If you have a stock ruu for your phone, first flash that.
The only way I know to lock your bootloader and avoid it saying "relocked", is to go back to s-on first, then back to s-off/Locked using Sunshine, and then s-on again.
S-on command is (in download mode)
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3

Sending back phone and can't get back to S-ON Help!

I recently got a replacement INC2 because of this phone is beatup and I need to send it back to Verizon for the warranty. I used RUU to unroot my phone and everything was stock then I just noticed that it's still S-OFF in the HBOOT screen.. The phone is deactivated, I can;t turn it back on to root again and get rid off S-OFF. Is there any ZIP files like PB31IMG that I can use to reverse it back to S-ON??

Why can't you root it? You are S-Off. Just flash a recovery, flash unRevoked's S-on script, and then reuse the RUU
Edit: read the op wrong.
Listen to what he said above me. You don't need service to root or set back to s-on.

Found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2735235
So followed it word for word and its perfectly fine apart from wont boot in to recovery which doesnt bother me aslong as it looks normal. Also used fastboot oem writesecureflag 3 to get s-on now i can send back after i argue with them about the bootloader unlock on htcdev

S-OFF for my M8 ??

Hello ,
I have an HTC M8 ( HTC__203 CID ) and i want to bring it back to fully stock. Lock my bootloader and install official ROM.
I follow this GUIDE but i have to be s-off in order to finish it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2735235
How can i turn my m8 to S-OFF from S-ON ?
I cant pay SUNSHINE 25$ ..
Is there any other way?
Or any way to lock my bootloader?
Without s-off you can put the flag from UNLOCKED to RELOCKED
only with s-off you can let it show LOCKED. sunshine is the only real (and cheapest) way to s-off the device. No other method available.
The nearest you can get to stock is to run the appropriate RUU with a relocked bootloader. Or restore the matching stock nandroid backup for your device and flash back the stock recovery, then relock the bootloader.
That's about it. Ow yeah and please post questions in the Q&A section next time. This is the GENERAL section.

The only real reason to return the phone to full stock with LOCKED bootloader is for warranty purpose. Is that what you are trying to do?
If so, then sunshine is the only way to s-off.

Yeah something like that. I want to sell it so the person who will take it to have full warranty access.
Thanx both of you. The problem is that in Greece ( where i live ) i dont have the access to my paypal in order to pay Sunshine because of Bank System.
We have Capital Controls so we cant buy anything from outside of our country.

So whats the proper RUU to flash. And how can i flash it in relocked bootloader ?
I tried this -> 0P6BIMG_M8_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_HTC_Europe_4.16.401.10_Radio_1.25.214500021.06G_20.68.4196t.01_F_release_417809_signed
and this one -> One_M8_4.16.401.10_stock_system_dump.zip
but after i type " fastboot flash zip ruu.zip " in the end it shows me this error -> 12 signature verify fail
What does it mean ?

Cant lock bootloader as it requires S-Off, and cant get S-On it requires unlocked bl.

So, I'm setting my phone to 100% stock for a reparation at HTCs EU Repair in Poland.. unfortunately they're pretty strict when it comes to unlocked phones..
I've changed my HBoot, Recovery and ROM to stock, now I need to get my bootloader locked and get S-On.
Problem is, if I follow THIS METHOD I wont be able to get S-On afterwards, and if I follow THIS METHOD (fastboot oem writesecureflag 3) on getting S-On, I wont be able to get my bootloader relocked.. they're depending on each other... How do I get around this loop?

Do you have an RUU?
if yes, the general way is:
1- remove TAMPERED
2- set LOCKED
3- run full RUU
4- bootup make sure all is OK
5- set S-ON if absolutely necessary (S-ON should be the last thing you do, do NOT go S-ON unless you are sure everything is OK)
also, as a side note, scotty's commands can be run while in TWRP (custom recovery will give you a "rooted" adb shell), on the M8 you can even "fastboot boot <name of recovery>.img" (which boots the custom recovery without flashing it)
(on the M7 this was only possible on hboot 1.44, and on the M9 it's not possible at all)
EDIT: also setting S-ON (fastboot oem writesecureflag 3), has nothing to do with locked/relocked/unlocked bootloader

How to unroot, lock bootloader and s-off for warranty return

Hi
I need to send my phone back for a warranty repair but I am confused about the exact steps to take.
My phone is currently S-OFF, rooted, has a TWRP recovery installed and has the latest Vodafone (VODAP001) stock rom installed.
What steps and in what order should I act in order to be left with a phone with a LOCKED boot loader (not RELOCKED/TAMPERED), unrooted and S-ON?
The instructions in a particular online link talk of locking the bootloader and then flashing an RUU but I can't find one for my Vodafone variant. (CID: VODAP001)
I have been going round in circles for the last few hours.
At one point I did lock the bootloader and then did the s-on but ended up in a boot loop to the bootloader - (probably because I forgot to unroot?)! Rescued it using the HTC Bootloader unlock code, reset and then rerunning Sunshine for S-OFF.
I can't seem to work out what to do without an RUU file.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
