Samsung S5 & Lineage 14.1 - Bluetooth Issue - LineageOS Questions & Answers

Hello,
I upgraded to Lineage recently, but cannot get Bluetooth to pair with my car. It finds the car's Bluetooth headset, but when I try to connect nothing happens.
It worked fine on CM 13. Is this a known problem? Anyone who can point me in the right direction?
Thank you.

Please disregard this post. I had to remove my previous Bluetooth connection from my car's entertainment system and now it just connects fine. User error.

The usual id-10-T error

Does id-10-T error stand for stupid user error? Lol.

Ahahha, you got it. ID10T

Haha... Thank you. You're right on the money.

Same sm-a300f

I added one of my BT speakers with no issue, but then I found that had to restart my S5 before it would detect my BT headset and another speaker.

Galaxy s3 not finding car Bluetooth

I just got my gs3 from Rogers, and the phone works great but for some reason it does not find/detect my car's inbuilt Bluetooth system. My gs2 worked with no issues but my gs3 does not find the device when scanning . The Bluetooth worked when connecting to friends iPhone but not with my car. Anyone know what might be the cause?
My car is a 2011 BMW X6.

I have this problem too, ford focus with sync. It will detect it when I first pair the devices, but then it won't connect again after the connection has been disconnected. I have to forget the bluetooth connection and re-pair the phone with my car bluetooth to get it to work. Mine too is the Rogers version of the S3.

I have the same problem supposed to search for cars bluetooth but gs3 wont find it at all I really hope theres a fix for this bc i love this phone but this is a deal breaker
found the solution! phones blue tooth needs to be turned on before starting the car. finds and pairs no problem. if I start the car first and then start the phone it doesnt work.
start the phones Bluetooth before starting the car. let me know if it works for you!!

I can pair the phone once this way, but afterwards it will never connect again. Have to forget the connection and start again.

Try turning off your bluetooth and then turning it back on before you start the car.
Mine had the same issue (JVC stereo, Telus SGS3) until I hit the "initialize" option in the stereo. After re-pairing the phone it's worked great for 4 days.

I noticed that my Bluetooth issues went away with the latest AT&T OTA update from last week. I understand yours was on Rogers, but assuming you'll eventually (if you don't already) have access to the same update.
Bluettoth Issue on all stock TW based ROMs
What I have noticed is that I have had this issue on all Sammy based ROMS. Had no issues on the AOKP ROMS. On the Sammy ICS ROms the phone pairs but keeps switching between call audio and media audio in bluetooth. It sticks at call audio once you manually chose call audio and disconnect media audio in Bluetooth once it has paired.
I agree with you. I issues have gone after LG1 OTA update. Thanks

Stock S3 BT issues only with PIONEER headunit...

As the title says, I am having issues getting connection. I have unpaired it, started completely over and still the only way I can Get it to play is physically going into Bluetooth and then click media to check mark. Sometimes have to do this 3-4 times before it clicks on.
I just started having these issues with it. Not sure if it is my deck or phone. It used to auto connect and play flawlessly for months. It still auto connects fine with phone calls, just the media portion is messing up.
Anyone else have any issues like this?
Deck is a Pioneer 9400HDBT.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I have the same issue at times on my pioneer head unit...some ROMs work better then others ...running xperiaZ from jovy and I get connected pretty consitently . I have a feeling its the head unit more then the ROMs though...there's times where my phone says I'm paired but the head unit still flashing the Bluetooth icon. Think I have the 3400bh but I'm not in my car ATM to verify
Edit: 3400 ..phone connects fast for the most part but music tends to be iffy. Dont think its rom related at all.

I used to work at sprint and the s3 has blue tooth known issues. I assume it would be the same being the blue tooth hardware is essentially the same. I always told people to root their phones and load a custom stable rom and it fixes the problem of those few that did. Sorry I couldn't help much

Supposely when we get an update its suppose to fix and better Bluetooth connection.

(Q) Bluetooth Won't Connect

Every time I try to pair my bluetooth it tells me I've put in an incorrect pin, but didn't ask me for a pin. I don't know how to insert the pin before getting the error. It just a cheapo bt headset and it worked fine on cleanrom before I updated to 4.8.
Any ideas?

Bluetooth Fix

Hello folks.
I'm running the latest AOKP (4.2.2) and I'm having Bluetooth connection problems with my car. It pairs OK, but when I try to make a call, Bluetooth shuts down on the S3. I know that there are generic problems with Bluetooth, but it seems that other people on the forum can connect.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Might just be a software issue. Try reflashing your rom and seeing if that helps. And if not, try flashing stock rom to see if it's a hardware issue or not.

Bluetooth behaving funny on MM stock

Is anyone else noticing funny Bluetooth behavior post update (stock phone)? Specifically, my phone is occasionally disconnecting and then a minute later reconnecting to my speakerphone unit in my car. (Jabra)
I'm in the car at the time to be clear. I don't know if being on a call matters. It hasn't happened during a call yet, but I'm not on the phone much.

Try deleting and re-pairing the BT.

Well, I thought that would be the end of this issue, but after a few days it came back.

Jabra firmware updatable?
Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
That's a thought, I'll check. It's happening in my Jambox as well and the only change is the phone.

Mines done this in my civc since I got it a yr ago

The only issue I've had predates the marshmallow update, and that's Google Maps directions causing the Bluetooth to disconnect from my car. It's quite annoying when I'm driving for directions and the sound suddenly switches to my phone speakers
I think I may have narrowed it down to the Tile app which has an automatic BT restart option if it has trouble locating your device. I turned it off and I think the problem is gone.
