One of the worst smartphones . It doesn't worth its money . I used have other chinese smartphones at a price of 100e and they proved to be much better . Untortunately , i didnt expect that kind of amateur work about their software . I downloaded 3 OTA (ROOT NO ROOT OLD AND NEW )everything . with even worse and worse result . Im sure it is not lollipop problem , because other companies support lollipop with better quality . A great amount of asus customers have to many compaints about this product. You can tell , by looking at their official forum . The Asus company gives no solutions. in the official forum , they posted that whoever makes any complaints , they will ban hims out of the forum, with excuse of propaganda. +I have tried every solutions in forums , once week install ota and every single day reset factory. All these are enough for me!!!!! asus must consider its costumers not just as money or testees on their products , but they should be more respectful. I ve wasted 300+ euro for a piece of garbage and i feel disappointed and fooled .
Who is going to pay us back , for our 300+ euro ??

I understand ur frustration but can u please tell us which phone model u have as the high end model only supports fast charging... What version do u have and does the flashing of stock rom gives u any problem... Can u provide more info so that we can help u...
Ze551ml. 32gb , 4gb ram . 1.8 ghz .
... and you think that whining on this forum is gonna solve anything?
I'd say send it back and buy another model from another manufacturer. The only thing which is kind of bad (just a little) is the battery draining by "Android System". One can live with it (my phone lasts 2-3 days). But the rest is awesome for this price!

3000 mah battery ????? hahahaha.....full drain battery ( my phone 30% switch off ) My battery lasts at least two days with moderate use. Maybe you got a bad phone?
Dual sim ??? Sim 1 or 2 slot issue everyday What kind of problems? I've never had any SIM issues.
camera ??? Camera Flash gives yellowish outcome Maybe you're just bad at it?
wifi ????? enable all time (tried to close but ramains open ) Change your power management, or turn off "Scanning always available" in Advanced Wi-Fi settings
asus cover ??? always crashed That's new. I use mine all day, every day. Maybe check for update? Wipe cache/data in apps for Cover View?
charging ??? veryyyyyyyyyyyyy slow If you have the fast charger (which I imagine you don't), it's one of the fastest charging devices out there. If you're getting a slow charge, I guarantee it's your charger.

Dear Skritlaki87,
Recommend using ASUS ZenUI app called ASUS Support. There are several helpful tips regarding basic troubleshooting techniques for your device including camera troubleshooting, battery troubleshooting, app crashing, how to optimize memory and system performance, and many more.
Another note to help improve battery life, please ensure to turn off 'Wifi Scanning always available.' To do this go to Apps/Settings/WiFi Settings/Advance Settings(menu in upper right corner)/Scanning always available/ turn Off.
Also what model did you purchase? Please note only 2.3GHz plus 4G ram (ZE551ML)" is bundled with 18W adapter, while other spec bundled with 7W adapter and will require longer charge. Please see http://www.asus.com/us/support/Sear...5-480F-AADA-FE49EDD81C01/?keyword=boostmaster

In Germany we say that some devices which are not functioning properly were produced on a Monday (Montagsgerät)
Jokes aside: Maybe you should send in the phone to the manufacturer as you got warranty on the device. The yellowish photos, the SIM issues, the crashing apps, etc.
Maybe your device is just defective on hardware side
I feel I have t agree with Skritlaki87
I've had the above phone fr 5 weeks
everything was fine after I installed the latest firmwares [last 2 May and June]
- network drops: especially when idle or after using wifi: calls get straight to answering machine and no notification; SMS I get them 3-4 hours later or longer
- phone wont even see external SD card. took it out and in but no joy; tried different ones they worked before and they work in my shield tablet [lollipop and ubuntu]; I also noticed in apps that 'external storage' has 0 kb and is greyed out meaning I cant clear cache or disable/ force stop
- can't get it to vibrate: again was fine before upgrades
- I did:, wiped cache after FW upgrades and updated all zen apps and everything else. I have a micro SIM [not cut one]. Yes I did a hard reset as well
- phone sometimes dies in network and people call me and it goes straight t answering machine; most times I don’t get any notifications [SMS] or I get them after 3-4 [many network drops]
I posted these problems in zentalk forums many times but never acknowledged by asus and only tip was to do a wipe cache
useless and appalling support , absolutely not fair; will never buy asus ever again
any ideas please? [oh, I'm on 3 network, bought phone from Italy]
Can't get t use this phone as a phone and losing business

