Hold Volume Down + Power untill you see bootloader.
reboot device in recovery and perform the full wipe. and reboot.
Post the OUTPUT here. if still having issue.
The same problme, I think...
I have a M8s that does the same. It started with an "unsuccessful encryption" problem. It didn't even go into recovery. Then I tried "fastboot erase cache", "fastboot oem task 28" and 29. Now it gets into recovery but remains stuck on logo in normal boot sequence. I also tried to wipe everything, got a lot of errors (image links, because I don't know how to attach imgs). Locked and S-On. Cant unlock because it won't boot.

hi have anybody know have can we get prolem
i have also same phone i can not install recovery can anybody help me what must i do now?
my fastboot not working anymore my phone in now relock i have try also unlock but not working
try to flash with sd card.
power off phone and your rom.zip file to sd card and rename your rom file to according to supported image.
insert sd card into phone and hold VOL- and POWER.
you phone will power on into hboot and will check for zip file. if not check then select fastboot and hboot again. if still not check for zip file and does not start flashing then you have problem with zip file or wrong name of zip file.
2nd method
unlock your bootloader and flash twrp recovery.
download stock backup of your device in to computer.
power off your phone. hold VOL- and POWER and it will start into hboot select recovery and you will be there.
in twrp select backup. and check any option, once it complete go back, and slect mounth and mount data partition.
now you will access your data partition in computer.
open twrp folder and replace the stock backup extracted files into folder where twrp was saved backup file. once completed. unmount data partition and go back and select restore. and restore stock twrp backup that you copied. after complete restore. now you can reboot your device. and now you will be able to see your phone back to working condition.

By direct access to emmc. Any ideas how to bring it alive ?
Download right ruu for your phone and flash. Check your CID first
In CMD write fastboot getvar all
You will get all info about phone and current software.

That's SuperCID.
I think that he was S-OFF before and dunno how he became S-On. That may be the reason unlockcode.bin isn't working for him.

Are you tryed to flash custom recovery like Philz and what is the result howw is recognised your phone in device manager?
Lol I think the device is now f+cked up.
Could be now some partition error and nothing except of changing mainboard will work

No , i am not shure that device with locked will run unsigned code. But will try tomorrow , device battery almost empty and i left it on charger. Maybe problem is HBOOT = 1.39 i need to find hboot with lover version for direct burning.

Device are S-OFF and CID = 1111111 before , than device have been bricked by wrong hboot.
I am wrote dump from fully working device except board information region and software information region.
I thing need lower hboot version.
Can you try to write another Cid and see if it still works? If yes also try just flashing recovery or so through fastboot...so custom recovery...if that maybe works then with custom recovery and any backup you could get it working...if not hm...will think about what you could do

I'm running TWRP v2.7.0.0 as any newer versions couldn't load due to hboot (required 3.18/3.19). When trying to adb sideload (to restore to a stock WWE-Asia, 4.16.401.10_stock_system_dumb.zip (no clue what system dump is btw)) stops at while loading to 100%. Nothing ensues. Trying to restore a nandroid is noway achievable as a external USB is not recognised. ( file is a zip file. ). An RUU.exe is also out of the question as I only have Macs. Finally, impossible to load anything else as only cache can be mounted. Always getting the error /cache , /system , /data not found. Really need help pl0x.
Boot into fastboot and post the output of fastboot getvar all (but leave out the IMEI and serial number)
We can go from there

Going by your CID, this is the right RUU
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B17smFr95pleZnVPZ2xGemhjY3M/view
To flash it:
1. Relock your bootloader - fastboot oem lock
2. Download the RUU (obviously)
3. Run it as Administrator
4. Connect the phone in fastboot mode
5. Follow the instructions
It should go through fine and once finished you'll be on Lollipop

