I'm planning on doing a tablet install in-car, and was wondering instead of cutting the frame to size, am I able to adjust the screen size so it fits a 6.4 frame?
Thanks
Anyone?

3.6inches doesn't say much when you can stretch the Lengh and Width. Can someone tell me in inches how wide and tall is the 3.6 inche screen? I want to compare it to my Touch Pro screen.
Reason is I use Pocket Informant and when in calender mode it be comes almost unreadable with the small text. But yet on my old Pocket PC which had VGA 3.5in screen, the calender was readable where I would see the date and times in the calender view.
My TP= 1 and 3/4in wide by 2 and 1/4in tall.
my LOOX= 2in wide by 2 and 3/4in tall.
My TP2 screen is 1 and 7/8 inches wide by 3 and 7/8 inches tall

Hmm I wish it was a bit wider, but 1 and 7/8 is kinda close to 2inches.. I wonder if that's enough more to fit enough characters width wise to make it useable..
Well your TP screen resolution is 480 x 640, my TP2 is 480 x 800, so in effect it's a taller screen with pretty much the same width & same resolution, I dont think you'll notice the missing 1/8 of an inch!
Joe
Well the 480 doesn't mean it's the same width. You could have a wider screen wit less pixel density. Which is why I wanted to know the exact screen size to measure. Yours is a little wider than mine. so I'm hoping the extra space will allow more characters to be filled on the calender screen. When reading left to right. I know up/down it'll have more space per date.

I did a screen compare. Unless I'm totally off on the screen size. I hate conversion from "in" to "mm".
I can see why Pocket inoformant calender view was so readable on the Loox. And so small on the TP(It's not a TP2, It renamed it to TP2). The Tilt2 is large in height, but just a little wider than my TP. I wonder if this means my calander would look really tall?
Anyway to to reduce the screen from 7" to 6" somehow? Want to fit it to display in a 6.4 frame?
Hope you understand, thanks!

This explains it pretty well. You may have to change the DPI or density to match resolution.
Could someone give me the dimensions of the screen after it's been removed from the case?
Trying to determine if it'll fit in a custom panel or not.
Probably not, but hopefully someone can measure height & width to within 1/8" for me so I can find out for sure.
Like the red arrows in the pic below (which is just a random tablet pic).
But not counting any mounting tabs.
Don't care about those because if there are any, they'll be ground off so the panel could be glued in place instead.
Thanks!
With the tablet dimensions then you should be able to workout the required dimensions from this picture https://d3nevzfk7ii3be.cloudfront.net/igi/Yupwpwtw3O4HnDBf. Image from the ifixit teardown at https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Google+Pixel+C+Teardown/62277

Thanks, that actually helped!
I used this online "ruler" to measure pixel height/width of the bezel vs. the LCD screen on that picture:
http://www.rapidtables.com/web/tools/pixel-ruler.htm
Bezel is 969 pixels wide
Screen is 882 pixels wide = .91 of 969
Bezel is 716 pixels tall
Screen is 659 pixels tall = .92 of 716
OEM Bezel dimensions = 9.53" x 7.05"
These dimensions are per this link:
http://www.phonearena.com/phones/size#/phones/size/Google-Pixel-C,Google-Nexus-9/phones/9677,8926
So that gives me the following calculations and results.
9.53 x .91 = 8.67"
7.05 x .92 = 6.49"
So, looks like the screen is about 8.67" x 6.49".
That's a good 1/2" taller than I can handle in my custom panel.
Guess I'm stuck with using a Nexus 9 and its not-quite-as-bright LCD.
Unless I wanted to do some heavy fiberglassing to make my opening larger for the larger LCD of the Pixel C.
Dangit.
Swore I saw this somewhere in the forum but can't find it now - can you adjust the vertical height of the screen and basically cutoff the top .25" or so and give yourself back a bezel? Coming from a 2xl which now in hindsight is the perfect sized phone for me and this thing is just too big to use one handed comfortably and securely (but also want the camera and the 512gb storage).
Did I make this up or can I just kill off the top 150-200 pixels or whatever and make the reach a bit less? If so any major downside there?
The command is "wm size {width}x{height}" so try something like "wm size 1440x2880". The setting persists across reboots. Use "wm size reset" to return to original.
Good morning all,
It is possible to change the cover screen ratio as some app not ready adapting to default ratio (ex, snapchat)
