Hello ppl. So, I was playing with my old phone, Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II, (it's always a good idea to torture old phones instead of the new ones, right?) and I've done a lot of stuff with it, but for a long time, nothing was happening. So, this is the list of what I did with the phone:
0. I had my original OS rooted, then unrooted it, and I was said to use twrp, if I'm not wrong (can look up, but it will take time).
1. Rooted it. Knox disabled root. (I had the latest, NC2, update)
2. Tried to flash the older OS. It wouldn't. I guess because of Knox.
3. As I was trying to flash older OS, I kind of lost the OS, and had no OS at all. No problem, I thought. I'd just download and flash several other versions of OS, and eventually I'll find one that'll be working
4. It appeared to be the latest, NC2.
5. Back to root. Until restart.
6. Whenever I root, I try to install cwm with ROM Manager. Upon restart, the recovery is <3e>. Not <2e> or cwm. Not even twrp that I had.
7. So now I'm here, and I just don't know what to do. I remember that I somehow disabled the knox, and I'm sure just by updating the SuperSU (or its binaries? But I can't find any in the market), but this CF-AutoRoot installs latest SuperSU, and so there is nothing to update.
Then I finally figured out what to do. I should warn you, it took me 3 days to figure out what to do to install CWM, so if you have any kind of a problem with installing it, just use this tutorial, I guess. Even though it covers just the basics.
1. In SuperSU, choose "Uninstall to install other Superuser application" or similar.
2. It was necessary for my phone to actually update binaries
3. As the Knox was disabled by updating the binaries, I could now use ROM Manager to install Clockworkmod Recovery (Yay!!!)
4. Download the Cyanogenmod ROM, either through ROM Manager or the web site (choose most stable and recent. Otherwise, who knows what problems it might have) and install it:
4.1 In Clockworkmod (CWM, cwm) (if you still haven't copied the Cyanogenmod (CM, cm) and Google Apps to your external SD, please do that. Just restart the phone and copy it from your computer. Download from the web site) (Vol Up, Home, Power from the phone turned off) just choose the right update and press to install. Then do the same for Google Apps.
4.2 In ROM Manager, just choose the CM and don't forget to install Google Apps.
5. When my phone actually installed Cyanogenmod, it loaded forever. As I was sleepy, I don't actually remember what I did, but I reinstalled the ROM several times, and finally, it worked.
6. Now I'm enjoying my old phone that uses Cyanogenmod.
I made this guide for all who are facing difficulties while flashing/installing Xposed on their Yureka phone. Me too own a Yureka Plus phone. Therefore, I understand your situation better, I know you all are wondering why you are getting no space left error
Well read on
NOTE: I"M NOT RESPONSIBLE IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO YOUR DEVICE | Please install it only if you're willing to take the risk of boot loops. Just because it's working fine and stable for me doesn't mean it will work for everyone the same way
Follow these simple steps:
*Important: Before doing anything stupid it is recommended Uninstalling previous framework if any using xposed-uninstaller*.zip from http://dl-xda.xposed.info/framework/ Can be flashed with a custom recovery (e.g. TWRP) to uninstall the framework.
1. Download xposed*.zip from http://dl-xda.xposed.info/framework/: Must be flashed with a custom recovery (e.g. TWRP) to install the framework.
SDK21 is Android 5.0 (Lollipop), SDK22 is Android 5.1 (also Lollipop) and SDK23 is Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). *NOTE use arm64 version only because Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 MSM8939 is ARMv8-based SoC
2. Flash the complete *zip file with the help of TWRP recovery (Recommended)
3. Don't forget to Wipe Dalvik/Cache then Reboot. Wait until the process is finished. Optimization may take up to 15-30 min. depending upon how many apps you've installed.
Now you've successfully installed/flashed Xposed Framework .
5. After successfully flashing the xposed framework install XposedInstaller_3.0-alpha4.apk
Those who are having no space left error
I suggest you to uninstall some useless system apps. it happens because of system apps like YouTube, Google Play Music, Play Movies etc.
Here's exactly what I did.
In my case I flashed xposed-v86-sdk22-arm64.zip I was getting no space left error too so, I uninstalled some useless system crap and at last it worked. After successfully flashing Wiped Cache and rebooted the device. The optimization took approx 15-20 minutes. Then Installed the Xposed APK. and Believe me it worked.
Don't forget to HIT Thanks! button if it helps.
I you are still facing any difficulties please leave your comments here.
Regards ,
RexXLR8.
I decided to update my phone from CM13 to CM14.1 the other day without having read anything about CM14 and not realising how new it was (yes I know, stupid thing to do!).
So after the update I've had nothing but problems with google services not working properly, so I uninstalled google services from the apps menu within the phone, downloaded the Android 7.1, ARM, Stock version of GAPPS from opengapps.org and booted my phone into TWRP and flashed the newest version of gapps.
This fixed the issue with google services not responding, however now none of my apps work.
Anytime I try to load an app such as facebook, email, browser. My phone will freeze for several minutes and then the app will just tell me its stopped responding.
Does anybody have any advice on what to do? (I dont care if the result is that I have to wipe the phone and lose everything on it, just want my phone to work again!)
Edit: an additional piece of info, any time I try to do something that requires root access (for example moving an app to my SD card) my phone will tell me that I don't have root access, even though I must because I'm using cyanogenmod...

