[Feature Request] 3G/2G/LTE Tile / Toggle - LineageOS Questions & Answers

I was wondering if you could bring back the 2G/3G/LTE toggle/tile back. You might ask who needs it but It helps saving alot of battery where the signal isnt strong enough or by train rides where the phone constantly searching for a LTE or 3G signal. Or for people who doesnt always need fast internet connection, keeps it on 2g and prefers to switch to LTE network when needed... I will very much appreciate if you could consider bringing the toggle/tile back.. Thanks.

Me too...

Thanks for the link mate, the app has some issues unfortunately. And i really would like it native as a tile which CM already had it for a long time. I would love to see it implemented back in the rom again..

In the past I created profiles, for 2G 3G and 4G network and used tile for switching between such profiles...
Unfortunately I noted there is no more tile now for switching profiles...

This function can be part of Profiles. But the profile tile for fast switch is disappeared too.

Dear LineageOS devs, please hear us.. :fingers-crossed:

I was just about to make the same suggestion when I found this thread. I would love at least a 3g/4g toggle (2g/3g/4g/LTE-A even better), because I have to switch between 3g and 4g a lot. LTE-A pretty much doesn't exist in my country, but it would nice to have in case I go someplace modern. My S4 9506 supports it.

[Q] direct switch 2G / 3G

Hi, would you know a widget / application that could switch between 2G/3G directly, without asking the user to select the network on a settings page?
bye
Nico
Managed to get that on the Hydr0genMod rom via the power control widget that came along with it.

Wrong place to post this question mate, should be in Q&A
But look up widgetsoid, there's a swich I use in there and it comes with customisable widget switch things, it was exactly what I was looking for and I've now been using it for months =)

same thing with "widgetsoid", only a shortcut, despite it seems to be a great app !
edit: I just read on android SDK doc that the function to use to set the value of choosing 2G or 3G is readonly...
So the answer to my question will be "no" until an Android version of the framework has got this functionnality available in its SDK.
Thanks for your anwers

Nico
This is available on Cyanogenmod...

Manual 2G/3G/4G selection

Hello there.
Any way to manually enable/disable 2G, 3G and 4G networks?
Stock ROM doesn't allow only 3G+4G for example...
Thanks and best regards

Will this work for u? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.brownent.switchit 2g is edge, 3g is gprs and 4g is WCDMA (that should be it, not entirely sure though.)
Smack that Thanks button if I helped!
KitKat came in on my OmniROM, running on my Note 2.
Sent from a small country called Singapore.
P.S. Time for school, not much time for XDA
It's what in searching for but, unfortunately, it's not compatible with my device...
Thanks anyway!

[DEVS REQUIRED] Is it possible to enable double-tap-to-wake function on G Pro?

I have always dreamed of having the double-tap-to-wake function on this phone. As far as I know, the kernel has to be capable of supporting this feature.
So I was wondering... Is it possible for any developer to modify or create a kernel that supports this feature? I feel that this will be very appreciated by the G Pro community. Also, if the is a hardware or any type of restriction, please tell me.
Thank you for your attention
Well Dan its all up to our master @Emmanuel U if he decide to integrate it.
Personally i dont think it's a good idea. I had it on 4.3 roms (back in days) with mserg kernel(i think),
and as a postpaid user dont need it. I had a lot of in pocket unlocks and some nice surprise bills
It would be nice as a possible enable/disable feature but prolly wouldn't use it... cheers :good:

You're right with the accedental unlocks, but it would be nice to have it as an option. I use a case that covers back and screen, so there are less probabilities for that to happen in my situation. I know it's not necessary, but again it's nice to have more options available. Best regards

I can look into implementing it, but I would never default it enabled or even encourage using it. Those kinda things like to suck up battery plus like you said, can have unintended outcomes.
I agree, I think it would be a cool feature to be able to enable/disable.. --- Anything on this yet??
miui port for e988, already got doubletap to wake/sleep, swipe to wake/sleep for a very long long time

I´ll try it thanks, but I would like to have it on AOSP CM based roms, that´s why I asked for a kernel.
Heads up
Just a reminder that I haven't forgotten about this request, I just haven't had enough time to develop anything recently. I'll try to get something going soon, but no ETA with school back in session
@Emmanuel U by chance could you be able to get knock on/off working for the L.P. rom by bountyman? I know you have CM work just thought I would ask lol

Well I've already implemented sweep2wake and doubletap2wake, I can look into that soon.
Edit: that seems to be a rom feature, like double tap status bar to sleep
Right we have doubletap2sleep but its th wake function that doesnt work i found an alternate method but it uses the proximity sensor and wakes on its own the pocket

Hidden Menu benefits

Hello guys, has the title says, what benefits I can get from the hidden menu on the G4 H811?
I recently turned OFF Fast dormancy mode and I see tons of options like changing bands on LTE or even LTE aggregation.
Any options I can turn on OFF that give positive results?

Not really and sometimes launching those activities outside their intended original source can cause all kinds of crazy **** to happen.. now you can use the app quick shortcut maker and make a direct shortcut to all kinds of system settings and a bunch that you cannot even get to MV system settings menus which is really cool like a direct shortcut to the usage manager that shows your battery running apps and data usage in a single section altogether that's not in the regular settings and all kinds of other settings and some that have been disabled by the carrier… be careful and for god sakes do not touch the system shutdown monitor activity because I saw someone take weeks to figure out how to pool their phone back out from a solid brick where the power wouldn't even come on at all just by clicking launch on that activity lol
Through my ancient eyes comes the certainty of decay... LG G4 & L 70

I feel ya man better safe than sorry huh lol. But there is some cool stuff mainly making direct Shortcuts to specific system settings is what I do and settings and features the carrier disabled which most always disable something (verizon being the worst, control freaks). Like I can reenable stock launcher themes on my g4 verizon cut out, using the activities. The app QUICK SHORTCUT MAKER is a priceless tool and has practically no limits. Will even let you try the activity in the app just use comon sense and don't hesitate to ask and if you need any other help pm me and I'll take a swing at it. Good luck

Perfectly simple. I like it.
