Network drop Oneplus 2 - LineageOS Questions & Answers

Hi Friends,
I installed feb 14th version of Lineage in my Oneplus 2 device, I am facing frequent network drops.
I am from India and using jio network which is supporting through only VoLTE , and because of this network I am facing frequent network drops as stock OS version 3.5.5. I saw know that lineage using latest modems from OOS but still I am facing network drops. Please consider this as a humble request and fix this issue so that I can continue using Lineage OS.

[Q] Android IRC issue..

I get "Error: Closing link: m790e36d0.tmodns.net (SASL access only)" in Android IRC connecting to irc.freenode. Anyone else have this issue? Or know what to do to fix it?
It all of a sudden started doing it yesterday, and I have been using it just fine on the same server for weeks.
I'm experiencing the same issue. It was working fine before.
Good, I'm glad I'm not alone here.
Did you recently overclock your g2 and then started having this problem? That was the last thing I did, and it's not related to the Android IRC app itself. I tried multiple IRC clients and get the same error.
I think this might be something tmobile changed but I'm not sure. I really would like to know if someone can get into freenode using their g2 without going thru wifi.

Actually I didn't do anything. I'm running stock. I was rooted before but had lag issues so I went back to stock.
This is something freenode changed. They no longer permit unauthenticated connections from t-mobile users due to spam and abuse. I'm trying to find an android client that supports SASL, but I'm not sure if one exists. Unless you can find one, all you can really do is wait and hope they rescind the ban.
Thanks for that bit of information. I guess I will assume you are correct, but I will ask some operators on freenode when I get home tonight. I have also relayed the info to the developer of android IRC to see if there are any plans on implementing SASL into the client.
Be nice for an update on this.
Edit: OK, since the freenode guys are nazis and enabled some sort of encryption requirement for tmodns.net connections (ie: on our phones, or tethering them), I managed to find this: http://forum.swiftirc.net/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=23101 but i'll be damned if I can find the sasl.dll ANYWHERE on the net.
I can't compile things, so maybe the code in that topic could help somebody get a sasl.dll for those of us who tether and use mIRC on the PC.
Guessing there's no news on this? kinda sucky to find out I can't use yaaic to check up on #G2root anymore.
AndroIRC works perfectly fine for me..
AndroIRC with tmodns still not working for me, can't find an irc client that supports sasl but if you can do something with sasl.dll it might be at freenode.net/sasl/
specifically, it's tmobile's lack of an [email protected] email for freenode to report abuse as the primary reason given in #freenode for the block...so how to get tmobile to add and respond to abuse, good luck
we need sasl on a client
I'm the developer of AndChat and have been working on SASL support for a few days. I managed to get it working so if anyone wants to try it out, pm me and I'll send it to you.
Note that it's probably has bugs in the implementation. But if you are happy to try it, pm me.
If you do want to try it and have problems, better to post at http://groups.google.com/group/andchat rather than on xda.
I'm currently using the beta you posted at that link and it's working perfect for me.

my school network is a wpa sk2 . there's no actual password for the network we have to log in with our school accounts , through the settings menu not the browser.
when i log in it just says connecting .ive tried with other accounts but i still get the same issue . i also had the same problem on my old huawie ideos running an older cyanogenmod.
if you are sure that your school's router is working good, and you are not blocked (MAC address block)
you should update you ROM to the latest one found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1786696
and then report the issue there if the update didn't fix the issue
they might ask you to provide a log
mkay thanks , ill have to check tomorrow
most likely it is a router problem, not the phone or firmware.

[Q] (Q)UDP Flooding, packet sending, etc

Hello,
I'm using anflood and net swiss tools to spam udp packets to my network, but they never actually reach the network. I do not see them in the logs of my router, nor the "warnings" that it gives when under attack. I am using CM 11 on a sgh i747m (canadian) and im wondering if its a firmware/hardware issue. Because it runs just fine on my lg o3d (older model) which is strange. because i thought it was the router security but turns out the phone is not sending any packets whatsoever.
i found a similar thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=721066 but it was never answered

Tethering & Portable Hotspot

I don't know if this is already been asked but anyway, I just got my Oneplus 3 recently and I'm loving every minute of my use but there is one problem which is bugging me the whole day.... I am not able to share my mobile carriers internet via USB Tethering or Portable Hotspot to another android device or PC.
WiFi is connected but not internet access. Is this something to do with Android 6.0 Marshmallow update or how do I enable Internet access to other devices? please guide me..... Thanks!
Android version - 6.0.1
OxygenOS version - 3.2.7
PC - Windows Pro 64-bit operating system.

You never said that, so don't give me attitude for trying to help. Now you're on your own. Peace.
I actually had the same issue. I can tether and have a working connection for maybe 30 seconds and then there's no longer internet access. It has worked in the past (at least in August) before the last two updates. Currently on T-Mobile.

