess I could see how I heard "prepare your photograph" instead of "being programmed" since I didn't have the phone up to my ear.
Anyone else?
Just a quick note, I noticed on Engadget that Verizon is having some data outages across the US. Maybe this has something to do with it?

Same here but mine happened at like 4 am or something. I had no idea wtf was going on...
Might be. I was going to add that I wasn't able to connect to the network at all this morning (though I've had an intermittent 3G signal just recently). I didn't even know they could remotely initiate a call like that; sort of creepy.
This just happened to me. Call is not in my recent calls list, it just automatically conencted. FYI I'm in the DC area so maybe its just something Verizons doing in different areas.
Just happened to me as well @ 2:30am PST. Happened twice actually. I ended the first call and the second one completed activation and hung up on its own. Odd.
Just happened to me TWICE again last night at 3AM... I had Data turned off completely too.
So I ended the call and 1 minute later it did it again.
I ended the second call and put it in Airplane mode for only a few seconds, then it never dialed any more last night
(I turn off Data when I go to sleep at night)

[Q] Issue with call logs

AT&T LK7 rom stock with Perseus kernel "alpha 34".
I'm having an issue with my call log. It's not showing all the incoming calls. Whether I answer it or reject it, doesn't matter. I've received 7 calls today, answered 3, let one ring and rejected one, and two were auto-rejected. Only the two auto-rejected calls show up. None of the other calls are showing on my call log, even the 3 I answered, one of which was a 10-minute long call.
I did a factory reset about a month ago, but it was doing this before then, too, AND it was doing it before I installed Perseus kernel.
Anybody have an idea what's going on?
Edit: Seems like it's a fairly common issue on 4.1.2. I did some Googling around and found that if you rotate into landscape in the call logs, the missing logs show up. I guess that works as a work-around for now.
