Hey i bought a HTC one X from Ebay. it already came rooted and with S-off .. so i decided to flash rom and i downloaded a wrong ROM and wiped system by mistake. Now my phone has no ROM installed in it and i wiped my system. ADB is not working because i did not enable debugging. SO i cannot sideload a ROM. what should i do now ? Fastboot is working though.
I tried flashing many RUU's but i dont know which region it is. can any one tell me what ruu should i use ? Oh and i forgot , i flashed a wrong boot.img and recovery.img also , so i dont know what boot.img i should flash also. But i have s-off i should be able to flash anu RUU right? why is it not happening ? Thanks !!

2. Cant run SunShine as a result of Xposed
3. Cant flash RUU or .Ziip every time it tries i get a failure both using TWRP or via ADB
I am trying to return my handset to 100% stock and spent the last 6 hours on google following guides but think I am missing something simple

What are you trying to run, exactly?
You can only run an RUU if its intended for your CID and MID.
If there is a stock nandroid (made before Xposed was installed) then restore that.
Otherwise, restore the 4.20.770 stock nandroid found here (with instructions): http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/tutorial-how-to-stock-stock-twrp-t3086860
Hello,
I tried to flash a RUU on my m8 but i am not successful currently.

Since you're S-ON, you will not be able to flash RUUs or firmware below your current ROM version. You can however restore twrp backups of Lollipop ROMs which work fine with your current 6.12 Marshmallow firmware. Otherwise, you can use twrp to flash any custom ROM based on marshmallow & lollipop.
Here's a link to stock marshmallow RUU (6.12.401.4) in zip format, which you should flash from bootloader.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24369303960687057
Cheers
I flash the twrp's recovery. I can access to it but when I try to go to install the zip file, twrp refuse to install it with "Zip file is corrupt". I double check md5 sum and they seems to be correct =( .
I also try to flash it with fastboot, just in case, and no result but with a different error: "(bootloader) zip header checking... FAILED (remote: 32 header error) "

You don't flash RUUs with TWRP, you flash them with fastboot in RUU mode. Which you seemed to know based on your top post, so I'm not sure why you tried to flash with TWRP this time.

You need to relock your bootloader to RUU with s-on.
Command: fastboot oem lock

I'm not sure which way you want to go, but:
1. To flash the RUU zip file:
A. You need to put it at the root of your SD CARD and rename it to 0P6BIMG.zip
B. Turn your phone off, then start it into bootloader.
C. Follow the instructions in RED to flash. You will lose all data as the RUU will format all partitions.
2. To install a custom ROM or restore a twrp-specific backup, use TWRP's install function, or restore function respectively.
Cheers

I'm not sure what RUUs you have tried to flash, but this is the last RUU version for your model (T-Mo Germany)
You can flash it with fastboot commands in RUU mode, or you can flash it via the SD card method.
The SD card method is easiest. Rename the .zip by deleting everything in the name of it except for 0P6BIMG (and .zip of course), put it onto your extSD, and boot to bootloader. The rest is pretty much automatic.
Note that since you are S-On, you will have to relock your bootloader first with either method. The command for that is fastboot oem lock
Good luck!
Very helpful thread. Wanted to ask for help here, but already solved the issue
Hi All,
Can't get out of the booting loop. I tried flashing new ROM but it throw following error "Device halted Due to Large Image Update Fail Done" when i try to flash it from the SD card. I also tried flashing from the CMD but it says "Invalid sparse file format at header mgi".
While flashing the ROM from CMD, I re-locked the oem and and now its showing s-on status.
Device details are below.

1. Rename the file you downloaded to '0PFJIMG.zip' without quotation. (First letter is Zero, not O)
2. Copy the file to your External memory card.
3. Boot the device into Bootloader. The device will do the rest of the work
4. If the device asks for permission, Press Yes (Power Button)
To boot into bootloader:
Turn off your phone.
Hold down Volume Down + Power button.
Release the Power button when device starts and continue to hold the Volume Down key until you enter into the bootloader.

Unlock your bootloader. S-OFF & SuperCID your device. Your firmware files may be corrupted. Then try installing the RUU. It will work!

You already have S-OFF and SuperCID. So, you will have no problem flashing a RUU or a custom ROM. To flash a marsmallow RUU follow instruction provided by @vuk1963 from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-820/help/method-flash-stock-firmware-6-0-1-htc-t3441649

To S-OFF and SuperCID your device:
You can use sunshine S-OFF tool from http://theroot.ninja which requires 25$ via In-app Purchases & Out-of-app Purchases.
Or you can buy xtc2clip form www.xtc2clip.org which now requires 115$ .
I'm suggesting, Search for a local phone repair shop that uses xtc2clip to S-OFF devices. It is the cheapest way. Costs only 5-10$
Good Luck!
