Navbar when rotating device - LineageOS Questions & Answers

Hello guys I have a Zenfone 2 ZE551ML running LOS13. Is there any way I can auto enable the navbar when I rotate the device 180º because sometimes this is really useful when I am laying in bed and the device is charging and the phone is resting on my chest (USB port is in the bottom of the device)
If not possible maybe adding a Quick Setting tile is ?

[Q] How to disable Auto-Orientation-ON on magnetic charging cable

Sorry if that has already been answered but I didn't find an answer.
When I connect a magnetic charging cable to my z1c, the phone ignores the orientation setting and always auto-rotates the screen. Is there a way to disable that and have the phone strictly stick to the settings (in my case, fixed portrait mode most of the time)?
Thanks for your time. Best regards.
If you are rooted, use the xposed module Disable Desk Dock.
Check ur smart connect settings maybe it is changing orientation when it detects ur magnetic charger.

Thx for the suggestions. I might try to install Xposed in the nearer future, I guess. In Smart Connect, there no active events.
Can anybody confirm my device acts the same as all do (or not)?
On connecting the magnetic charger, the screen will auto-rotate depending on the orientation of the phone, even with orientation fixed in settings.
Thank you for the solution.

I had the same problem - at first I thought there was something broken in Carbon Rom for the Xperia Z1 Compact which caused this crazy auto-rotation behaviour. Whenever I had connected the magnetic charging cable all my rotation-settings were overwritten and full 360° rotation was happening on every screen - even on the lockscreen. Very annoying.

This fixed it. Thank you very much.
I guess this was originally thought as a feature not a bug. It makes sense if you use the phone in the magnetic dock and its position is thus fixed. But it's definitely a bug when using a magnetic charging cable and trying to unlock a freely rotating lockscreen.
I confirm Disable Desk dock module works well on this, but...
May I ask you (the ones who have this module on Z1C) if you found any side effect?
For me is: if I have magnetic charged, when I switch off I get in a "boot" loop (sony on display coming and going).

Notification bar quick settings panel - reorder possible?

Hi,
I would like to change the notification bar quick settings panel shortcuts, basically reorder them. Because when in a call, sometimes the proximity sensor doesn't detect the ear properly and screen turns on. Then the phone goes into airplane mode because its located right at the top where your cheek touches the screen. I'm very annoyed with this. I have understood that the proximity thing has no solution. So how can I change position / remove airplane mode setting from there?

yes you can replace it. but go to local professional mobile hospital
I did it man.

Same happened to me!
What a pain in the arse. I am using Slim-Rom and a couple of options are available that have helped me overcome this inconvenience and may be available on others.
My path: Settings > Display there I find settings for Sleep , Volume Rocker Wake, Wake Upon Charge.
Since there is no way to turn the screen off, I set the device to sleep after 15 seconds of inactivity.
To turn it on, I allow the volume rocker to wake the device and if available, wake upon charge. This turns the device screen on when the charging cable is plugged in.
I know there is nothing better than the On/Off switch but I hope these little workarounds help you out.
knock knock in any kernel or cm ambient display and knock knock on statusbar on lock.
Ambient display and knock knock on statusbar on lock is in cm13 settings that i am using now, on gestures . knock knock is the best choice for you and can you find in some kernels. Knock knock on homescreen can be found in launcher settings on some launchers.

I guess Slim ROM has double tap to turn off the screen functionality. Or use gravity screen app and turn the display on and off automagically. It uses proximity and/or accelerometer.

Ambient Display?

I don't know if it is a bug but if I disable the moto display, the screen will not turn on when a notification comes in. Is there a way to enable the default Ambient Display?

Seems I overlooked this post, I was wondering the same thing!
Was anyone ever able to get stock ambient display (not Moto Active Display) working?
I ave tried all configs and disable all moto app with no success, when i disable the moto display app the ambient display setting appears but the phone doesn't wake when a notification comes in... ¿Maybe it needs a root thing, xposed or something else?
I was also hoping for a solution to this, I would love to use ambient display.

Question Using the Fold 3 as a night clock in a 90-degree unfolded state

I'd like to use the Fold 3 as a night clock, positioned next to the bed, with the phone unfolded to the right angle and the AOD displaying on the outer small display - now being vertical and thus easily seen from bed only upon opening your eyes.
The problem is - before you reach this 90-degree position the outer display is shut off and the internal display comes on.
Anyone have an idea how this might be achievable?
80 or even 85° at a push seems to leave the outside screen on. Is 80° not enough?
Let me try - it seemed to me it flipped sooner )
You are right - at least on A12 now it's OK. I seem to remember it flipped sooner on A11, but maybe imagining things now... )
OK - so this is what confused me: I was opening the phone with the AOD on already - there it flips to the internal display immediately once you open it slightly.
If you keep the screen on, you can open to like 80 degrees and then turn the screen off - the AOD comes up still on the external display.
Maybe a short video might help?
1. While the phone is folded, open camera app.
2. Choose "selfie on the right top corner
3. Unfold the phone to 90°
4. Turn off phone's screen
5. ???
6. Profit

I'm on A11. I don't have AOD on, though, I was just using normal lock screen.

I just use a wireless charging stand. It can be charged landscape if that's what you want, but I keep mine portrait. The angle of the stand works well for me. I got it on Amazon and it is the one covered in fabric, a nice modern look to it.
I found an easier way: )
- Close the phone.
- Turn it on.
- Open it slightly, so display doesn't switch.
- Turn it off - AOD will come on.
- Now you can open to any angle - AOD will stay outside! )
