Has anyone found a working ir-blaster , either 3.5 audio socket or usb-c, I've tried 2 headphone socket ir-blasters from e-bay with no luck.
Thanks in advance for any help.
At least, I found this one fully working!
Sorry to publish links, but I don't know another way!

The zazaremote witch pilots the IR is not very easy to understand, but It really works!

Does no1 else see the need in someone producing a 1male -2female splitter for our phone considering we do not have a seperate hdmi connection. It would be great to use the otg cable along with hdmi. So we can use keyboard and mouse hookup to the tv etc.... Ive looked all over the internet for one and have not come across one yet. So if anyone is capable of making one i will be your first customer. lol
if you notice, on those MHL to HDMI connectors, they all provide a spare microUSB port in the adapter, so that you can continue to hook up more stuff to your phone, and charger your phone
the spare port is for a micro USB power input. the video out display will not work if it isnt plugged in, at least mine won't. Bluetooth controller maybe?
thanks for the replies
I guess i will have either pay someone to make one or wait to see if there will be a demand for it. Thanks again for the replies
Hi i wonder where i can buy a microusb splitter for my phone so that i can use, both usb keyboard and hdmi cable together. I just tried keyboard+mouse using a usb hub, and it worked fine...
does it even exist?
Sorry, but this can't work. When the phone is putting out HDMI, the USB can't be used as it takes the same connector pins. You can do what you want with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse, but sorry, not with wired.
try to find the smallest hub there is, that's the closest you will get to a usb splitter that works. Just splitting will never work, the signals have to be divided with some intelligence.
/edit... never mind didn't read the MHL/HDMI part... don't think that will work
I am also intrested in this topic. I want to plug in the HDMI cable and s remote controler. I want to use my phone as a media center.

You flat out can't; it is a limitation of the more common MHL implementation, and the Galaxy Nexus uses this MHL implementation.
Samsung had to use a new kind of MHL connection for the Galaxy S 3 to make this exact scenario possible.
*edit* You can plug in an HDMI cable and use a bluetooth remote, though, if that might work for your needs.
with all the coverage the motorola laptop has been getting these days (google: motorola lapdock rikomagic or motorla lapdock raspberry pi )
I got one to toy around with it my self. I'd really like it to work with MHL devices. Thats the moment I found out that MHL's micro usb in is to charge the device and get the HDMI out to work, but doesn't pass though and more usb data though. I imagine the bandwidth is too great.
So as a consolation I thought it would be cool if the lapdock's mouse and keyboard were bluetooth, then i could connect to its display with hdmi, and control the phone with the bluetooth input.
Does anyone know if there is a generic usb device that allows you to connect a USB keyboard and mouse and then transmits though bluetooth? alternatively does any one know of any relevant mods that might help me hack this together?
The problem with MHL is that it uses the electrical path from the USB connection.
The problem is not bandwidth, it's wires.
All of the funny things that plug into a micro USB connector just use the same 5 pins that are already there and repurpose them.
This includes "Carkit", which is the analog headset/ handsfree connection or MHL.
usb flash is also possible to connect and then not get what you
If you wanted to be really hard-core you could add another micro USB connector to your phone.
You'd have to pick off the USB signals as they come out of the PHY interface and before the main connector multiplexer.
Or you could get the guts out of a trashed BT keyboard and wire it to your Lapdock keyboard.
You wouldn't have to get the layout correct, you could just fix /system/usr/keylayout.

I looked and haven't found one. However, during the search I found the KBtalKing Pro mechanical keyboard that solved my problem (well, when it is officially released next month)--it will allow me to use it as my main desktop keyboard (which should be great to type on due to the use of mechanical keys), and also pairs up to 10 devices via Bluetooth as well as one main USB device (probably the main computer). Looks like I'd be able to type on my Android, iPhone 4, PC or Mac simply by pressing a couple of buttons on the keyboard to switch over.
Probably not the economical USB to BT conversion you were looking for, but it's a solution and then some.
You can check out handheldsci com/kb it looks like what you want.
Hi,
Did someone try up this handheldsci adapter ?? It looks indeed as the solution to use any input device/combo without using the usb connection (very useful for smartphones).
Wondering if we have support for:
RJ-45 Ethernet jack
microsd/SD card readers
HDMI-Out
Extra USB-A ports
An example of the device is here: https://www.amazon.ca/VAVA-Adapter-...b&qid=1563056649&s=gateway&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1
They are advertised for macbook but USB-C is obviously universal so it works with computers and stuff, wondering what kind of support we have on G8 if anyone has one to test.
I thought of this use case, use the HDMI to send to a monitor, and 2 of the usb slots for keyboard and mouse.... turn the G8 into a little laptop. I might order one to try it, in theory it could work but I have my doubts.
I didn't try the video out, but mouse and keyboard work fine through mine.

cool thanks, the video isn't even as important because wifi screen sharing is a thing too
Everything is working on my LG G8s ThinQ like before on my LG V40 ThinQ, LG G7 ThinQ.
The only problem is power drop when you connect multiple devices.
I tried an HDMI screen (it shares your Android screen and hopefully, no lags like with WiFi Screen Sharing), Ethernet connection, Microsoft multimedia keyboard (integrated touchpad on the keyboard), Western Digital My Passport and SanDisk DualDrive.
PS: The only thing I still didn't tried is Netflix via HDMI to USB-C. On my Galaxy S8 I couldn't have the images but well the sound but on my V40 it worked so, I'm wondering if LG isn't implementing Something to make it work. I must ask my manager
I found an adapter...
I was searching for an HDMI to USB-C adapter and tried a UGreen 6-in-1 adapter. It works perfectly. You can hook up your phone charger to the adapter to charge your phone while outputting to the TV/Monitor. It also has 2 USB 3.0 ports and SD/MicroSD slots. I got it to use my AKG Lyra microphone on my phone while making video calls for better audio. I've hooked my TV AND microphone to my phone so I can mount my phone on a stand and use the back (much better) camera for my calls. I use the TV to monitor the video. It works great! Search Amazon for " UGREEN USB C Hub 6 in 1 Type C to HDMI 4K " to find (I paid $25US). (New to xda and haven't posted enough to post links)
Hope this helps!

Useful informations! I was thinking about one of those things, just to try out some kind of desktop mode when/IF it will be available on LG G8s, and a simple usb-c to hdmi seems to me too limiting as melvinmajor pointed out before (power drop).
I'm looking for a charging dock/stand (wired or wireless) that will let me plug a mouse and keyboard into it to use for gaming. Anyone know of one and can share a link?

So if I understand this right your after a charging doc for your S20FE, that has USB passthrough to allow you to plug kb/mouse into that?
The Dex pad might do what I think your after -
- https://www.techradar.com/reviews/samsung-dex-pad
Or failing that, there seems to be a number of charging hubs on amazon -
Amazon.com : dex pad
Do you think something like this would work?
https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Charging-Ethernet-Compatible-Thunderbolt/dp/B07TVSLDND
Intended for MacBooks but I think it "should" do the job.
I don't think the charger itself is included, but you should be able to power it with a Samsung usb-c charger you already have. I'd recommend the 25 watt one they sell for $20 now.
I have one these coming soon...

not that the OP is still asking but I'll report back if the HDMI works allowing improved murdering of people with a wired controller.
just realised this doesn't have a power supply input.
I got this Baseus dock and althought the plastics feel kinda cheap, it gets the job done and have a great Dex experience.
