Reboots on GSM ONLY - T-Mobile LG G3

Hellow friends....
It's been a long time since i ve been using T-Mobile lg g3 but right now i an facing a problem on my device....
Whatever rom i tried my phone always started random rebooting on GSM MODE. I don't know how to fix this...
Switching to WCSMA ONLY fixed the problem for a while but in my area the WCDMA signals are not pretty good and i normally use WiFi so i need to stay on GAM for better connectivity and calls.....
Any help on how to fix these reboots????
Thanks

probablymind is a problem caused by the battery, on my experience.
or too can be the mooded rom that you are using

Xial, what ROM are you using?
I know that all of a sudden users of Tekcafe got hit by something, waking up a once quiet thread. Signal issues and whatnot. Some say it's related to updated Google services.
Even if that's not the case, are you using any custom kernels or made any changes?

I am currently on the stock rom and have dual booted the resurrection remix M. And no custom kernels as well.... Tried changing the battery but all other modes are working fine... Lte works absolutely fine. Wcdma works but as son as i switch to the GSM only mode it starts rebooting and keeps on rebooting...... Tried it on crdroid. And Bliss as well... And on currently now the

Now I also think that its a battery issue becz whenever it is at 80+ the phone works on gsm only... but when it drops below 80 it starts sudden restarts on gsm only.
but thw wcdma only works absolutely fine!! or maybe it is due to the lack of the gsm bands that are available on the tmobile version..

I just had my device sent in and they completely replaced everything on the inside, not sure why they didn't just give me a new unit.. But anyways. It's been a few weeks and there were no restarts got the first week but then started again slowly, and now they happen frequently again...

That's almost certainly the case. I have a bad unit myself and hope to get it replaced soon. LG's QC has a bad reputation with this model.

Is that a fact that they changed the parts in there? I sent mine not too long ago and it was ok for 2 weeks then reboots were constant (2-4x a day) after that. I figured they just did a factory reset.

Go back to GB and there will be no random reboots guaranteed.
Just for fun, try the following.
1. Power off your phone.
2. Remove the Battery.
3. Remove the SD Card.
4. Leave it alone for at least 10 minutes.
5. Put everything back together and see if that made any difference.

Yes, they specifically told me what was replaced.. I don't have the sheet with me right now to list it, but it's basically everything on the inside.

HoNo has a GB rom that you can flash. If you find GB weird then stick with ICS and the reboots.

I had random reboots on almost all Roms except when I was on my Stock GB (V10f), ICS leak (v18f) and stock ICS (v20C) before installing any Custom Roms... The best Custom ROM I used was Liquid Nitro with Wind Kernel.. the mobile was stable, battery life was a lot better..
Currently I am on CM10.1 nightly with Wind kernel 1.0.. I am getting almost 36 hours on regular usage and no Random reboots...
All the best..

Wait, what? Are you saying you are getting 36hrs of battery life? Stock battery? I can believable. I'm lucky if I get 16hrs on HoNo CM9.
Also, to keep on topic, I think the OP might have a hardware issue and if so no ROM will truly fix it; some might do better at masking it though. FWIW I got probably one reboot every other day on CM10, but I get maybe one a week on HoNO CM9 and they seem to only occur when the battery is low.
i got the odd random reboot on stock GB.
on stock ICS i don't remember getting much, not sure.
i put CWM on the phone, bricked it, unbricked it
haven't had a random reboot since, been 2 weeks now, the roms i've used are cm10 (which had great performance, the odd flicker on the screen entering standby mode, poor battery life, didn't support MHL) but didn't get any reboots. (ran that for about 5 days)
i then switched to mattman86's liquidnitroV6 which is linked in my sig, i like it better, its stock isc bloatware removed wind3 kernel added supports mhl, good battery life, good performance, no flickers) only problem i have with this rom is that is that it has stock bluetooth stack, and doesn't support alot of bluetooth outside of headsets etc (cm10 has full bluetooth stack).
you may give Quattrimus a try. tdmcode fixed many bugs causing reboot or bsod with stock CM10.
Hi everyone
After install almost every ROM the only one that doesnt had asingle rebbot is GLORYROM it is truely th Glory for me.
I dont know what i did but i have 45 hours without a reboot.
This is the cronologic order for what i did
1, i install Glory Rom, coming from HONOS Full throtle and i get a reboot 15 hours later
2. i search A tread about flashing Basebands by HONOS in the thread it says that it came with the baseband and firmware (i dont know about that stuff) i just wonder What would happen if i change it?
3. i install v10j baseband and i get a reboot 27 hours later
4. Them i Install v10f and untill know i have no more reboots. i already had almost 46 hours without a single reboot, im really happy i hope everythingg keep working as it is.
The Glory Rom it fast!!! Lag free, stable, and reboot free so long!
The Battery life isnt the best compare with CM10.1 nigthly but i manage get 22 hours without charging and i get 5% left and that really good for me so thanks to all of you for respond and i hope not get another ramdon reboot.
And if somebody explain to me the miracle come on and be my guess jejejeeeje!

