Hello community,
I rooted my Redmi 1s android ver. JellyBean through below procedure.
en.miui.com / thread-21881-1-1.html
As soon as i turned on root option mentioned in the tutorial above i saw lot of network activity but none of my apps were using internet.
I cleaned all apps but still there network activity.
I had no app installed which needed rooted phone.
Was the activity from Core or the App, can anyone tell me?

On reproduce if you can Capture the tcpdump .. Suspicious will remain suspicious unless someone make a proxy / Internet sharing from latop and tcpdump this ..
Also search "Baidu Redmi" if you are conspiracy theorist.
i am just concerned whether this rooting process made any open gateway for future activity.
I used an network traffic monitor.
Mostly connections were made to [US]Google servers<< [US]Digital ocean servers<<[China]Amazon Servers(Tech Telecom) and sounds safe.
Hello there. Yesterday I saw strange process named mm-qcamera-daemon. After research about this issues, I found info about this -> a massive battery drain, caused by bugged camera driver (only in 4.4.2).
For me, I found solution -> Permission manager . In my case, the new Viber 5.x.x make my camera non-stop working and the battery is terrible! I just forbade Camera permission in Viber, restart the device and everything was fine. In other option - just remove Viber, restart and check what is the result.
* In the store, you can find many perm mng
My device -> S3 Neo I9301I stock with Odin Rox root method
Thanks for the note. I have already notified the developers at Viber and they fixed the issue with their latest release.
For those who use the old editions, you can use Permission Manager or DonkeyGuard... Both serve the same purpose
Update: after few days, I reaslized, that my I9301I beauty has many services and apps, that comming with stock ROM (yes, I use it, plus the root method from @Rox) and personally I installed one file manager, viber, web browser, mobile operator app for control over my mobile data charges and etc.; Shazam, app for local weather, file manager, office packet, forum reader and few other stuff. With this configuration, my phone was able to drain the battery with 10-15% for like a 20 mins! So I decide to take care of this problem and try few things, that may be will inscrease the battery life.
Well, I use my I9301I for Gmail, web browsing (different from Chrome, because Chrome drain too much CPU power), file manager for opening/reading doc, txt files, Viber for chat and internet calls and more than 51% of the time -> like a ordinary phone for calls and SMS messages. After one day test I've got very good result - 8% battery drain for 14 hours work day. I'll make future update after week or two.
To this moment, I do several thing to complete – I installed a few very important applications – AppOps manager, Greenify, Xposed, FastDormancy and Greenified -> with this I double the battery life for over few days – 3 days with Wifi/ data and 7 days like just a normal call/ sms mobile phone!!! I must say something else – over wifi, my battery is batter, mobile data draining around 50% more power! I sync the apps update and gmail sync only 3 to 6 times per day, because of my job. I doesn’t use social applications like Facebook, Google+ and etc. Look closer to my process list – it’s optimized for my purpose only!!! You must carefully watch with process is frozen and why. Future updates with more info, after 2-3 weeks of using the custom @Rox rom.
Best regards!
PM - Big thanks and hitting over the 323254 times Thanks button to @Rox and others guys to share their experience with the community!
i found beter fix, just enable powersave on stock when you dont use phone it will prevent from that drain
Can I ask you which app you used to block all these processes? and in case if there's a free alternative...
And how did you tell the phone to synchronize only 3-6 times per day
This second s3 neo is drivin me crazy. I'm only using whatsapp (very very often) and my battery lasts sth like 10 hours. Now with the cores set to 300mhz with kernel adiutor it dropped from 100 to 74% in 3 hours.
My mom with a similar config on a s3 neo can do 2 full days with a super light whatsapp use and with ABSOLUTELY NO kind of power saving mode on.
I cannot believe that all this is whatsapp related. Seriously.
After switching to full treble builds, my battery saving location mode is showing me somewhere in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan, whereas I am currently at Kolkata and have never been to Japan with this device.
Please suggest me something so that I can get back to a "working" battery saving location mode which is necessary for many apps without hogging on the battery.
Update : Now the problem has gone worse, I am not getting a fix at all. The location stays at Shibuya (Tokyo) even in high accuracy mode. I just cannot use GPS anymore. Please help me as it is very necessary to call a cab or ambulance at my location.
I am currently on AEX 5.5. Came clean from stock ZUI through MiFlash.
Nevermind, got the solution here :

Hello Luis2k17,
Hope You Are Doing Good.
Yes, People Are Facing Lots Of Problem After Updating To Android PIE 9.0.
Known Issues Are Given Below:-
Bluetooth Issue
Wifi Speed Issue
Voice Call Quality Issue
Call Recording Issue
Signal Drop Issue ETC ETC...
If You Are Satisfy With Mentioned Above Problem Then Go Ahead And Update To Android PIE 9.0
Greetings.
Thanks,
MUHAMMAD Asif Qasim
If you like using Gcam then no it is not worth it.
If you choose to stay on oreo, dont forget to disable in developer option, "automaticly install updates when reboot".
My phone upgraded to the March update, I have had none of the issues listed above, poor speech quality was fixed with this update. I don't use Gcam but believe that is an issue. If you upgrade, you can always revert to Oreo using Miflash tool.
I haven't had any problem when I updated to 9. I here there is a gcam for 9 now.but I'm custom ROM.but it seemednlike on 9 my data was faster

