LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Before posting on this thread, make sure of a few things:
You've utilized the search function of the forums. Nothing irritates me more than lazy people who do not search for an answer before asking or ask the same question over and over again.
If you are the only one having a problem. Boot into recovery, wipe data/factory reset, reflash the rom/gapps and nothing else. Boot up and see if the problem persists.
LOGS LOGS LOGS!!!! Use this: SysLog by Tortel
If you have a hard reboot (to the vendor boot logo, not the LineageOS boot logo), use adb or any other file explorer tool to pull a copy of
/sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops (command: adb pull /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops)
/sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops-0 (command: adb pull /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops-0)
after the reboot and provide that (or just get everything in that directory).
Note: We will not support any kind of modification on the ROM not done by our sources. If you are running XPosed, Kernel Booster or whatever occurs to you, we won't support you in any way. The problem will in every case be treated as the additional softwares' fault (because often it is!)
Google apps addon:
We are using Open GApps (Link) Arm64 version. (make sure to use 64bit when using other packages), others might also be working and make sure you download the right version. I do not recommend stock or full or anything that replaces default apps as this has been known to cause problems (e.g. replacing the dialer with a stock dialer can make it crash).
Note: In case you want to use any gapps, YOU MUST install the right gapps the first time that you flash a marshmallow or later ROM. Do not boot with an older gapps or without one and then try to install it later.
Note: If you install a package which replaces the default dialer (mostly "Stock Gapps") you have to go to Settings->Apps->Gear-Icon and set the new dialer as a default telephony app to prevent force closing of apps

New builds should be starting this week, I woudn't recommend installing any of the April builds and wait for the new builds.
The new builds are based on the Nougat_88 release and includes a completely redone kernel and all the blobs have been updated to the latest official release.
Enjoy it when it's built!

I guess you could say that, but really mostly the new thread is because the old thread was created by a user who was helping out when none of the maintainers were reading the forums and therefore there was no thread for the device (and thanks for him doing that). Now I'm supporting ether and I wanted to have a thread that I could manage so I can update the information as needed.
Anybody got WiFi hotspot automatically connected on 7.1.2 when Bluetooth connects. I have tried all automate, micro droid, tasked etc cannot get it work. Any help appreciated. Thanks
New nightly is up
Fresh installed the new nightly, seems much snappier than the last one. Thank you dev!!
Edit: LED light still doesn't work. Hopes it works someday!
Are you referring to the single notification LED at the bottom?
Btw which set of Gapps are you using?

Yup. The charging LED that works on stock ROM and I flashed the latest arm64 OpenGapps pico.
Have you tested do all the cores work?
Amazing rom, way better than the older builds. Snappy, smooth, hopefully battery is better.

All cores are working. Running really smooth.
@crpalmer battery led isn't working and pictures taken with flash enabled are overexposed.
Does the LED show notification?
I just looked at the LEDs and, well, two things.
First, charging is shown by the cloud leds (4 lights on the back) which indicate the percentage charged while plugged in.
Second, well, derp! For some reason the device was configured to disable notifications by default. This should be fixed in the next build (just running a build to do a clean install to verify it) but if you install the first build you will need to enable them manually by going to:
Settings >> Notifications >> Gear icon >> Notification light
and enabling "Notification light".
So the only bug is the overexposed image when camera flash is used?

I turned it on last night and it didn't seem to work.
And now, I see the notification light is working!
I thought it should be enabled in a kernel level like Moto devices.
I didn't even realize that the four dots on the back were the lights.
Edit: Notification light keeps on sometimes. Gone after reboot.

Coming from unofficial 14.1 or CM13?
When you already had an unofficial (pre-official) build installed (or are about to upgrade from CM13 the first time), feel free to install the " experimental" build. As we have tightened security, this build is meant to preserve your data during migration. After you have booted it once, please install the next official nightly to complete the procedure (and get rid of the watermark). Please note that this might fail so always take a backup first!
For more info visit this LINK
Update: The experimental builds are gone, you have to clean flash (full wipe) to install LineageOS

So it begins... going to test this over the weekend
Thanks OP. Have been running it since this morning and it's smooth. I installed both "previous" versions (the 498MB one still with CM and the first 496MB one).
Awesome! Now i'll just wait for the fingerprint, camera and network to be fixed!
Awesome work, love it

You don't want to be running something that was randomly sitting on my download server earlier today. If your build date is before 3pm est then please download and install what is there now.
Earlier builds had problems.
Would be nice to have the expanded desktop version per app to in the next udate . Expanded desktop works fine but only if i turn it on for everything.
Cant choose it per app yet!

