Tweks build.prop [No-Lag] G531H - Galaxy Grand Prime Themes and Apps

Especially for G531H
Talk about Build.Prop, one of the most important files on your phone, where you save the values that make it work the way you do.
Whenever we talk about customizing an Android terminal, we usually talk about changing the ROM and some kernel parameters. The build.prop, despite being even more modifiable than the above, is one of the great forgotten. This buil.prop, is a file that contains properties and configurations of the compilation of our Android. Some parameters are added by the manufacturer, and others depend on the hardware of your device and the Android base itself.
As you can imagine, to modify a file of such caliber requires root permissions, and that is necessary write permissions. By default, build.prop comes only in read mode, so we do not change anything by mistake.
☆ Just flash it via recovery
[Tweks]
☆Increase dalvik cache to avoid some FC.
☆Increase performance.
☆To increase the buffer size of Internet connections and improve speed.
☆Forcing launcher in memory (always keeps the launcher in memory allowing him back from applications faster).
☆Improved quality jpeg 100%.
☆Increased virtual RAM memory.
☆Render the system interface with the GPU.
☆Scroll scrolling enhancement (can be edited a little higher or lower according to likes).
☆Improve Screen Response.
☆Improved image quality and video 100%.
You can try it in G530XXXXXXXX or G531XXXXXXXXX and Rom's AOSP: Just add the text of the file that will leave you (Tweaks.txt) in the build.prop below each line has, space and handles. I'll leave you an example ...

If your on G531H model just download the already edited build.prop that is supported by your device and flash it via recovery.
And if your on device that is not G531H (like G530H, G530A etc.) Download the Tweaks.txt . Open the text file and copy all the texts in there. After that using any Root explorer mount /system as RW and goto /system and first make a backup of your current build.prop and after that open up the build.prop file and paste the text that you copied and reboot your device to see the changes.

[MOD] HC custom build.prop - Updated: 1/29/12

***Warning Dragons Ahead!!*** Do this at your own risk, I am just providing the files / scripts and can not be held responsible for any harm done to your device. It's working great for me but your results may vary, but again I am not responsible for any damage or problems you might encounter by using this mod.
This mod will not stop the ota updater from working properly and may even help pull in updates, this one should work on all builds.. It will change your build number and tab name unfortunatly there is no fix for this since the market uses this info to determine which apps to display.
Be sure to back up your original build.prop before doing this mod!!!
This mod is for HoneyComb Only
(to backup simply copy your origional build.prop file to an alternate location like /mnt/sdcard).
A little about the build.prop file and what it does:
Your build.prop file contains a lot of information about your tab. Things like what model, version of android, manufacturer and other info can be found within, but it also can control certain aspects such as display density, wifi scan time and other misc tweaks that improve overall smoothness.
This build.prop file contains the following changes:
# Makes the market and apps think your a100 is really an a500 (letting you find and buy more apps then what you'd normally see in the market)
# Speed up UI (smoother flinging)
# Battery saving tweaks
# Inet optimization tweeks
# Additional tweaks to fine tune the touch screen (still has the double letter issue when typing too fast)
# Additional tweaks to improve battery saving while tablet sleep
# Added LCD Density (you can change to smaller icons and higher virtual resoolution by lowering the density (see inside of build.prop file)
# Reorganized the build.prop file and included comments for the various tweeks
# Added settings to improve image quality when taking pictures and recording video and speed up bootimes (just by a few seconds) [thanks to tehgyb of xda]
# Added settings to improve streaming media streaming (improves youtube preformance) [thanks to Icewyng of xda]
# Added settings to improve app compatibility (less fc's) [thanks to Icewyng of xda]
Requirments: (things you'll need before doing this mod) You'll need to be rooted and have root explorer installed. (or some other method of copying the build.prop file to /system)
Instructions:
- Open root explorer and navigate to /system and tap the mount r/w button
- Unzip the file and put build.prop in /system (be sure to make a backup copy first!)
- Reboot and watch your tab fly even faster!
If you have problems finding apps in the market (such as gameloft games) try clearing the cache for market.
-----------------------------------
If you'd like the terminal commands (if you cant figure out any other way to copy and dont have root explorer), let me know and Ill work up the commands and post them.
WOWWW !! Awesome MOD !! Very fast tab !!
very nice
thank you so much! finally we got some attention in the dev department, and i really do appreciate it
will tast it later and report back.
Crossix, you genius ha ha! Oh I do love tweaks like this, I grew up tweaking Linux distros like this, excellent progress on tweaking our humble little tablet