I'm downloading it now so I can extract the ZIP file, gimme a few minutes...
EDIT: OK, this should work but you'll need a microSD card...
1. Download this file - https://www.hightail.com/download/UlRSZGlxeFg5eFY3czhUQw (md5: 1CEC06D4CFF763DF30642F17D4C39103)
2. Rename it 0P6BIMG.zip (not 0P6BIMG.zip.zip!)
3. Put it into the root of the microSD card
4. Boot the phone into HBOOT
5. It should read the card and ask if you want to update. Use power to select 'Yes'
6. Allow update to finish
Once finished it should reboot and be back to Lollipop

it flashes immediately after booting but however stops when it is parsing. still stuck at 'HTC' boot logo
You'll see a bar go up on the right hand side of the screen when it's loading the ZIP and then it'll just start flashing once you select 'Yes'. Once finished, it'll say done and it might sit at the HTC screen for a bit whilst it builds the cache so just give it time...

Make sure your bootloader is relocked because you have S-On device.
Same as flashing firmware.zip, you need to do it twice because you're updating firmware too, not only ROM
Press & hold both power button & volume up button, when it goes blank quickly release both buttons and press & hold volume down button. This will take you to hboot and repeat the flashing procedure again.
The RUU doesn't need it twice (OP has a Mac so is doing it via SD card). It reboots the phone automatically when required. It's only when flashing manually in RUU mode do you have to do i twice (unless you're using htc_fastboot in which case it waits for the reboot and carries on without your input )
EddyOS said:
You'll see a bar go up on the right hand side of the screen when it's loading the ZIP and then it'll just start flashing once you select 'Yes'. Once finished, it'll say done and it might sit at the HTC screen for a bit whilst it builds the cache so just give it time...

when i load it into hboot it says,
SD checking...
No gift file...
Loading... [0P6BDIAG.zip]
No image!
Loading... [0P6BIDAG.nbh]
No image or wrong image!
Loading... [0P6BIMG.zip]
after the blue bar at the top right loads, 'flashing zip file' appears and below the rest of the previous messages in green 'signature checking' appears. Finally after the green bar at the top right loads it says 'Parsing...' and then it goes straight back to the hboot menu. No yes/no prompt...

RUU yes ... ROM.zip maybe because I read that somewhere before ... something about flashing in RUU mode VS the sdcard method
To see whether this is needed or not, OP needs to see what's written on hboot
The OS read something like 1.57.707.7 (4.19.707.2) or blank (4.19.707.2) usually in red color, then needs a repeat of procedure.
You need to relock bootloader before continue with the procedure. Your screenshot still show "UNLOCKED" not "RELOCKED"
fastboot oem lock
If you're not compatible doing this ... let us know, you also can use a nandroid backup & its stock recovery but you need to do multiple OTA updates and no need to relock bootloader

okay just did this and it now says,
*** RELOCKED ***
*** Security Warning ***
so do i go with another attempt with the HBOOT flashing?
Yes ... should work now
Hello I just bought an m8 on aliexpress (took a while to get to me...) and when I first turned it on I noticed that it was already rooted (it is refurbished and they send it that way. It is new but rooted) and is on android 4.4.4, pretty old. There are a lot of improvements with the updates from htc but when I search for the option on the settings it is not there, it should, but it isn't there. So, I want to get it updated with the RUU which I think shoud be the safest option (I don't really care to lose root) but the thing is I don't really know what RUU I am supposed to get! The phone is supposed to be unlocked. This is the information I got with "getvar all"

I don't really know what was done to the phone, and actually my main reason to do this is to update it to lollipop and be able to keep upgrading. If someone can help me with that I would really apreciate it!
First of all it's a verizon phone, secondly it's S-Off and has SuperCID already, interesting.
luckily for you, you just have to download this https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934538714
if you want non verizon rom e.g no bloat and crap like that, I'll help you further, but first you must run the RUU.

Good luck, have fun.