Did you flash a whole firmware update or just the ones provided by the Software update app? I'd at least try this as a last resort:
Download the latest ASUS Firmware (not an update, that's the whole pack, also make sure you have ZE551ML model): http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/Ze...ser.zip?_ga=1.211888660.1601724807.1432814508
It's not the latest firmware, but I'm running on this one, too and everything is really fine.
Place the file on the root of your internal storage, then reboot just normally. When the Android System started it asks you if you want to flash the file which is located on your internal storage. Of course click yes and see if it works.
IMPORTANT: I noticed, that you need to remove the USB cable from the phone before starting the flashing procedure, otherwise it fails in flashing. Also the flashing take a good amount of time (about 15mins). If it doesn't show an error, just let it work.
Please report back, I'm curious if this fixed your issue

Thanks for that link but I upgraded the firmware this morning to WW 2.17.40.7 and on that link or any other country link there's 2.17.40.6 and ASUS states it's not possible to downgrade so I guess I must wait
I'm gonna chime in here. Out of the many tablets and phones I've had over the years, I'm gonna say this ASUS minus a few quirks. Is awesome for the price. No phone is perfect, and never will be. I've had 3 updates since owning this phone. At least ASUS is working on trying to fix bugs and improve this phone vs other manufacturers that just abandon after one little update. If your unhappy return your phone and buy something with diff problems. Cause the people who gripe all the time will find something wrong with anything.

I'm planning to upgrade to the LG G4 from the G2, because I have enjoyed the G2 mostly, other than the fact that it went into boot loops and the wifi stopped working.. but I have a few questions.
1) If the speakers are on the back, can you hear properly when you're holding something, doesn't your hand cover it? And even if you're holding it horizontally to watch a video or something, is the sound quailty bad?
2) I heard that LG officially announced that they released phones that have boot loop problems. So after a year when my warranty runs out, and the boot loop starts, will they still fix it?
3) How is the quality of the Android 6.0? I live in Canada using TELUS.
4) Also when the LG G5 comes out in a week, will the price drop?
I would really appreciate if someone would answer these questions. Thanks!

Hi- Almost a week ago, even I upgraded my phone from G2 to G4. So far the experience is really awesome. Please find my answers below. Note: I am not a phone expert and I am putting across my views as a normal person would be able to explain.
1) The shape of the LG G4 is in such a way that the back speaker will not lie flat on its face at any time. So whenever the phone rings it will loud enough. Also when playing games I don't think the speaker will be covered with anyone hand. Again the positioning of the G4 comes into picture. I have installed couple of games and I have not found any issues.
2) Yes. that is correct. LG also accepted the fact about the boot load issues. This issues were primarily found on phones that were released before May or June and the motherboard was replaced free of cost by the Service Center. The one that I bought has the manufactured date as of December 2015 and so far not even once I faced any boot load issue. Probably you can check the manufactured date.
3) I have no clue about Android 6 as I live in India and I am still waiting for the update.
4) Regarding the price factor, I doubt you'll see a drastic cut in the price once the G5 is released.
I need not tell the good things about the phone cause you might have already learnt about it. But yes, it now supports quick charge.
Thanks!
Now can someone who has used android 6.0?? per chance??
I have had the phone for 3 weeks soon, and it has two serious problems: keyboard is laggy, meaning that when you write fast, it won't recognize all the presses. There supposedly is an update for the LG keyboard regarding that issue, however I don't have any updates available for the keyboard so I think I already have it, but it is still very laggy. Which leads to a conclusion that the issue is either throttling down the CPU or then it's a digitizer issue not being sensitive enough. Note that unlike Samsung phones, LG doesn't have an option to change the sensitivity of the screen. But as I write now, the lag issue appears when typing and it freezes the keyboard for about 0,5 secs and also the screen too, so it would indicate either a software bug or CPU being throttles or who knows what. Either way, I hate that one of the most recent LG flagships have a problem of this kind... Regarding warranty, I contacted LG Finland and they just replied that most likely it has no problem, even though I've never had any issues like these on my earlier Samsung phones...
Also, Knock code doesn't always wake up the device, neither does double tapping the screen, which most likely goes back to either CPU, software or digitizer issues. Hate it when I should be able to wake my phone when I'm having the phone in my car holder and it won't wake up because of these issues with the device. I do have the 6.0 update available but haven't had the time to install it yet, also i've heard that as it handles something differently compared to Lollipop, some apps might not work and so on... Which is turning my willingness to update down a bit.
The phone has potential, and it's a shame that because of these issues, I might go back to Samsung soon.