Too much reboots! Why?

Ive testing a few roms since I have my phone...
1.PAC Rom(reboots as hell) Its unstable so I accept that.
2.HO!NO! V20f v2(reboots everywhere) Based on stock but with a custom kernel so I accept that
3.Stock V20c with stock kernel(Even with this I get random reboots) People say this the most stable.
So Ive been using the most recent CM10.1 Stable build and this is the only rom that I can say that is stable 2 or 3 random reboots in a day, not like V20c I used to have more than 8 in a day! I need to use some vpn modules and cm10 lacks of it, so Im condenned to get random reboots for all my life! or until I sell this phone?
Yea this phone tends to be junk for some people. There's more problems than we can think of to resolve... I think I'm gonna get a new one, something supported by google. See the thing is there might be custom roms with the newest android and all that but without official updates you don't get updated kernels, firmware, basebands, etc specific to that phone. Devs thankfully update them and hack them as best they can. These are all parts of the software apart from the "rom" (like CM10.1).

I strongly disagree. These phones are not junk. Just because there are some defective phones being resold mainly by private parties or non-official channels doesn't mean they are junk. With that being said if you are one of the unfortunate ones that purchased a defective phone without warranty I would recommend running gingerbread as you will not have issues. The vast majority of these phones are very reliable and will run stock fine without reboots. If one makes purchases of electronics outside official channels there is always that risk. Always be aware of who you are purchasing from and the warranty they provide in case it doesn't have an official mfg warranty.

Unless you are overclocking, your phone is defective.
Try underclocking it to 1.2ghz and see if it stabilizes. You can also try bumping up the voltage across the board to see if that helps.
And defects can occur with ANY phone, not just this one. Funny you mention the GNex, as there were a TON of defects with that phone, particularly in some of the batches produced in China; the Korean made ones seemed to suffer less. If you buy a used GNex try to get one tagged "Made in Korea".

When I say stock it also includes the multitude of modified ROMs based on stock. CM10.x is still a beta is subject to issues like reboots, BSOD, parts not functioning like BT, etc. If one experiences rebooting problems on stock ICS then the phone is defective. A benchmark if you will.

I was just saying the same thing at least with stock. If one is having reboot issues with stock it points to a defect in the phone, but with the cyanogen based ROMs that isn't always the case due to it being a work in progress as different components get tuned/optimized. That's all no biggie.

ICS ROMs for this phone were always more stable for me. All of the problems I've had are with JB ROMs.
Sent from my LG-P930 using xda app-developers app
I never solve my reboots issues with Stock ICS, the only ROM that worked for me was v18f (ICS leak). My conclusion: faulty hardware.
Su640 iwas having random reboots on jb ROM and they just started after i flashed custom 4.1.2. I tried many different version of the stock custom roms.
Than i flashed kdz from scratch 30D than i rooted it, put custom recovery and few other stuff i always change, but that also started giving me reboots after a day.
So i did it again kdz full wipe first using cwm
Rooted it but left the recovery and bootloader alone. Deleted stuff, change stuff like dialer, sms...
After week no reboots as of now.