General LineageOS issue, not only on our device. (Have reported it)

Awesome. This is really a nice year ender announcement for our device. Don't have time to test though. But will definitely flash once the few bugs are fixed.

Flashed it a few hours ago, everything works great (except the things pointed out in the OP). Thank you so much to @crpalmer and @BadDaemon for bringing Nougat goodness to our device. The amazing devs for this phone have made the US$180 I paid sooo worth it
About the fingerprint sensor, is it a safe guess that unless Huawei releases Nougat for our device, the fingerprint sensor won't work? Or is it something else?

At this point all that is safe to assume is that it doesn't work and neither BadDaemon nor I have had a chance to investigate why.
Downloading right now to test. You are the best !!!!
Edit. Installed following the instructions from 1#post (ROM boot, setup. Then gapps and wipes) gapps working perfect. I dont go back to MM for now

I'm on T-Mobile and US Unlocked Devices and seems like a fantastic release so far. About the camera, not sure which camera you are using that has HDR for testing. I installed the HTC camera from the store but it doesn't work and I don't know how to install Snap camera. The build in camera does take very good pictures though but no advanced features like slow mo and such.
Edit: I think I experienced the Wifi drop. First the LTE was on and the Wifi symbol had an X, then the WIFI symbol disappeared and the wifi search showed no connections to get on. I'll try to get a log if it happens again.

@crpalmer: Home button is still working only with N firmware, right?
I haven't updated to N yet because of multi-ROM not having clean N support. I am running CM (or lineage now) inside multi-ROM as the secondary.
Home button is working with N firmware...

This patch will fix the fingerprint reader/home button. It's an aroma installer, so chose the firmware you're on (6.x/7.x) and flash.

After testing, I restored my TWRP Backup, but now I am asked for my decryption password after reboot I also cannot use TWRP because of a missing password......
Any helping ideas?????

Backup your important files and format data under wipe in TWRP. Then flash supersu to decrypt your rom.
Could someone please explain why the phone's current firmware is important? If I install this ROM, perform a full wipe wouldn't just delete everything before installing this new one?
Not sure if this is necessary to change but the build number shows "cm-pme".
Is there a way to disable encryltion before installing?
Or is it better to encrypt manually before?

Release note:
New builds (after 2017/1/15) uses F2FS backported from 4.10 kernel, you may meet compatibility problems such as deadlocks, if you do, flash TWRP provided in OP and choose "Wipe -> Format Data" to format(not just wipe) your /data partition, this will clean the entire /data partition, including the emulated sdcard, so don't forget to backup your data before. After that, your data partition will be formatted into ext4, if you want to keep using f2fs, just convert fs type normally in TWRP.
For oneplus3, my unofficial TWRP is recommended, as it's what I use. For 3T, TWRP 3.0.4 is recommended.
20170120 build includes sdcardfs, security fixes and camera fixes&improvements, touch to focus is fixed as well, if it's still not working, clean Snap's data. BTW N kernel source is released now, I'll take days to bring up, don't ask for ETA.
Regarding installation, we recommend that users wipe when switching to LineageOS, and reinstall their gapps. However, we recognize that this can be time consuming, so we are offering an EXPERIMENTAL (read as, if it fails, you’ll have to wipe anyways) solution. Visit http://lineageos.org/Update-and-Build-Prep/for more details
Started from lineage-14.1-20170207-nightly-oneplus3-signed.zip, we provide unified builds for both 3&3T, and you need to install certain firmware to pass the TrustZone assertion. Currently they're the OxygenOS 4.0.2 ones. As oneplus won't update them every time new OTAs are rolling out, firmware from other versions might also pass the assertion.
FAQs:
My status bar quick pulldown and notification slider are broken, why?
See https://github.com/opengapps/opengapps/wiki/Notes-for-CMSetupWizard
Why the builds are unified?
Tell me the difference between OnePlus3Oxygen_16_OTA_039_all_1701140133_03b794d8a8b44883 and OnePlus3TOxygen_28_OTA_039_all_1701140132_de9036f11e2246a8, why not?

