[Q] Donate without PayPal

How do I donate if I don't have a PayPal account? I closed my account a few weeks ago for political reasons but would still like to contribute to XDA Forums and to my favourite dev.
EDIT: It seems flattr could be an alternative.

At this time, we don't have a way other than PayPal to do donations. Thank you for the consideration, though.

That is unfortunate, Paypal has shown themselves to be anti-gun and anti-free speech...basically anti-freedom. The whole purpose of xda is to increase the amount of freedom in the world. It'd sure be nice to work on that goal without colluding with scumbag anti-freedom companies like paypal.
What the news about.paypal

How about investigating BitCoin? Take a look at bitcoin (dot) org. The mybitcoin (dot) com site has merchant accounts that accept both bitcoin and credit cards.
I don't use paypal for anything.

[Q] New Here Looking For Direction

Hi , I'm new to this I will use your site Immensely and through the years I am sure . Where is it appropriate I upload The Odin file that I just got from the authorized repair center here in Plano? I would like to get this uploaded as quickly as possible because I see how they made people require this Build. It is OE2, specifically designed to resurrect an OE1 Unit Regressed.
Your Prompt Reply Will Yield Results.
I'll upload it to my mirrors if u want it up

Interesting... Watching to see what comes from this. I suspect initial takers will be the unfortunate OE1 OTA users.
Best regards to first taker. Be sure to post results to verify legitimacy.

i cant help but think this is fake. There is no OE2 rdf, so how could there be a OE2 tar? Why would a Sprint repair center distribute an unannounced build?
I believe its bs too

I stopped by my local Sprint repair center yesterday and was told that I was the 3rd person this week to ask for the OE1 Update.zip, but that it has never been distributed to the repair centers. How could they give him OE2 when they haven't even gotten OE1 yet?

http://www.needrom.com/download/lineage-14-1-unofficial-apollo_lite/
Hi,
i did the "lineage-14.1-UNOFFICIAL-apollo_lite (Stable)" from needrom yesterday. Seems not to bad but i am faced w/ a few issues.
- the keyboard -> Gboard, Deutsch (german) become stopped when i try to change settings, so i had to change the keyboard
- i use two sim cards. One for mobile data (t-mobile) and one for calls and sms (congstar).
When i set sim-card settings to...
mobile data -> t-mobile
calls -> congstar
sms -> congstar
and i switch off or restart phone the settings get set always automatically to...
mobile data -> t-mobile
calls -> congstar
sms -> t-mobile ???
this is confusing me a little bit.
- camera crushes down when i do some pictures

I do see that the official LineageOS website does have the Cedric link placeholder, that indicates that it is somewhere in the development process.
In the meantime, are any of these compatible with your device?

If not, then the following link would be where you would find one announced when it's released (if it's not already there).

Thank you, Ibuprophen. I found this one as well, but wanted to hear if anyone has tried this before I give it a spin. Manipulating this file can seriously damage your system and result in a bootloop... That's why I am a bit cautious if you know what I mean.

I understand you completely...
I've seen somewhere an app as well as an XPosed Module that has this as an inclusive feature but, I can't remember where.
Sorry that I couldn't be of much more help.

No, you were of great help, my friend. Thank you. I may give it a try... After a solid backup.

Alright, I did it but had to roll back. The change in the XML file caused strange UI behavior and the hash sign was still there. Luckily my backup worked.

I, personally am a tester for different types of things that i look to do with my device.
I always felt that everyone should follow 3 simple rules:
1) When searching for anything, always remember the Metadata system. Google and XDA uses the Metadata system when it comes to performing searches. The main thing to remember for Metadata searches is to use key words and leave words like "the", "and", "or", etc... because the search results will reflect those words as a separate result and also vary the words for your searches too when you need better search results.
2) Always do your homework/research and understand what it is your looking for and if it can/could be done for your device.
3) Asking questions is also a great thing. Remember to keep it simple and to the point and always provide all specific information as it applies to the question itself. This is why you have/will see responses like "can you be more specific" and "please provide your device information and a logcat file" (for example).
Just a small/brief Geek 101... LMAO!
I wish you the best of luck my Friend!

Solution was to install a tool named System UI Tuner. There you can hide the hashtag symbol. It was as easy as that.