Thanks for you opinion!
i disagree with heartagramm.
when I bought the phone (2 weeks ago) it came with the 10a firmware (the first one, i think) and it was super smooth, no lag issues, everything it's awesome!
The bootloop issue its present on the 505 devices, (the first releases, manufactered in may)
Once upon a time, about 8 months ago, there was the little newbie me,I that old E975(lgg) and decided he should get a new phone with all those "G4's" "S6's" etc,I wanted a phone with killer specs, and the best camera out there,so I decided to go with the g4,looked up prices online on his country. Pretty damn high,so i found that one shop that sold it for like 100$ less,no official warranty, unofficial warranty for 1 year, that seems fair,I bought it,the biggest mistake i ever made, the phone was so good,it worked like a charm, and god damn that camera was awesome, about 4 months ago i was sending a whatsapp when it just got stuck on that screen,m'kay i tried restarting, won't work, removed the battery and inserted an other one, boot to lg logo and then shut down, alright, i still got warranty. time to use it,went to the store, they said "we can't fix it",worst customer support EVER,ever since that I've been using that ****ty replacement phone, ewo,so today i was really bored and decided to look up the problem and noticed my s/n begins with "505" looked it up,apparently all the g4's with that s/n got stuck eventually, and the store knows that and since my warranty is unofficial I can't do ****,or can I? is there any way to get out of this with a functioning phone?help?

Mine died yesterday. It's a hardware fault apparently and can't be fixed. You can, however, disable big cores and recover your data, but your phone will be really slow.
Here's the link:

whattt
i was just about to cook the phone and teared it apart,i saw the whole oven thing and i thought to myself "Why the hell not" and well it should work...if it will stay the same i'll use your tutorial and probably use the really slow G4 instead of my current 2012 Huawei

Phone doesn't work really slow, if you know what to do. My phone is working since I disabled the big cores what is about 2 weeks now, I'm even on a custom ROM. All you need to do is to root it and using 'Device Control Manager' (Kernel Adiutor doesn't work for me) change the frequency what will enable all 4 cores and with 4 there is no big difference in the performance really. I feel like it's more Qualcomms fail than LG's, cuz look G4 was first phone with Snapdragon 808 wasn't it? What if the first processors they made they sent to LG as they are all now in s/n's 505-509 and what if these are faulty? It actually would make sense, with 6 cores my phone didn't even turn on, with 4 it works as normal, it means there is 'something' wrong with the two faster cores..
It's LG's fault. They have admitted such. It's a faulty connection/motherboard.
UPDATE
i've baked the phone,it works for now,how can i make sure that it'll keep working?
Replace the motherboard.
but they don't sell them on my country, and it'll cost like 400$ with shipping, and nobody replaces mobo's here,so is there any way to make this one keep working?