man crossix if it weren't for all your mods I probably would've gone insane with this tablet. I didn't know you had more up your sleeve. Thanks for the awesome work!!!
---------- Post added at 11:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:48 PM ----------
also guys if you don't wanna use root explorer (not sure if its free now) but you can use ES Explorer go to settings and check root explorer and mount system boxes. Then you can copy the file over or edit the build.prop yourself.
crossix this looks awesome, i will be doing this after work today, thank you so much for your work!
i know its kind of off topic but is it at all possible you or someone could post the acer sync.apk from Acer_A100_2.007.04_COM_GEN_1? its located in /system/app. I didnt know it handled the exchange portion of the rom, so i uninstalled it and titanium backup just hangs on restoring it for me
thanks again for everything!
Anyone try this on gen2 yet?
Sent from my thunderbolt using tapatalk
it would change the build number of the current running rom and potentially cause a softbrick with some of the extra's acer put in. You can try it, just make sure you have a working recovery method before you do!
If you've borked your recovery so that none of the update.zip files are recognized (you get the red spin forever error) then you'll need to look at the bootloader thread in the general section for a working recovery image (probably should make that another topic in this dev section).

Funny, now cause it thinks it is a A500 I got an OTA update notification, which I ignored since I do not want to brick my A100 LOL!!
Does this mod give you the Astro file manager that breaks down the sections of storage areas like when it is installed on the A500? Super handy how it had it broken down to Internal/External SD/USB storage sections, instead of having to navigate to \mnt\sdcard or \mnt\external_sd

Um, no.. I have no idea what that is. This mod just make the market and any apps you install think your running a a500. It doesn't give you any extra functionality in the apps that come with the tab. Also, if you have wifi disabled while your tab is turned off there's hardly any battery usage. After sitting for 8hrs today I had 96% battery left, .5% an hour ain't bad at all.

I use Astro myself, I don't know as I haven't tried this but if you uninstall it and reinstall it you may well get the tablet version, now thinking you're running an a500?

[MOD][TWEAKS][BUILD.PROB][TIPS] for MIUI JB

I saw a MOD earlier for the CM10 and i thought why not make one ONLY for the MIUI JB.
follow these steps:
1- make a nandroid backup (optional as i tried it and it boots)
2- download attachment, extract it and place build.prob on sdcard
3- open your *root* file explorer and place it into /system , then set permissions to rw-r-r
4- reboot to recovery and wipe cache, dalvik cache and fix permissions (i dont know why but i saw it is needed so just do what i said)
5- reboot and enjoy

NOTE: I didn't disable Boot animation because i personally like it and i know some people would be sad if i did.
i don't own any of these tweaks i just copied them and decided to share it with you!
TIPS:
1- Go to Rom toolbox(free from Playstore) open memory manager and choose Ultimate from the presets. It will improve multi tasking and a little bit gaming.
2- Try Forfivo's JB Kernel V1.1 i use it and it runs great.
3- I don't know what you guys prefer about governors but i personally love Smartass v2.
4- Use the SD Boost (also in Rom toolbox) boost your sd to 3072 or 2036. (i can't see difference but they say it does change something)
5- I don't actually feel difference after using my build.prob Tweak LOL, but point "1" really shows difference and smoothness.
6- I guess these are enough actually it was enough from "1"

There are to ZIP files in the attachments, don't flash any of them just follow the steps above. And use the version of your ROM the file with the name V16 is the original version and the one named V30 is the test of coliv_aja so make sure you know which one you are using.
And please put in mind that if you already have build.prob tweaks backup them before you replace them with this, because this is the build.prob fresh from the ROM tweaked, so you will lose your tweaks(if you had any).

Great app! Do these get backed up somehow during a rom update? I don't see a script in addon.d but I guess my own would work, as CarbonRom dropped the Omni Soundpacks feature so I made a backup script after applying the sounds manually. This app would save quite a bit of work if changing sounds now and again! Would it be possible to add the option to choose a zip on the user's device? I ask as I've downloaded some excellent soundpacks but adjusted the volume of certain sounds to my liking and re-zipped.

I have Note 3 SM-N9005 (hlte), running CarbonRom latest nighlty. It used to have the Soundpacks feature from Omni but they reverted it in favour of CM Theme engine soundpacks (even though there is no ui sounds in any theme yet!)
I have tested this app with my set up successfully. After being asked to allow a reboot, which I did, the chosen soundpack was working and when I chose to restore, I rebooted myself and it was back to normal.
*edit* I chose "stock and other"

Thanks for your reply. I think i need add reboot alert to the restore function to.
Chose sound pack from device:
Sound pack supported devices: there is no problem. There is a file (audio_assets) it define witch sound is for witch function.
Write direct to system: if i unzip a sound pack i can only use this sounds named right. ( camera_click, camera_focus, Effect_Tick etc)
else i got no sound from system. so i need alert an error like ( sound pack isnt supported )
What you think about this?