The experience per users are different. Here's mine though.
Have this phone shipped with Oreo too, when I launch phone app everytime I'll make a call, I felt like it's slow AF, even I have the phone app updated. Then I haven't that much of the experience of Oreo version because of that.
And when I updated it to Pie version immediately after we (my family) bought this phone, for above reason, with February patch, the launch of the phone app (and almost all apps installed in this phone) seems faster than what was in Oreo. However, as other users said, there are issues: one of which is the WiFi/Bluetooth bug which the WiFi speed tend to go slow when connected to Bluetooth, and if it is connected to BT Audio, the audio/music/sound tend to stutters within 4 meters away from BT Audio equipment; GCam ports tend to have problems on focus (though it's partially fixed when you set GCam to 16:9 resolution). But so far, I'm still fine with it (and all good despite having these issues, at least it's not bricked, unlike its big brother, the Mi A2).
Here's the pick: If you're contented to what's on Oreo (plus better GCam handling and better WiFi) then stay with it. Otherwise, you can update it to Pie but with said issues.
Background: looking to "upgrade" my aging dual-sim global travel Huawei Honor 5X (BL unlocked running custom "Pie" ... ha ha) and ended up with A2 Lite (3G/32GB model - decided against the 4G/64GB) - tossed in a 64GB mSD for plenty of video storage & photos, using this as a backup & should be mostly on WiFi (5Ghz whenever possible, less congested ...) << would've gone for the A2 with bigger 6" + screen but a 4,000 mAh battery of the A2 Lite flipped the coin toss >>
Out of the box is Oreo - updated to mid 2018 and gone thru the updates, stopping just short of Pie, after installing my Apps & ran it, everything stable & smooth. Camera isn't a big deal, everything as expected & much faster & responsive compared to the Honor 5X, as good as my primary ... Motorola Moto X4 with 4G/64GB on Google "Fi" software channel, ran Oreo on it & updated since to Pie. Passed along my Moto G6 (3G/32GB) Fi variant (no NFC) to spouse with an integrated battery case (3,600 mAh + 4,000 mAh external ... "yes")
In short, I had plenty of competitive comparison - over AT&T, T-Mobile, Fi and also Ting & FreedomPop (both MNVO) networks, also while roaming abroad in Mexico & the Caribbeans recently ... just not with the new A2 Lite. I make good use of VoIP and WiFi calling, Duo/G.Voice/Hangouts but not much over WhatsApp or WeChat or FB Messenger. Whether it's on Oreo or Pie, pretty much not expecting to ever get WiFi calling enabled on AT&T or T-Mobile, but, not having Android Auto to work in our new Hyundai Sonata (2019) is not "happy" - and, AA is a problem with G6 and X4, tried all the "solutions" without rooting, as I wanted Google Pay to work on the X4 for mobile payment, sometimes.
Earlier this week, I decided - after taking precautions & making backups - upgraded A2 Lite to Pie, let it rebooted & settled down, check for more Apps updating, etc. Well, I am satisfied and happy, no problems with WiFi or LTE signals, as fast as it should be & benchmarked it with the other devices above - it's all good. My "happy dance" is with Android Auto, it worked the first time I tried and was in a hurry, it connected & Google Map is now projected onto the car's 7" touch-screen ... just couldn't get it to work on the G6 or X4 stock roms. Of course, Apple's CarPlay worked easily in the Hyundai with an iPhone SE running iOS 12.1.x
Being Android One, minimal to few bloatware (Xiaomi's bundle) is great - just switched to LawnChair v2.x launcher, so I can tweak the homescreen & lockscreen a little more. Battery life, especially on standby on WiFi is great - those are my thoughts ... I will update/amend this as necessary with any findings.
Hope this help to those using this in the Americas ...
Hello. I got infinix note7 X690b MTK6768 android10 device on which I'm trying to use GSI ROM based on android11. One of the dev made an overlay for my device and committed to THH trebble project at github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations
so the overlay is present in THH releases. But still, I am facing the following:
1. Unusual battery consumption and battery usage stats unavailable.
2. Slow speed on mobile data connection with even full strength of LTE signals.
3. Fake third sim slot with a carrier name "china unicom", where my device don't support e-sim and has only 2 physical sim slots.
Except these issues, ROM is performing perfectly without any performance problem. But these major issues driving me crazy. Could anyone suggest something how to handle? I am struggling to find a way for several months, not found any clew till today. I have also posted new issues on official THH git, but still nothing.
I'm attaching my logs as well, hoping for very tiny help from such a largest community.
