It died on me Last night when i tried to restart it,because wifi wasnt working. It shut off no problem, and when i went to turn it back on,nothing happened.
I have tried all the solutions i saw online, power button+vol up, power button + vol down, hard reset button, holding the hard reset button for some time.. also tried all these methods with the charger both plugged and unplugged from the wall socket. And nothing. not even the vibrations, not even the red light when its plugged into the wall.
I was curious since when i plug it in to my PC,it says USB device not recognised, and in Floshtool,it says that it recognised the phone, but it is connected with USB debugging off.
So when i saw that flash tool recognises it,i didnt touch any buttons, and just plugged it in to the charger, and im waiting another hour for that magical "2 hour charge" peroid before trying out all those methods above again. Do you think they will work, and if not, what else is on my palette?
Thank you,have a nice day,and a great week
Tried all the solutions after 2 hours charge, still no life out of it..

I installed the AOSP JELLY BEAN 4.1.1_r1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1765288) the other day and it was working fine. The problem is, I used it too much and the battery died on me. Fine. So I plugged it in to my pc via usb to charge it up. The Kindle fire boots to the TWRP triangle and then instantly shuts off. Well I thought maybe the battery is just really drained so I left it plugged in and went to work. Got home and it was still doing the same thing; boots to the TWRP triangle and then instantly shoots off and repeats. I unplugged the usb and tried using the outlet charger; same thing. Disconnected and tried to turn it on and nothing happens.
Figured I maybe bricked it somehow (even though i didnt update, delete, wipe anything). So I tried using the unbrick command lines...nothing. Tried the KFU cant find my device since it shuts off every 2secs.
I cannot figure out whats going on. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
Plug it into the charger and hold down the power button until it shuts off. Then wait for a 2-4 and check back on it.
Once it boots back normally make sure to update FFF and TWRP.
That didn't work. I plugged it in with the ac adapter and it wouldn't allow me to turn it off (i plugged it in then tried to turn it off). I let it sit for 8hrs and still boots up to the TWRP logo and instantly turns off and wont even turn on without it being plugged in. Thanks
Hold the power button down for 1 min it should shut off
it still does not work
Please post here some detailed instructions to turn on this device.
I'm tired of holding on and buttons in different combinations.
Sorry for bad English
If you have fff 1.4 a there really is no magic combination just simply power it off and plug it in via usb to your computer. If you do not have fff 1.4a then look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1623244
Did u leave it to charge overnight.. cos i also had the same problem, which i primarily due to low battery charge..
Connect it to the charger and let it charge if possible overnight.. then try switching it on.. it shd definitely work
Read the below link.. u will get an idea as to why it is happening

My htc one x is on cm 10 jellybean and i have been using it for a while and everything was fine. I got home with about 20% battery. I left my phone on my desk and came back after 30 minutes and my phone wouldnt turn on. I assumed that it was dead. It was very hot. I plugged it into the AC plug and nothing happened. I then tried my computer and still nothing. I was holding the power and volume when the led started to blink red. I searched online and it said that it was a overheating warning. I waited for the phone to cool and plugged it in and held the power and volume and the fastboot menu came up. I booted into recovery and then tried to restart the phone but it just wont turn on. Can anyone please help.
EDIT: the phone finally started. All that noise for nothing. Sorry for the post, mods can you please delete. Thanks

high5 I had the same problem today
Surfed on internet, chatted on Skype and downloaded about 15gigs with movies, games, books and some music ;D + charging and playing music in the meantime too.. and then KABOOOOM ;D it turns off and goes into the same scenario as yours.. It was so hot so I put it in the fridge for a half minute what an idiot..?
interesting, it will die or no? I was freaking scared when it didn't turn on..
DON'T TRY TO USE UR PHONE RAM MORE THAN UR COMPUTER'S.
Blinking red LED when charging also means your phone is completely drained.
I know there are already a LOT of topics concerning this - I have read through them all frantically, trying to find a solution before turning to asking myself.
So, here's exactly what happened, and what I've tried.
My phone was just fine, running perfectly, nice battery life. I had been running CarbonROM for about 2 months, without any issues, didn't change anything recent to this problem occurring. So one night I was at a party, and didn't have an available charger, so my phone ran out of power completely. The next morning when I came home, I set it to charge, the LED lit up, as far as I remember at least. In the evening I turned it on, and I got to the SIM pin-code unlock screen. I entered the PIN, and my phone turned off. No crash screen or anything, it just went straight out. I figured that maybe it hadn't charged properly, so I let it charge for a few more hours, and then tried again - same thing happened. I instantly tried to turn it on again, but this time nothing happened at all. I held the power button down for at least 1 minute, to no avail. When I put in the charging cable, the LED doesn't light up.
So, as I said, I have been reading around on this forum and other places, trying to find a solution. Some people said holding down the power button and volume up and down at the same time for 2 minutes would fix it, it didn't. I have tried several times. Most recently someone said I should connect my phone to my PC with the USB cable, and then hold down the power button and volume down. This time, something did happen. But not on my phone's end. I have done this 2 times, with the same result. At exactly 7 seconds, my computer turns off, as if I had "choked" it by holding down the power button on the PC. This seems really odd to me, since the phone can't even turn on, so I don't see how there can be any connectivity.
I hope someone here has a solution, knows why it happened, or can at least guide me in replacing any part if needs be. I hope not, though.
Bump
Should I just send it in for a repair? I have an idea that doing so will be very expensive...