Try doing a clean flash of the rom along with the respective gapps package. You have to flash the rom and gapps together. And for the root issue, you have to first turn ON root from the developer options in settings.

Scrap this, solved the additional problem I was having.
Thank you for your assistance, all is working well now
Hi guys, is there a way to change the carrier name? The correct name for my carrier is "telecom Italia spa", not "... Italiz spa". Thanks in advance.

You can flash it using TWRP. Copy the ROM to ur sdcard / internal storge. Boot to recovery. Goto TWRP recovery menu - choose Install option, select the ROM zip, and install. Very straight forward. After installing, you can flash OpenGapps ARM 6.0.1 PICO or NANO package for further app support. Xposed framwork ( wanam ) is good addition if you know what you are doing. 1st reboot will take some time. This is the 1st custom ROM for SM-1600 ever.
It is quite stable and good battery life as well. For better battery, install Govtuner, open terminal app and type following.
Code:
su
govtuner
And select "Balanced" or "Battery" option. For further optimization, you can use pre-installed L-speed app.
You can download from following link. Feel free to create mirror.

I used ZCU1AQB1 only. As personally using the same stock based firmware. Still now stable and rocking I am ameture developer though - need more people to look into this device - it is having good potential ! Presently working on completely disabling selinux or atleast permissive mode. May be next version
I was unable to download the ROM today. Is the link down?

Thanks! I got it downloaded. However after I installed it, WiFi refuses to stay on. I toggle it on and it just toggles back off right away by itself. When I reflash stock software, I can use Wifi, however.

