I have been getting a lot of FC since the March update. Anyone else having issues? It's gotten really bad the last two days. I am unrooted and bone stock except for substratum.
I'm on the NPG05E beta, and I'm getting a lot of force closes also... Annoying as hell.

What is force closing?
Do you have any logs?
Substratum had a huge update a few days ago and recommended uninstalling all themes, removing cache/data, uninstalling, rebooting and then reinstalling things.
I've only noticed it on my games but I'm using those more than other apps. Dawn of Titans and clash of clans. I've had other apps force close but it's more annoying in my games.

On my G2, I've noticed that previously perfectly working apps will suddenly stop working, giving me a force close error whenever I try to launch them after being installed for a period of time. The only way I've been able to fix it is by uninstalling and then reinstalling the application.
Has this occurred to anyone else? And what should I do to fix this problem?
yes, i had this problem a few days ago...i did a factory reset and everything works fine as of now.
are there any solutions that don't require a wipe?
i had to wipe, and i lost all my mileage records i had entered into the mileage app, and my text messages before i backed them up...
its not too bad when its 2 weeks worth of information... but if this is going to occur often, its not going to be pretty
The two times that happened to me a simple power off/power on worked and they stopped Force Closing. I'm taking it that it didn't work in your situation and the uninstall/reinstall was the only fix?
yea i tried rebooting it several times, but after my latest wipe, nothing bad has happened...
still an issue that should be raised if its been replicated more than once
Ive had this problem with the stock browser and twitter, rebooting seemed to fix it.
Ah, one of those times where fix_permissions would be nice.
I've had to uninstall and re-install several of my apps because they've been force closing.

I've had this happen and it was acting really weird before it did it. It did like a vicious reboot and just about any app other than stock got a force close upon opening. It's gotta be software issues, god I hate stock roms. Damn TMobile and trying to restricting our joy of root.

This is starting to happen to me on my G2 as well now. I have uninstalled the Apps I could (except the preinstalled ones) and still they are force closing on me. I also have Factory Reset the phone several times and it still is happening. I have already exchanged my G2 once at Walmart for a flickering screen but im pretty sure the 14 days are up now with them. At this point I'm sure I have to call Tmobile.
Anyone have any ideas before I call T-Mobile?
I'm not rooted at all just plain stock.
Thanks
Hi all,
I've had my Bell G3 for a few days now, and I've run into a weird issue. I don't play many games on my device, but the two I do enjoy are crashing on launch.
Up first is Timberman. This one has never worked. I start it up, get to the very first company screen, and the app crashes, asking me to send in a report.
Up next is Clash of Clans. The weird part here is that it was working fine. Then suddenly I go to start it up, and nothing. I just get a black screen. IT doesn't seem to have been updated, and I haven't done anything recent that I can think of that would cause this.
I've tried restarting the device. Deleting data. Uninstalling and re-installing the apps.
I switched from Dalvik to ART as soon as I unboxed the device, so that may be a factor, but I was running Clash of Clans perfectly for a few days before the trouble started.
I've run out of ideas and was wondering if anyone else has experienced similar problems?
Thanks!
ART causes this kind of thing with a lot of apps. Try it in Dalvik. I'd be surprised if there were a compatability issue with our phones with Clash of Clans because it came preinstalled on my Verizon version.
The one I've experienced this with is SMASH HIT. I noticed it only happens when there's a poor or nonexistent signal/data connection for the cell network. It may be just a bug in the specific app which calls out for data when it starts, I emailed the publisher.
ETA: I do not have ART enabled.

I'm guessing that it is indeed ART being a bad boy. Essentially I had to switch back to Dalvik, delete data, uninstall and re-install. Both Clash of Clans and Timberman are working now.
Thanks for the advice. I was kind of afraid that it would be the case. I guess ART just isn't ready for prime time as of yet.
Is anyone else getting Google Play Services crash in Android O? It happens shortly after starting/rebooting the phone. "Reopen the app" works fine and it does not error out again until another phone start. It is happening on both my Pixel XL and my wife's Pixel, and while it does not happen every time it happens more often than not.
That happened to me a couple times after I updated to O last night, but not since.
happened to me as well.
force stopped the app
cleared cache
cleared storage
rebooted
all appears well so far
It seamed to stop for a day after clearing data/cache, but maybe I just got lucky. It is back again and another data/cache clear has not stopped it.
Might have been a server side issue that Google fixed. No crashes in over a day on Pixel or Pixel XL despite multiple reboots.
Updating to the February patch on my Pixel XL. While downloading the APKs some apps in the Play Store they freeze at 100%. Stand still for about 30secs to a minute. Didnt get this last month. Anyone having the same thing happen?
Have you tried turning it off and turning it back on?
Have you tried clearing cache/data for Play Store app in Settings?
Yes I did. Peeps in Reddit stated that they do have the issue as well and think it's a Google services thing.
Doing the February update now, and my phone was running very slowly on the first step, seems to be better on the second step - but generally when I do updates, I just let the phone get on with it. I guess that's why there's a pause button, so you can update when you're not using the phone.
Any Pixel users still experiencing this issue? If so, can you please chime in on https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/77666592
Hi All,
Since Oreo, the Google clock widget takes 30sec to 1min to load once the phone has been rebooted. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling and clearing data/cache, but to no avail. It' annoying at best.
Are there any workarounds to this?
Thanks.
My Calendar widget is the same way since about Oreo. It may take up to a couple minutes. It was so bad the first few times I noticed I did all the cache clearing, uninstalling to stock, etc. to no avail. I have accepted it is what it is and moved on.