I'm really excited that Lineage OS has been released officialy for our 3T
Just one small question
Do OTAs work?
Thanks
I tried the front camera, and actually it's working nice. (Snap Camera)
By the way, great ROM and glad to see it on 3T!

question
dm-verity and forced encryption disabler still needed ?
So is this official official official? Lol. I ask because there are so many official and unofficial of everything on this one plus Fred that I am overwhelmed and confused at times

Yes, it is. As you can see, in the first post there is the LineageOS official download page.
EDIT: @dianlujitao There is an error in the first post, in the disclaimer. Warranty is still valid.
Sweet ty

Front camera is working?
And also what about OTA?
The download link refers to the OnePlus 3 download page, not the OnePlus 3T. Where can I find the downloads for the 3T?
Will the OIS and EIS work?

The link is correct. The zip file works for both - the OP3 and the OP3T. It's unified

I wrote "It's working nice".... So, yes, it works.
I can't try OTA because... there's not a new build.

I am trying to switch to the official LOS nightly from 07 Feb, coming from this unofficial rom which worked perfectly: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/development/rom-unified-lineageos-cm14-1-t3525551
I did a clean install, flashed twrp 3.0.4-1, then the dm-verity and forced encryption disabler zip (version 5.1), then the LOS build, open-gapps nano package (from 8th of Feb) and the LOS root addon.
Tried numerous times now, and different things: formatting data as ext4, flashing the OOS before doing the clean install, pico instead of nano gapps. Yet the same thing keeps happening to me:
Everything works fine first, yet after encrypting the phone and turning privacy guard on and to quite strict settings for google services, the phone freezes after entering the SIM pin-code during boot. Won't start anymore at all after that.
Tried again today without encrypting the phone and just turning on privacy guard for all services starting with "Google ...", whereas I selected ask everytime rather than denied. Same thing happened, so I believe now it is a Gapps related issue.
I am now back on the abovementioned unofficial build, which works just fine with exactly the same set-up which leaves me puzzled as this build is supposed to be 99,99% pure LOS.
As some people are reporting the nightly is working fine for them: am I doing something wrong? Is anybody else having similar issue? Anybody have an idea how to fix it?
Thanks in advance for any help, well appreciated!

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

Hmm
was eagerly waiting for lineage 17 update, downloading, thanks so much dev, let's hope we'll get an official update soon
Huge thanks to the developer, very exciting to have Android 10 up and running on my device, with encryption in place!
PS: I couldn't get the beta version of Open GApps to flash in TWRP - It complained about a missing file in the ROM - I didn't make a note of what it said but I tried BitGApps instead and that worked fine: https://bitgapps.cf/arm64/Q/

The 20200115 gapps beta build was the problem. The next beta gapps should have it fixed.
so far very stable, everything works fine, the ui is almost perfectly smooth, but sometimes an app takes a milliseconds to get that opening animation running, lineage 16 is perfect in that ,when you tap an app it instantly responded,it needs a little work, but msn is it the best 10 rom out there, smoothest , lineage is the best
Thanks for the rom!
I'm having some issues...
1 - unable to hide apps in trebuchet
2 - unable to expand desktop
For now, only it.. if i found something i will update the reply...
I have an update about the problem I and another user reported in the TG group, where pictures and music were not appearing in the stock apps in Lineage 17 - After a couple of days of using this ROM my pictures and music have randomly started to appear in the stock apps. For some reason it took a few days for them to show up!

I don't see adaptive battery in the settings
Brilliant Rom. Very fast and very good battery. I like him.
Anybody tried any sound mods on this rom...i got bootloop from vuper4android.
redchilis said:
Excellent!
Noticeable changes at first glance:
- Accent color has been replaced by Styles and Wallpaper - Very Cool
- Dark mode toggle in Display
- Option to allow apps to use location only when app is being used (very iOS like and privacy friendly)
- In TWRP on mounting system, LOS apps like AudioFX seem to be in /system/system/priv-app earlier used to be in /system/priv-app
- Encryption works fine
Bugs
- Adding alarm, crashes the clock app
- Changing notification in any app (Signal, Whatsapp) crashes app
Did a clean install using
lineage-17.1-20200114-UNOFFICIAL-z2_plus.zip
open_gapps-arm64-10.0-pico-20200131.zip