So Tuesday night before bed I went to check my phone (which had been on the charger for the last couple hours and so was at >95%) and noticed the volume button was not responding. I figured something buggy was going on, sometimes I need to reboot my phone every couple of days to get it to work properly (especially if it had run down into low power mode before recharging), so after unplugging it from the charger, I held down the power button, selected reboot, and clicked okay. The phone then proceeded to shut down, but not start back up.
When I tried to start it up again by holding the power button, I got no response initially. Then I was able to get it to buzz/vibrate, but the screen never came on.
I tried holding down the Vol- button and the power button together for 20 seconds to force a reset, and it vibrates a couple of times, but nothing happens.
If I plug it into a charger, I don't see any LEDs illuminate, and it just vibrates approximately every 3 seconds (not continuously, it seems to have some semi-random pattern). If I unplug it, the vibrating stops, but I still can't get it to turn on. It does not seem to make a difference if I am using a wall charger or trying to charge it off my laptop.
I have not rooted the phone or installed any custom ROMS, and have had it since I bought it on Amazon in June of 2017.
Any ideas what might be the issue? Any tips for reviving my phone?
This doesn't seem to match anything I have been able to find with some basic google searching.
Edited to add that I also tried removing the sim card and starting it up without one, but that did not appear to make a difference.
Update: I left it plugged into a wall charger for about 18 hrs and when I came back there was no change in behavior.
This many sound repetitive but lets first get the obvious out of the way so that we are sure you tried the most basic things for sure.
Is there an issue with the cable not able to charge the device? Can you try changing the cable?
Power + volume down for 30 secs / 1 minute / few minutes. This usually helps, sometimes more than 30 seconds for some reason. Try doing it while plugged in.
When you connect to the laptop what happens? Does it power on for a minute or vibrate?
Do you have adb installed on your computer? does you device get detected on your laptop?

Tried charging it with both the OEM cable as well as an amazon basics USB-c cable (both of which had been used to charge the phone successfully in the 24 hrs before it went wonky), no noticeable difference in behavior.
Held the power + volume down buttons for 180 seconds, did not boot. Repeated this with it plugged in (wall charger) and it still did not boot.
When I connect it to my laptop, I get the same behavior of vibrating as when plugged into a wall charger, but it does not boot or power on, nor does the laptop detect the phone in any fashion. I do not have adb installed on my laptop.
Anything else I can try, or is the phone a write-off at this point?
First step to solving any device issue is to somehow boot it and get in any mode possible. Since you can't do that I can't think of any other way to get it working.
I'm having the same issue, phone is not giving me any signs of life...frustrated at the moment
It's a total long shot, but try carefully cleaning out your charge port with a needle or a small pin and a little bit of alcohol. I pulled quite a bit of pocket lint out of mine and it works fine now. It didn't look like it was that dirty, but I pulled out a large ball bearing sized amount.
Other than that the only other thing I can think of is that your battery might be shot. It might have been taking enough of a charge to try and turn on, but not enough to do so.
Right so I know this is a long shot and the Otter2 kf2 is pretty old but I had it running cyanogen mod with twrp I'd ran an update and now it won't even turn on I plug it into my laptop and it just keeps connecting and disconnecting saying device cannot be recognised also when plugged in the power button nolonger lights up either it did have 50% battery at the time so it's not dead any ideas? Tried holding the power button down for 30 seconds and nothing I'm guessing it's bricked it's self is there away to fix it? Tried a fastboot cable off ebay and nothing