Yes, I understand they have to have the same name as in the rom's ui folder or have the audio_assets file. I guess whichever method is most user friendly! I'm just an enthusiast myself but have learned a lot about modifying my devices from xda, not all users will have the same level of understanding so whatever you feel is the easiest for the user, I guess. No worries, it worked fine for the soundpacks within the app. UI is excellent, nice and simple. The only error I noticed was "Chosoe Soundpack" instead of "Choose Soundpack". Other than that, it's perfect and seems like an excellent way to bring soundpacks to roms that don't have it!

how to change hardware device name

hey guys,
this might be a more broader android question, but either way: is there a way to change the hardware device name of a device?
i.e. my issue is the following - i use the "good for work" application for my work emails. My company basically has every manufacturer added to their approved list (HTC, Samsung, even Nexus devices work no problem). Now that I have my sweet OP3, I get the below error message (pic attached)
"the device hardware version is 'oneplus a3000 android 6.0.1' and is not permitted. Install the application on a permitted device."
now - before you tell me to go to my network admins and have the device added - I can't do that for reasons I won't go into here. Basically i want to understand if there's a way to change certain files on the phone that will make this application think it's a nexus device and clear it.
I tried editing the build.prop file (using twrp and adb - since I don't have root) to remove all mention of oneplus, etc. and replacing with "nexus" or something else (used the build.prop file from my 5x for reference). But the app still does not work and the OP3 still shows the model as One Plus 3 in the "about phone" section. This is really fascinating to me. What is driving this device's identity?
Appreciate any thoughts/suggestions you might have.
Try xposed mods... I think it is possible

post this in Q&A
@piotrus22, If you correctly modified your build prop then it's almost impossible to come as Oneplus name in about section of setting.
as far as I know the name in about section is read from build prop.
can you provide link to your modified build.prop file so i can see what's a problem.
Have you applied correct permissions (rw-r--r-- or 0644) to build prop after side loading
Go to your Bluetooth settings, select the menu, and Rename this device.

thanks @JumboMan. attached are both build.props (edited and non-edited). I ran the command "adb shell chmod 644 /system/build.prop" after I pushed the file onto the phone. I believe it worked because I added the line about LCD density (ro.sf.lcd_density=420) and the density did indeed change. Also - I am able to view the updated build.prop in a file browser when I open the phone with the changes I've made.
...still confused...

I have carefully inspected build.prop file and i found that build.prop doesn't have "ro.product.model" line . That's why you are not able to change device name.
So if you have to change device name you have to manually add above line with whatever device name you want and push file to phone and apply proper permissions
e.g ro.product.model=device name you want
In your case above line will look like ro.product.model=Nexus 5x
Though not required, change lines containing OnePlus to your custom device name

ok - making progress here. the model name now shows up as Nexus 5x, but when the computer recognizes the phone it still shows up as ONEPLUS A3000... and what about the build? I've tweaked everything I can think of but still can't change the build number from "ONEPLUS A3000_16_0705"
any ideas?

Yesterday I researched a lot about your question but I only found half answer.
Now Today I'm back with more build prop lines that will 100% solve your question.
This time I tested myself first before posting to confirm the changes
So here is a Trick
=====
1.To change Model Number
ro.product.model=Nexus 5x
2.To Change Build Number
ro.build.display.id=Nexus 5x
ro.build.display.full_id=Nexus 5x
ro.build.id.hardware=Nexus 5x
=====
Note - value "Nexus 5x" is used just as an example.
You change this value to anything you want.

Ok @JumboMan, so now my phone won't save video. Basically when I try to take a video with the camera app, it hangs up on the "saving" section. Then the only way to get the camera running again is to reboot. I can't believe this is related to what I did in the build.prop files right?
The driver names will ever be the real device name. So...

It may be due to build prop changes but I'm not sure. can you use 3rd party camera app check for your problem. or it only occurs with stock camera.

Third party camera app has the same problem. Will revert to original build prop and see if that fixes the issue. Will report back.

@Dethfull do you know which items in the build prop coordinate to the drivers for the camera?
ok so I think I fixed it. I played around with the build.prop file and it appears changing the ro.product.manufacturer =OnePlus back from Nexus5 did the trick. Camera seems to be much faster than before and videos can save now, and the Good app still works.
Will update if things change but hopefully not!

Disable start-up Sound -Boot-

I've tried apps and the only way is to put the phone on DND

If you're using stock I don't think it's possible, maybe by editing build.prop or any other files manually but I don't know what file and what to modify...
Most sense based roms have this option in their settings app, e.g: Viper Tweaks on ViperOneM9.
