Anyway to get video calling working if outside us?

I upgraded my Cingular 8525 to the "official" Cingular rom. I know it not possible to MAKE video calls but is it possible to receive them? If so, is that rom specific? If not, what do I need to install?
I dont think it's possible.. When accepting a video call, your device will initialize it's own video calling.. since the 8525 doesn't have video calling, if someone was trying to video call you, it would just be a normal phone call.
actually the 8525 should have video calling since it's based on the TyTN (same rom) but the feature is disabled in registry.
Now I have no idea what enabling the option would do since it doesn't have the front camera but from experience I know that someone with regular cellphone can place video calls to my TyTN without any problems (and I can send it back to them, albeit not on the cingular network).
Now Cingular uses a completely different protocol from what I heard. You can't even duplex video on the network yet so unless the protocol that is being used is not compatible then it may work.
Forgot to mention that im from the Philippines and that Vid Calling is available here.
if your phone is a Cingular 8525
than theres no front-facing Video Camera
so youd either be on Video, or watching them
doesnt that defeat the purpose of video calling anyways? not being able to see each other at the same time? lol
I think it MAY be available soon once AT&T actually releases the ROM. You can now add a video calling package onto your account so you aren't charged the amount for each minute (which is apparently $.25.). So sometime in the future it may be, but for now some 3G Phones do.

Is it possible for Fido Video Calling Service in canada to work on any HTC phone>?
Cant get my Video calling to work
What do I do?......
I would like to know this as well. I have the option for video call and when i click it, it tries to dial and the inside camera turns on, but then i get an error: 'Fail to make the video call'
I have read all over the internet it just takes a modification to the ROM for the 8525 to enable video sharing on atts network. Me and my wife have two 8525s. First step to making it work is you have to add the plan to your account which is 9.99 a month for each phone for 60 mins of video calls. Once you do that att will provision your phone to make video calls. Called HTC and they said its unsupported for the 8525 because it has no front camera. But they did tell me that hacking the ROM would enable it. Where am i missing this i have the video dial button but still does not work. It tells me failed to make video call. HAS anyone successfully made a video sharing call on the 8525?
Be aware of what you wish...
Old thread, but anywayz
Looks like what you have to do is:
Install one of the WM6 or WM6.1 ROMS.
Enable video call with your operator.
Buy and install the front cameras on your phones (as 8525 doesn't have front camera and the rear camera doesn't work for video call)
I did all of the above, and I can make video calls by now.
The "try again error" when you start a video call, in my experience shows up when:
One of the parties involved in the call dont have video call enabled by the operator.
The phone is not in 3G mode. Use the commcenter and make sure you have the 3G icon at the side of the start button (not E, for edge).
N7100 almost here, and I see that the native dialer has a video dialer function that allows you to make video calls over your cellular network. I am in the US on AT&T, and was wondering if anyone with International Samsung phones have attempted to make a video call over AT&T using the native dialer, or if AT&T still blocks this global function?
This would be between 2 N7100's in the US over AT&T or a N7100 and an International SGIII. I am not talking about the AT&T flavor, only International Unlocked Sammy's.
I have searched but there is little info on this, and the ones who say it work never tell what country they are in or the carrier they are using it on.
Re: [Q] Does the video calling feature in the native dialer work in the US over AT&T
Video calling on native dialer definitely works in India in almost all the networks. I am using a national service provider called bsnl and it's dirt cheap. They charge me around 4 cents per minute. However video calling doesn't work all the time even if I'm on 3g network if the 2nd party doesn't get 3g signal properly.

I am using Korean version of G3, but i am outside Korea. my dialer shows video call option, and my network also support video call.
but when try to make video calls it shows "when global roaming, video call not supported"
does anybody know how to enable video calls outside Korea? these must be some file or data base which tells mobile not to make video call when outside Korea. i guess we can change it.
Video calling software is in there, we just have to enable it