Is there a way to remove unwanted system apps. When i remove app using link2sd app i got a bootloop.
Can GSI's be flashed on this ROM...??
redchilis said:
Based on this article, "devices" are GSI flashable or not and not ROM's
Based on this list of GSI flashable devices, I'd say the Zuk Z2 Plus isn't GSI flashable ASAIK
I could be wrong, just did a Google search.
Click to collapse
But, I've flashed many GSI's successfully... So z2 plus is a GSI flashable.
And to flash any GSI we need a proper treble rom(with a good vendor which actually supports flashing any GSI..)..AFAIK
I'm not sure whether it's a bug or not. I tried the new internal audio recording feature of Android 10 with com.kimcy929.screenrecorder, it's not working, nothing but silence was recorded.
Edit: It's working with the browser (with slight lags though). However, it didn't work while playing sound with the built-in file manager.

Installation instructions
Make sure you are on OneUI 5 firmware (D bootloader or newer) before flashing this ROM, otherwise the installation might fail or not boot!
Installing LineageOS using LineageOS recovery
Follow the guide on the LineageOS wiki.
Installing LineageOS using TWRP/OrangeFox
Make sure your device's bootloader is unlocked.
Make sure to have the latest available version of TWRP/OrangeFox installed.
If wanted, backup all your necessary partitions (super, boot, vendor_boot, data, EFS) before flashing this in case something goes wrong.
Download the lineage build for your device from the link below and optionally download your preferred GApps package too.
Flash the LineageOS zip using the "Install" button.
Optionally, flash Gapps right after.
Format data in TWRP/OrangeFox as the very last thing, otherwise you may end up in a bootloop if coming from stock ROM.
Wipe metadata and cache partitions. This only has to be done once when you install LineageOS.
Reboot

Good work!
Great work, I'm on One UI 5.1 right now. Can I flash it, nevertheless?
And some screenshots of the ROM would be really appreciated as well.
What a journey, feels great to witness the evolution of it
This is the start of many things to come! I appreciate @Simon1511 effort unto this.
That's awesome, finally.
Bugs: Noticed the camera app is really buggy, when I switch the video resolution/FPS, camera shows a black screen or a frozen picture, also switching from front/back camera and other things also glitch up.
Camera is black as shown above, and identify songs playing nearby doesn't seem to want to turn on either
This is a huge milestone for the development of ROMs for this phone.
sim toolkit kinda broken still
Hi guys
How is Battery life on this rom ?
Performance for gaming ?
Thanks for answering
I have Android 13 currently installed, it's a GMS firmware, based on Google's Experience ROM. I tried to install the ROM but got message that it's not android 13 even though I know it's 13. Is it caused by missing oneUI? If so what are my options to get this ROM installed? Go back to Samsung's original ROM? Is it even possible? Thanks

My ROM does require Android 13 firmware, not just any Android 13 ROM.
So yes, you'll have to return to stock ROM to flash the latest firmware available for you phone and then install LineageOS.
Thank you for your effort. Now I'm really considering buying this phone.
Hi,
I have installed this ROM and when connected to a WifI i get the msg: "Connected/No internet access".
Googling around I got I had to check with Termux the value of this variable:
> settings get global captive_portal_server
> null
I understand the value of not using the default google owned http://connectivitycheck.gstatic.com but cannot this value be set to some site more privacy-aware/FOSS/non-tracking site rather than NULL ?
( read about that here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-how-to-avoid-the-captive-portal-checkin-to-google.3927561/)
I found these strange languages below when adding a language. Also, I installed F-droid app and then Aurora Store from F-droid repository. But Aurora Store keeps closing, it doesn't work with this ROM. I'm not sure if this is Aurora issue or something in this ROM that stops Aurora from running.
I can confirm that the camera app stops working shortly after being in use. It starts up, it allows me to take a photo but once I take a look at taken photo and go back to taking pictures again the camera screen is black.
in settings -> display -> colors, there are 4 options to choose from and sample pictures. are these pictures expected to change in color to exemplify the effect of 4 options? if yes then in my installation this doesn't work. a change in options is not reflected on the images.