I am using oneplus 3 on T-mobile and get the same problem. after I configured my hotspot wifi on OP3, the other device can connect to it. but it would not get the internet access. I was on the bleeding edge 3.2.7 version of Oxygen OS. after talked to the tek support of oneplus, their level 2
guy resinstalled 3.2.1 oxygen OS on my device. after that, hotspot wifi works pretty well. so that was a software issue. I am not sure the patch between 3.2.1 to 3.2.7 has a bug on hotspot or the OTA update cause the issue. but anyway, it is working now.
Can anyone else confirm this is Oxygen OS 3.2.7 bug please??? i need to make sure before I downgrade back to 3.2.1.

It won't even let me click the tethering button. I'm pissed. I depend on that a lot. Has anyone found a fix. I restored my efs thinking it would help but no luck. I am going to try to fastboot flash the modem tonight it's got to be the issue

Before you mess around with your efs partition i suggest just trying a custom rom . freedom if you like stock or any of the others if u not into stock...restoring efs is an almost impossible task
Reading this, it occurred to me I had not really tried tethering since I moved from my Nexus 5X to the OP3 a couple months ago. Just set up WiFi tethering and it seems to work perfectly.
- Using WPA2 PSK security
- Tethered device is a MacBook Air
- Carrier is T-Mobile US
- Stock ROM, unrooted, latest Oxygen OS 3.2.8
I use tethering on mine. 3.5.5 beta 7. No issues sharing with multiple devices.
I've been doing this a long time buddy and this is why it's happening to me cause when I'm on either AICP or RR 7.1 nougat it will not allow me to click the tethering button. Also I have my efs backed up to my computer and my phone. I realize there's a lot of newbs on here but I'm far from one of them. Im back on oxygen now on which I've never had any problems with any of the stock functions, ever
Hi! Has anyone managed to get this to work?
I'm having this situation for as long as I have my op3.. Can connect but no internet access.. If other phones serve as hotspot I can connect and have internet with no problems.
Any suggestions?
Stock phone, fully updated.

H93220j Rolling out to TMo V30s

Reads: Provides various bug fixes and system improvements
I'll be visiting LG Bridge after work...
I dont have it :/
Yeah saw this too. I checked LG Bridge a few times yesterday and today and it is not available yet.
Yup, saw this and *tried* to jump on it... guess I try to get it at 0400 every day or so, or wait for someone who managed to get it to upload it somewhere else like last time!
Live now on Bridge
Yup it's live on LG Bridge. I'm updating as I'm writing this. Bridge tells me that the download is 2.83 GB.
The changelog mentions the Google security update and some improvements to ringtone/notification sound/Sound effects.
Update: The update through Bridge worked fine. Took about 10 minutes or so. My phone is now on the June 1, 2018 security patch level (and still Android 8.0.0). Haven't had time yet to look for noticeable changes.
My post from another thread early this morning:
______
T-Mobile is rolling out an updated OREO for V30 starting yesterday (June 27).
T-Mobile announces new LG V30 update
June 27, 2018
https://www.tmonews.com/2018/06/t-mobile-lg-v30-new-update/
One month after T-mobile restarted its Oreo update rollout, a new update has been released.
T-Mobile has announced an update for its LG V30 that bumps the device up to version H93220j. The update is still based on Android 8.0 and includes “various bug fixes and system improvements.”

So, NO it's not 'P" (I know someone is going to ask!) No V30 is going to get P until the Korean carrier variants get P.
It's just an update to make really sure you never get root! "They're getting too close!"
The auto brightness seems less terrible. It's at 27% vs the normal 3% in my morning bedroom.

But this is the full image KDZ, not the partial image OTA that rolled out two weeks ago.
I updated my TMO V30+ when notified, and ever since my phone has had issues waking from the fingerprint reader. Anyone else? I'd been using the original 8.0 release via LG Bridge with absolutely no issues.
Argh!
Mine got the update yesterday. I had the original release of the Oreo that got pulled (from Bridge), but since it had some bugs, I was glad to see this one finally showed up. Hopefully they did work out the issues from before. I would occasionally get the sound of Assistant activating, even if the phone was just sitting on a table in complete silence.
All H932 firmware files can be found at All-in-One OEM Firmware Stop, also if you are having to many issues with Oreo you can revert back to Nougat:silly:, Oreo and Nougat for the H932 are both ARB0, also have the latest LGup and LG Bridge downloads.
BUG ALERT! BUG ALERT! BUG ALERT! Some of you may already know this, there is a serious BUG in this H93220J update, at least for T-Mobile V30 phones, and possibly other carrier models too.
Bug symptoms happens to those who use messaging apps other than the baked-in one and the non-baked-in messaging app is set as the default messaging app. Some, but not all, incoming text messages get misdirected to the baked-in app even when it is not set as the default messaging app. Furthermore, the misdirected text messages can't be deleted and some texts from the past somehow come back to life on the list of messages even if they had been deleted long ago. This is a serious problem for many, including our office which has eight of these phones, all having this issue. By the way, Factory Reset does not resolve the issue.
If you use a third party app as your default, you might want to check the baked-in messaging app to see if you are experiencing this bug. If you are experiencing this bug please contact your carrier and report it, as that's the only way it will get addressed.
Thanks for reading!
Running Android messages on mine along with my wife's v30 on T-Mobile and we don't have any problems.
Try installing carrier Services from the play store. It integrates SMS at least with Android messages.
H93220k is ready for pull. Check your updates.
