HTC10 search bar interruption - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

Everytime when I type into the Google Search bar (called from holding the home button), usually before I could finish typing, my keyboard would disappear along with the text I've typed up to that point. To re-call the keyboard I'd have to tap on the search bar again and retype my query again. Anyone know what's wrong?

[Q] 2.1-style Search Behavior in 2.2? (pressing Search button twice)

If you are in mail, gmail, market or any application and press the Search button it goes to the search bar for that specific application. In 2.1, if you were to press the Search button a 2nd time, it changes the search bar to the global search. In 2.2, it simply hides the search bar.
Anyone know how this behavior can be replicated in 2.2?

Search problems.

Example:
When I press the search button, and slide out the keyboard, I tried to search "android market", instead it does this, "android m" then when I press the "a" key again it highlights the rest of it instead of entering the letter "a." Then if its still highlighted and you press the letter "v" it copys it and pastes it again. Keep pressing "v" it keeps pasting it. This is a major problem. Anyone else experience this, or try and see if it happens to you?

Well I pressed menu while on the search screen, and press the search key again(with nothing entered into the text field) now it works.

[Q] Some typing questions

Hi, I am looking for clues to change some settings of the keyboard when typing. I mean, is there a way (or a trick) to:
1. get pop-up letters (e.g. I press and hold "a" and so it pop-ups "á", "ä", ...) to appear faster;
2. get direction arrows to repeat movement when I press and hold them;
3. and also when using search and during typing there are suggestions, so I hit one of them and could still continue adding additional words into search sentence instead having whatever app to executes search just with the hit word(s)?
Thanks.

[Q] Strange HW-Keyboard behavior

Hi,
im using the i927 with OsiMood-Rom.
Today its the second time, that my hardware keyboard behaves a bit strange:
- When I press "e" the Email App opens
- When I press "b" the browser opens
First time I got it "repaired" with a reboot, for now a re-open of the keyboard helped.
What is going on there?
That is not a weird behaviour but a feature. It's called "Quick Launch" and is started by pressing and holding the search button on hw keyboard plus any key in the hw keyboard. the "E" key is the default for email (press "Search" + "E" = Email), you can modify this in settings > applications > quick launch
Thanks, I mentioned that it's something like this but I didn't know what other button activates the shortcut or where to disable it

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Like me, you might be using the "Search" button (either soft/hardware keys) to launch apps a lot.....most of the time, I end up pressing search plus the first character of an app i want to launch that results in pressing the two keys almost at the same time. That is how I accidentally discovered it....
I was like searching the "Email app" then I accidentally pressed the "E" key while the "Search" key is pressed then I went "How did this thing know that I want to launch Email?"
Press your search key again on your keyboard it is stuck. Happened to me once or twice. Quick launch is launching your short cuts that are programmed because it thinks you are hitting a 2 key combination. (Search and E)

[Q] Dragging up from home button/long pressing home button won't lead to Google Now.

As the title says, when I drag from the home button to the search icon or long press the home button, nothing happens. Google Now doesn't open. What am I doing wrong? I disabled/deleted a few of the bloatware apps that came with the phone (non rooted). Any ideas?
