@darobbe, have you tried to search/post this question within the following thread?
[ROM] [Kernel] [Team-M8] [UNOFFICIAL] LineageOS 14.1 by David 617
You should be able to get a more appropriate response from a member there who has/knows your specific device.
Good Luck!

Building Experimental Version

Hi,
since I like to stay at Marshmallow for now (especially because of the lack of Xposed for Nougat) but also like to already make the switch to Lineage, I see no other way then building Lineage based on CM 13.0 for my both devices (Oneplus 3 and kenzo) by myself.
While I'm familiar with building CM, it's not clear to me if it's possible to make a "Experimental" build (for dirty flash migration) and if so, how? Are there any build flags to be set? Any additional steps after building? How are the offical "EXPERIMEMTAL" builds done at download.lineageos.org?
Thank you very much in advance, it's very good to see Lineage OS getting traction after the Cyanogenmod shutdown.
Same problem
I would also be interested in this. Thank you for all your help.
No solution found?

I'm not sure if you all know this exactly but, the LineageOS Experimental builds is actually CyanogenMod Migration Builds.
It's intent is for those who use CyanogenMod installed and don't want to just wipe the whole device clean so the Experimental build is to install over the current CyanogenMod without wiping anything to Migrate from the CyanogenMod to the LineageOS. Then when it's done, you install the LineageOS Nightly build (or Snapshot if it's available) over the Experimental without wiping anything to complete the Migration.
With that stated, it would be a real challenging endeavor to create an Experimental build with that type of Migration feature.
I would applaud anyone, outside of the LineageOS Devs, who can accomplish this.
But, I'm not one to gossip... So you ain't heard that from me... LMAO!!!

If you take a look at the Console Output of Jenkins, then there are build-scripts... I think they can build migration builds/they "know" how toll build these...
Fetching changes from the remote Git repository > git config remote.origin.url ssh://[email protected]/lineageos/build_scripts # timeout=10
Do you now how to get these script(s)?
To observations:
- In https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70944088&postcount=26 and https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70959718&postcount=27 it is described how to compile the current version of the cm-13.0 branch of lineageos for the Moto G (osprey). This build can be flashed on top of a Cyanogenmod 13.0 build without any problems. After reflashing Xposed it is also working.
- These are the changes between a "normal" and and "experimental" build of cm-13.0 on Jenkins for a certain phone (manta) on Jenkins:
builds: https://jenkins.lineageos.org/job/android/617/parameters/ and https://jenkins.lineageos.org/job/android/618/parameters/
changes on gerrit: https://review.lineageos.org/#/c/160268/ https://review.lineageos.org/#/c/160269/ https://review.lineageos.org/#/c/160272/
I totally unsure, what these patches really do, but I would guess its about checking signatures during the process of an OTA update.
160269 only adds the watermark... I think 160272 does the "real" migration, but I don't know, what the other change does...
I'll try to flash a normal nightly, but if it works, why do they make data migration builds?
But if I would build a migration build I only had to apply the changes to my repo and that's it?
EDIT: I just installed LineageOS over my CynaogenMod installation (14.1) on my HTC One A9 and it worked

The watermarks are there for a reason.
Once the migration has completed, and your on the main screen with the watermarks, it is an indication that you have migrated successfully and ready for you to flash the latest Nightly build (or Snapshot build if one has been released).
Reboot back to recovery, and without wiping a thing, you'll then flash the Nightly and GApps. Wipe Dalvik and then reboot.

upgrading from CM to LineageOS Moto Pure

I would like to upgrade to the latest nightly of LineageOS...just to stay current....but I don't want to lose one file.....a very important file to me.....my blocked/spam caller list. I have the last CM nightly installed as well as TWRP and I think SU (not sure).
Can I just put the copy the LineageOS sip to my phone and install using TWRP...or do I have to reload all the applications (and their files?). If I do this, what do I clear, if anything before or after installing the LineageOS nightly?

If an Experimental version has been released for your device then using that to migrate from CM to LOS can be done without loosing anything.

Reporting bugs, issues, etc... within the XDA Forum very rarely ever gets the attention from any of the Lineage Developers (though a few of them do take a peek on occasion) but, there's a few preferred methods that Lineage asks for users to report them.
The following link provides a way (and outlines) for reporting bugs found in the LineageOS releases.

Lineage 16.0 updates failing on Samsung devices
All nightly builds on Samsung devices since 8/9/19 are having trust failures when trying to update either with the updater or manual update with TWRP. All my devices are running the latest bootloaders. I believe this change from the change log of 08/09/19 is causing the problem:
Changes included in lineage-16.0-20190809-nightly-gts210vewifi-signed.zip
msm8976-common: Add TZ.BF.3.0.3-00077 to trustzone assert android_device_samsung_msm8976-common.

Experimental Builds

Hi I am currently a cm user on cm13 and I wanted to wait a couple of months before switching to lineageos does anyone still have to experimental build for the M8? I don't want to lose my data.

I do have the "lineage-14.1-20170125-experimental-m8-signed.zip".
Though, i don't, personally, have the device, I had grabbed it for another member who had asked for a copy a while ago, the member ended up not wanting it anymore so I never uploaded it to my File Host Account.
I saw your question and your in luck! I still have it and will upload it and provide you a link to download it. Just give me a little time since the File Host site is running a bit slow.
Just an FYI... The Experimental builds are called Experimental Migration builds for (as you probably already know) the migration from the CyanogenMod to LineageOS.
In the meantime, here's a link that should be helpful in referring to that outlines the process in using the Experimental Migration builds.

The following are some more helpful information regarding your device.

Official LineageOS - Install LineageOS on M8
I'll post the link as soon as the experimental build is done uploading.

Noooo..... I'm stuck in the Nexus with Kirk and Picard!!!
LMAO!
Well here's the link to the experimental build
lineage-14.1-20170130-experimental-m8-signed
Some individuals ask this question but, the MD5 file is only the checksum file that TWRP can use to verify the zip file. If you want to use it, just place it in the same location where the zip file is.
Be sure to read the information on the following link.
Official LineageOS - Update & Build Prep
This way you will understand that, after the migration has completed, you need to reboot back into Recovery to flash the latest nightly build.
*** PLEASE NOTE: If you use SuperSU and GApps, be sure to flash in the following order (at the same time).
1) Experimental build
2) SuperSU
3) GApps (for Nougat)
Then after the Experimental migration has completed, and your ready to flash the latest nightly (which is required to complete the migration), be sure to flash them in the following order.
1) Nightly build
2) SuperSU
3) GApps (for Nougat)
I know that it's redundant but, the LineageOS will undo the SuperSU and conflict with the GApps. This is why it's important to flash in the order above.
FINALLY... A hint... The way to know that the first Experimental migration has completed is basically after the device is booted and your done with the initial setup. Simply... If you are staring at the Home Screen... Then it's ready for the Nightly build to be flashed in the above order.
I did my best to explain this via text.
Please let me know how it went!
I wish you the best of luck!

Support on HTC ONE Max (t6)

Hi!
I wounder - since last image is dated 3-31-2017, will there be any further support with lineageos for my device?
Thanks,
LightofMagic
There's an unofficial build here, from May 23.
As for support for the Max, since flyhalf retired his phone, LineageOS needs someone to pick up the development work and building new images. Is there any brave soul?

Well, unfortunately, according to the following Official LineageOS Link for the t6, it looks like the t6 is no longer being developed by Lineage.
https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/t6
Though, there's nothing really wrong with continuing with what you have but, if you're looking to update the firmware, you'll have to look to an Unofficial build.
I wish you the best of luck!