Did you wiped your data partition before installing the ROM ? If possible, backup your internal storage, go to wipe, select wipe data, and type yes. Then using adb sideload - try to install the ROM
1. started with firmware g1600zcu1aph8-20160909140813_chc . This was a clean install through Odin.
Software settings at this point:
android version 6.0.1
baseband g1600zcu1aph8
kernel 3.18.24-8981871
build number mmb29m.g1600zcu1aph8
se for android status enforcing
knox version 2.6
android security patch level august 1, 2016
2. I then went into download mode, and using Odin, flashed the TWRP found on this page: https://www.aryablog.info/2017/06/rooting-and-installing-google-app-on-galaxy-folder-2-sm-g1600/ . This starts out in Russian and you have to switch to English every time.
Before flashing TWRP, download mode reported:
Product name SM-g1600
current binary: samsung official
system status: official
reactivation lock: off
crom service: unlock
knox warranty void: 0x1 (0x20c)
qualcom secureboot enable (csb)
ap swrev: S1, T1, R1, A1, P1
secure download: enable
download mode!!
3. Reboot, wifi is still working
4. Boot into recovery (TWRP)
5. At this point the phone is not rooted. I now did an advanced wipe, including dalvik/art cache, data, internal storage, and cache
6. Now I flashed your ROM Sillycon_beta_1_sm _g1600.zip via TWRP
I select safe format
I get a lot of "failed to mount data" errors here before the flash starts
No errors appear during the flashing process
script says everything went fine
7. I reboot
During reboot at the top it says: set warranty bit: kernel
There's a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark and next to it some Chinese text that google translate says is a warning that the phone has a non-samsung official system.
8. green screen with cogs while "android is upgrading" and optimizing apps
9. System boots to main screen. I attempt to toggle Wlan on, but after half a second it just toggles back off.
10. At this point, I put in my SIM card to see if that affects anything. Wlan still won't stay toggled on. I am able to make a phone call without any problems. I wasn't able to login to Google, getting the error that I don't have a network connection.
I go into mobile networks. I check Preferred Networks which is blank. Network mode is LTE/3g/2g auto connect. access point names has nothing selected, I set for ATT Nextgenphone. Under network operators I select Select Automatically and get "registered on network" popup.
Still can't sign in.
I then tried all the other options under Access point names, with the same result.
It should be mentioned that I have an AT&T microcell, so picking up data signal should not be a problem inside the house.
This is not my "daily driver" phone, so I'm not in a jam here. I can only guess it's possibly something to do with the radio (modem?) file, or something to do with using this phone on AT&T in the US.
Btw I fixed the data so it worked. For some reason it was toggled off.

Can you provide links to the TWRP version you are using? There are different TWRPs for different phones, and the twrp app doesn't list this phone.
TWRP
Attached with this reply. Though I personally changed the default language to english. But, still under modification. I will share soon. Also suggesting you to try Beta2. Flash it, then install following
1) OpenGapp Pico ( for arm )
2) Wanam Xposed https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862685344
3) Any Viper4android for Marshmallow.
New one is much faster and daily driver. No knox popup, so su issue ( sepolicy injected ). Please don't forgot to press thanks if it helps. :good:
How can I make TWRP mount the data partition?
And has anyone figured out google assistant?

Do you have the stock kernel from the Chinese version firmware?
I was able to get google assistant working using the Korean version firmware, but it doesn't allow for exposed because the kernel has the security patches up to May 2017
My ROM based on Chinese Firmware only. Please find kernel https://mega.nz/#!zMIlkABB!PaVLQynV9R4MnyBxgB8d05ymq7pf1HD-AAE-xdj4TsQ
Can you please share Korean Firmware Download URL ? May come-up with a ROM with that.

I don't see a link for just the kernel. I can upload the Korean firmware to google drive.
Upload error . Updated that post with Mega URL.
Wait a few minutes, I will have the Korean G160N firmware on Google Drive.
Not sure if dual sim will work, flash at your own risk.
Hi,
Hopefully someone sees this. I have a galaxy s2 t989 and I installed cm13 the other day. It doesn't come with gapps obviously, so I put the version recommended on the forums, and it said "Error code 20" "This version of gapps is for version 6.x.x and you are on 4.3". CM13 is android 6.0.1, so I don't really understand. I've installed the kitkat CM previously, and had it on there for multiple years, but I formatted and reset everything in the phone. Anything that is able to be formatted in CWM I did, and it still didn't work. I then tried to manually install the APK for google play services along with the play store, and it just keeps spamming "Unfortunately, google play services has stopped". I can't seem to figure out how to change the version of the rom in CWM to be my current version. Can anyone help please?
Recommend..
1. Flash back to factory OEM Samsung T989 Android 4.1.2 rom..
2. Flash TWRP Recovery
3. Backup device to Micro SD
4. Did I mention Backup device to Micro SD?
If you wish to try a custom ROM.. always use a matching version of Open GAPPs.. so if its an Android 6 rom.. use Android 6 GAPP... also.. for this old T989 device.. use the NANO GAPP.. and install only what you need from the play store afterwards. Good threads to read over for this device are:
