one hand operation + = pain

Hi, after being updated to android pie I've had 2 annoying grey bars either side of the screen which cause havoc with the ability to type because they stop me using the numbers 1 & 0 also the letters p&q after much faffing about & some advice on here about unistalling one hand operation + & me searching all my apps & settings, I finally found it under developer options > running services.
The only option is to stop the service, which worked a treat but obviously on a reboot it reappears & I have to stop it again, which isn't a hardship but annoying. So does anyone know how to disable it permanently? I don't have good lock installed either before anyone thinks I had.
I'm guessing the answer will be root & install something like Titanium?
Package Disabler Pro can kill it permanently, but it's not running on mine and you did have GoodLock installed and likely installed the One Hand addon in addition to GoodLock, which may need removing separately
Or factory reset
Thanks for the info, I had good lock installed on oreo but removed it on pie when Samsung backup restored it but it wouldn't work on pie. Then I wiped it via odin & did a fresh install & made sure good lock was removed from any backup but when the phone restarted the 2 grey lines were on screen again.
Does package disabler require root?

Your backup probably restored the one hand addon for goodlock, Goodlock is just a UI for the addons, they likely do not require it
This is only happening to people who have had Goodlock installed previously, it is almost certainly coming from your backup restore - goto Settings >Apps > 3 dots menu > Show system apps > find the One Hand app and remove it, or reset again and do not restore
No it does not require root
All done, thanks :good:

Remove lock star

I had made some changes to lock screen through goodlock-lockstar but now I want to return to the original lockscreen. Even after uninstalling lockstar i am not able to go to original lockscreen. How do i do that??
After you uninstall the app, you need to restart the phone first.

weird firmware update issue wifi vs data

I have the N975U1 USA unlocked and when I try to check for a software update via wifi in setting it just shows checking an does not finish. There also a very quick pop up that occurs sometimes that says firmware firmware restriction or something like that ... it's so quick I can't read.
When I check via mobile data it works 100 percent and the most recent update I had to check and take off wifi check via data . Put back on wifi to download the update then finally take it back off to install it ..
I did do a cache clear via recoverery ... Please help

This advice might help a bit..
Regarding, the toast pop up that you can't read, you can either install "Nice Catch" which is part of Samsungs, Good Lock app.
If you can't download, Good lock app from
Galaxy Store then you can download /sideload, the stand alone apk, from Apkmirror web site.
Then manually install apk .
Please note if you sideload app, it won't show in app drawer. You have to use a shortcut method
eg Nove Launcher /(then long press on desktop screen .) /Nova widgets / activities , search for" Nice catch" and create short cut,. to desktop screen. Then tap on it and configure.
Otherwise, you can download an app from Play Store
eg. "Toast Source" (free app) etc.
This method is maybe faster and less hassle.?
If any of these above apps are enabled it will "catch/record" all you toasts as notifications and also save the toast pop-ups.
It might not solve you issue directly, but at least it is a start
to read the popup toast?
See screenshots
Good luck.
Will try thanks
This is what I saw ... it's from a app device info

I'm not sure how explain this......
but is you phone not a company device or has device some rental agreement , plan etc.
I have read on past post on XDA forums that members could not update, as their devices were "locked" ...?
Otherwise did you use any app like eg... App Disabler Pro etc etc.
That you disable an app and it has a knock on effect.?
Bottom line,
you now have a reason why not updating..
as toast says something "systems" is disable.?
Good luck..
yeah i might have to do a hard reset to see if that helps

Well toast says "systemfs" is disabled.
Well i personally can't disable it on my device as device is
stock not rooted etc. Also i have not used any disabler app.
For the "sysfs... @ systemfs??? " to be disabled, I'm sure you have to be rooted...?
or as stated above, you disabled some system app with a eg "Disabler Pro" app. etc.
Bottom line. again ..
Hopefully a factory reset should rectify the relevant system error..
Somehow it got corrupted.
Good luck.