...or new mainboard, as in my case. Running JB with frequency up to 1.8 GHz just fine.
The random reboots are due to heating of the processor because of this processor and GPU welding and thus move reboots appear ... will say but when it cools and
should stop if I believed that, too .... But if you remember the case of red lights xbox 360 is the same case happens to this cell ....
I'm no technician is just the assumption that I have had the experience that the xbox and is the same case
My phone now is stable with a Max frequency: 1188Mhz and Min: 648Mhz

Why don't you ask one of the kernel developers to add fast charge? I find it odd that one of them haven't added it already. Then again they might have because I have no interest in customized stock kernals so I haven't been looking.

[Q] Constant Signal Dropping on Cyanogen Based Roms

I've been having an issue on AOSP Roms where my Signal Strength can go from full to zilch and seconds later back to full. This constantly happens and seems to be worse over WiFi.
I have an unlocked LG G3 D851e from T-Mobile that I am using on AT&T Network. When using the stock ROM or using a Rom like Cloudy service is impeccable and does not drop.
From searching other threads i see to be sure SElinux is set to Permissive and it is. I have no battery saving apps or any app that could cause this.
Currently on SOKP unofficial 5.1.1
However I was on AICP, PA, and resurrection remix within the last few days.
Baseband: MPSS.DI.2.0.1.c.1.3-00053-M8974AAAAANPZM-1
Stock is too clunky and slow for me ( Same with Cloud) however with my service dropping i miss calls, have poor call quality, and text messages seem to come in delayed.
--Note--
This has happened on my Note 3 Unlocked HLTETMO where i ended up selling the phone recently and started using this only to have the same problem.
Surely there is someone else having a similar issue!? Or someone who knows how to fix this ?
I have been having the same issue since 5.1 came out. I have yet to find a fix. Going back to stock helped but as you stated stock is ugly and very awkward. I guess we will have to hold on and see if it gets sorted out.
This isn't device related, I'm having this issue on the Oneplus One and G2 also. Even my moms nexus is doing it. All of us are on T-Mobile, wonder if its our network

I'm on AT&T with an Unlocked T-Mobile phone. It is ONLY on AOSP Roms, stock roms work fine. It did happen on my Note 3 that was also T-mobile that I unlocked and used on AT&T. Something happened early into lollipop that caused this, as ROms pre lollipop worked fine. It is the most frustrating thing to me, and it is the reason I plan on getting a Nexus/OP2 very soon. Unless Android M comes on the G3 and fixes the issue.

Very nice looking ROM (i like LG's approach to lollipop design), and everything works, including Qremote, and other LG features. Battery drain just a little more than stock 4.4.2. V7i looks even better (exactly like G4), but GPS may not work.

Its original LG stock lollipop whit LG G4 apps. Installation is a bit tricky because you need Philz Touch recovery to install rom, and because this recovery have an error you will end up will phone constantly booting to recovery, so you need to have twrp recovery in zip and install it from Philz Touch recovery in order to boot up you phone.
Rom itself is grate just the thing that all of us (excluding those from Korea) were waiting for original - rom from LG that works and nothing crash or hang

Install Ampere and check the current you're getting from your charger/cable. If it's low (under 400mA) you may want to try with other charger or cable.
Also, if charging on USB, enable Fast charge in Kernel Adiutor.

Your suggestion to use Ampere saved me. I begin looking further since my mA was less than 50 lol..... Your 400 statement made me curious. Turns out the T-Mobile My Account App was killing the battery, causing the phone to get hot and not charge. Once I uninstalled that app, charging has been working for a few days now. Which is weird since I used that app on stock, CM, and Bliss without that charging issue. All good though. Thanks for replying

Hm, that one is a weird reason for low battery charging... Either way, you shouldn't get under 400mA for this phone, it simply won't charge (at least mine doesn't). Good stable 2A charger or usb3 port (max current is 1A for those) should fix the issue. Also, avkid using powerbanks, in my experience they do rechaege your phone, but charge is bad - it drains itself, lol.