I'm sorry, but unfortunately you dug your own grave with that one. You may have saved yourself $100, but caused yourself major issues in the long run sacrificing that warranty.
Honestly, there is apparently no way to ensure it'll keep working. A lot of users have reported their phone dying again after LG has fixed it. A motherboard replacement is the second best option with the first being a phone other than the G4.
So now that Oreo has been out for some time and there is still no fix insight for BT issues on nearly half of productions cars today. As a consumer, what can one do? I mean my phone is basically a paper weight inside a car, its against the law to use it without BT, and it basically creates a hazard situation when it randomly stops working while driving. In a few weeks I am headed to a trip where I'll be driving for many hours daily for over 1 week. I obviously need a functional BT since I use it for directions and calls.
I understand bugs happen, but as far as I know this bug is 4 month old since first release of DP......knowing Goggles attitude not giving a fck, this could last months as it did on 7.1
Isnt this reasonable, if device is under warranty manufacture must either replace it or provide a full refund? Thats how it worked with every since piece of electronics I have ever returned under warranty
i expect there will be a few replies here with the various other threads already on this subject but i will say that my Oreo and my Ram truck with Uconnect has only one issue and that is the song information for things like Pandora dont update and generally stay on the initial song played.
other that issue i make and receive calls and text via the stereo with no issues. maybe its varies with other car makers product but with Uconnect it works as expected.
i also assume you have tried having both products for the device and re-pair?

No issues here currently
Metadata does not update is one of my issues too. I noticed that there are many random issues. Sometimes it works 100%, other times it doesn't connect at all or disconnects while driving
Most modern cars have problems. I know it doesn't work on all BMWs , then I saw many repotting the same on Audis, VWs, Hondas, and Toyotas. All reported cars are like 2013-1014 and up

Major hardware issue with Google Pixel...stop wasting time resetting phone.
Hi,
Google Pixel phone has serious Bluetooth incompatibility issue and the company keeps saying as long as it can connect to at least one device it is not their problem. After six months of struggling of factory resets and replacement under warranty the support team did acknowledge to me that it is a major hardware problem that it cannot communicate with other devices, especially car audio system. Nothing can be done whatsoever to fix the matter.
As part of industry standard it is common practice for Bluetooth connection to not have an issue, especially for a smartphone costing $700 plus. As a standard operating procedure, a hardware compatibility problem should have been checked before selling such defective phones. I wonder what is it that they check as part of quality assurance from Google brand.
I had been using three generations of iPhones before, a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge with my 2013 BMW 528i before switching this poorly made device. Often times, rather each time I reached out to the Project Fi support, every team member asked me to go get the car upgraded. I have had my car inspected under the four year free warranty, however now it would cost me hundreds of dollars to get another diagnosis. I recently tested iPhone 6 with iOS 11 and also iPhone 7 from a friend. This same friend told me that cars are specifically made to be compatible with iPhones on purpose or the car OS is tested for iPhones alone. That does not sound logical to me, since my car is four years old and the other newer phones can talk to it without a flaw.
It shows clearly that Google is not interested in the phone business when there are so many users complaining about one of this fundamental features of what is expected from an advanced smartphone.
I request your help in getting this word out so users stop buying a substandard device based on brand name.

Anyone thinking about buying a device from Oneplus really needs to be aware!
I had a repair not completed 3 times returning the device unfixed, and on returning for 4th time for a replacement was told it would take 48 hours for inspection, it took nearly 2 weeks... Today they agreed to replace my phone, but said they (suspiciously) were out of stock, even tho i can purchase the same model on the site! OnePlus solution was that i should buy another device and go thru RMA and they will refund me! I declined this offer as i don't have a spare grand sitting around but also do not trust them to do as they say... Asking when they would have more stock the answer was a simple "we don't know"!
They have my money they have my phone, they say i cannot have a full or even a partial refund and they cannot provide a replacement! I'm staggered a company will treat customers this way!
They did this to me too, I spent £280 and SIX WEEKS trying to get OnePlus to just fix my phone right, they replaced my screen but broke the fingerprint scanner and the ringer switch which would then do the exact opposite of the position it was in. The phone kept coming back unfixed with a "no fault found" note and eventually I had to write a note in the box telling them what's wrong with the phone and how to fix it...
Beyond appalled with OnePlus' service, and its a shame because 2 years ago their service was amazing. My OP7 Pro had burn in and they had my phone fixed and returned to me in 6 days flat. It seems since OnePlus began embracing their BBK roots more recently their service has decided to tank stupidly with it.
I'm quite unhappy with my 9 Pro and similarly quite fed up with OP as a whole... the Pixel 6 Pro looks good though!
Edit: My 9 Pro has a power button that double presses when I press it once, and at this rate I'll probably just get the new Pixel and then repair/sell this after