Why do you hide an inportant info modelid ? You should remove serial & imei no as they are sensitive info.
Flashing firmware alone won't upgrade your OS.
Install 4.16.401.10 RUU to upgrade your OS (but this will wipe everything on internal storage) - get it here : http://androidruu.com/?developer=M8
Or you can use 4.16.401.10 nandroid backup to upgrade the OS (this will not wipe your internal storage) - get it from link in my signature
i didn't hide nothing

To run a RUU .. you need USB2.0 and latest HTC USB driver installed. If not sure, download HTC Sync Manager - http://www.htc.com/us/support/software/htc-sync-manager.aspx
install it as it will install the latest HTC USB driver then uninstall the HTC Sync Manager but leave the driver.
Also check whether your Win 10 has these 2008 C++ installed. You may need them too.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. Turned out I was installing the wrong update. I am using Verizon version in Pakistan and it can only be updated in the US by the carrier. Would appreciate if anybody helps regarding this.

Moin Guys
Firstyl: Sorry, i wasn't here or a Long time so im not up to date and like a dummy again
My Problem:
I have a HTC One M8 Dual Sim (unbranded). I Rooted it and flashed twrp on it. 2 days ago i was so dumb and tried a ota update. to dumb, that it won't work with twrp on it. So i flashed a stock recovery and tried to update. afterwards there was just the Htc logo for a Long time. so i flashed twrp back on it and restored my last backup. flashed stock recovery again and tried again. but now in the update Screen theres just a red ! (look at the Picture downside). i cant update it anymore.
My Question:
I googled and searched for the last 2 days, but i wasn't able to find a good solution. I want to go back to stock as far as possible. But i cant find all ressources i Need. i already took this recovery over here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/htc-one-m8-dual-sim-european-version-t2816991
i need a Htc one m8 DUAL SIM stock recovery and OS. Can i go to androd 6.0 directly? with a ota for it?

Greetings, Aivilon
Hi Guys
I made it. I just visited http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/tutorial-how-to-stock-stock-twrp-t3086860 and downloaded nandroid Backup 6.16.401.101_ckpv5.zip and the Bootloader for it.
After a Backup from the running System i restored the nand from ckpv5 (Thank you at this part for your collection!!!!)
It runs. Didn't know that this will work. thought i have to do the ota that anything gets an update. but till now anything runs...
The MM ROM runs is correct but your bootloader is most probably is on the lower version.
Put fastboot getvar all result again ... maybe I can help to update your firmware too if needed
Followed the (excellent) guide step by step but am stuck at step 12
When I reboot it says "your phone is encrypted"
Obviously I have no idea of the code. I have factory reset again but same issue. I am now at minus 3 decryption attempts (in other words I have tried 33 times)
Any idea how to disable encryption ?

OK, solved my own problem thanks to Gary Maskell : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQM6KIDr4-k
I needed to do a full format through TWRP at some point in the process. Since I was wiping everything anyway, I wasn't concerned about data loss. Should you need to do the same, please ensure that you have saved everything you need first
Big thanks to @ckpv5 and @avilon as well as to Gary

Thank You. I am now waiting for you response.
You need these steps :
1. Change your current modelid: 0P6B6**** to 0P6B10000
How-to read this - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708581
If you can boot to recovery (not sure twrp 3.0 can work on KitKat, if can't install twrp 2.8.3.0)
Then run command adb shell
Skip command su
Then the rest for Europe MID codes
2. Install RUU - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64926626&postcount=6
There is a shortcut way with flashing firmware only but seems you're new to this, installing RUU is a better option
3. Install twrp 3.2.1.0
4. Install your Oreo ROM

Your getvar show you successfully changed MID as said in step 1.
But you skip step 2 and install lineage 14.1, this won't work & explained the bootloop.
Do step 2 then post fastboot getvar all. Once ok then only do step 3 & later step 4 install lineage OS

thanks My phone is working with Marshmallow. I want to move on oreo.......How I can move on to it, and please suggest me a best rom thanks.
Follow step 3 then step 4 as you completed step 1 & 2.
I can't suggest a best rom as I usually on my own customized ROM, but now I'm on Oreo LOS 15.1 and there's only one Oreo LOS 15.1 that openly public release for now.

ckpv5 graciously gave you all the steps required to update the firmware and install an Oreo ROM. Why are you skipping steps? Just follow them all. He wouldn't post it, if you didn't need to do it. Why would you only follow half the advice given to you, and expect it to work properly?
