I bought a Mr. Shield (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N8VDMIR) 2 pack 12/29/16.
I had the rainbow. I knew it was going to happen, but it was the one that looked the best to me.
I cracked the first one on the edges after a couple short drops from my bed to my metal power strip on the side of the bed.
I decided to see if hand sanitizer would work on the second one, and it did.
Why sanitizer? It's clear, and it's thicker than water, so there is less chance of it flowing into your internal components, more time to place the protector, and less chance of bubbles.
I am not a screen protector placement expert. I do feel that this is a moderate to difficult task due to patience, trying not to touch things wrong, patience, and patience. Patience.
Do this at your own risk. Read everything before proceeding.
1) Turn off your phone.
2) Clean your phone.
3) Clean your hands!
4) Get a bunch of paper towels.
5) Squirt a lot (three long lines or five short ones or a zig-zag) of sanitizer on the phone.
6) Take the film off the protector and handle it by the edges. If your protector doesn't have the tape for the front, I suggest not using it in this case.
7) Place the protector (SUPER) gently, squeeze out the air bubbles (SUPER) gently, and immediately clean up any sanitizer that comes out.
8) Position the protector correctly, but take your time, because you don't want to squeeze enough sanitizer out to get air bubbles. Position, wipe, position, wipe.
9) Wait. SERIOUSLY, wait. How long? To be safe, I'd say at least an hour. Don't attempt to clean the top of the protector at all during this time.
10) Clean the top. It will be dirty. It will take a while. Be gentle and take your time.
11) If you end up with edge bubbles after everything is set, you might as well just leave them there. Trying to squeeze them out at this point will introduce more air under the protector.

The siding on the left portion of my phone is not flush with the keyboard portion. I can always feel the "lip" or whatever you want to call it. This is a Tmobile TP2
Its annoying that phone isn't fully flush with itself.
Does any one else experience this?

I'm using a Telus TP2, but I can say that I haven't had any issues in regards to this.
yeaaa i have the same problem.
its as if the phone is crooked towards the left on the bottom half. if you slide your fingers together down the sides you feel the phone screen move in right as if it was not aligned correctly
Same problem here MPD suggested I go direct to HTC regarding this, as it was outside the 1 week direct swap window.
Apparently HTC have a 72 hour turnaround in the UK
Same issue here with both mine and my fiance's T-Mobile TP2, so I just assumed that's how they were. :\
glad to know i'm not alone & not just on Tmobile
wow i never even noticed this. Just another problem to add to the list.....how wonderful. I just posted my review of this phone before reading this thread and looking at my phone.
Aligning the two sections
I've found the same problem. Placing a small ruber patch at the end of the rail slots in the screen piece left my phone completely aligned.
Instructions:
Get some adhesive rubber piece that's about as thick as the misalignment in your phone. In my case, it was just one mm, and I found such a rubber piece as the filling between optional rubber "feet" that came with one router I had. I guess the chances of you having the same thing are dim, but the point is that this type of material shouldn't be difficult to find, just look around. Any hard rubber film with one adhesive side and the appropriate thickness should do.
Cut two pieces that are 1mmx1mm, and place them (tweezers will help in getting this done) right at the edge of the rails at the bottom of the screen piece. When viewed from below this should be at the left side of the bottom of the screen, right at the edge of the screen piece.
Close the keyboard to get the pieces stuck in place.
My phone is flush now.
cool I'll have to try that
Thanks for the tip, herbys. I had to do something similar on my Nokia N95 to fix the wobble in the slider.
I've had three T-Mobile TP2s so far and the lip is most noticeable on my third and current unit. My co-worker has one and his sits perfectly flush. I imagine it's just a small fluke on the assembly line, but I wonder how widespread the issue really is.
So I think my stylus put 3 vertical scratches down the screen of my nearly brand new Touch Pro 2. It wouldn't be a big deal but they're really annoying because i can see them when the screen is on. Anyway, this is the top option right now unless you guys know of anything else that could work
Displex: wirelessground.com/saguaki.html
Also I see a lot about toothpaste, but theres about 3 billion kinds and I'm pretty sure I'd pick the one that would just mess it up more.
Thanks!
i've used displex before. make sure u apply very little and wipe gently.
its basically like a sand paper jelly that, if you keep rubbing more and more, will eat away your screen.
just use very little and you'll be fine.
as an alternative, buy a screenprotector (i would recommend brando) and put it on the display.
the scratches will mostly "vanish" behind the protector and the display is protected against further scratches.
An extreme case would be to buy a new digitizer (~$30)
and assemble it.

that site states that it is "Not for use with touch screen displays." I have an HTC Wizard that i want to send to HTC for the rebate program but the LCD is heavily marked up from using the device without a screen protector.
I just installed a InvsiShield full body protector on my tilt 2 the other day after it got a couple small scratches, with the protector on, you can't notice the scratches.
Overall. Quality of this product is superb and installation was so easy.
Did it all in about 15 mins + finishing it off with a hair dryer on low heat and 6" away from phone while off to cure the phantom skinz.

They are kinda small. Gotta stretch it a bit when you put it on, and then use hair dryer to make it even better. There is a video instruction on the website. Just followed every step and turned out great.
This is pure sex in my eyes!!!!

The camera I took the pic with is kind of crappy as it isn't as detailed. Pictures don't do the justice. Looks way better in person.
It is also texturized. Not just an image print.
That looks very sweet! May have to look into getting something like this for my cappy! Nice work on the install
if you are in the carbon fiber mood, there is a site that specializes in the 3M film (now in 7 colors!)

I had this same skin for a while.
It actually adds some grip to the otherwise slippery Captivate.
Also gives a small amount of protection.
Initially it is a lint magnet until the adhesive at the edges wears out. But then it looks really good.
For me it only had two downsides:
1. Eventually, it started to lift at a couple of spots.
2. Can't be transferred to another device (like a case can) if you need to replace your phone for some reason.
On the back of the phone, towards the bottom of the back there are these marks/scratches that are popping up.
As you move your finger over them, you can feel the texture changes.
Why would these appear if I baby my phone, and have had a case on it from day 1.
It isn't making sense.
I tried to see if I could remove it with a cleaner, but no avail.
What are your thoughts?

I have seen these. Even with a case, you get dust(dirt particles) under the case. As you use the phone normally it does move a small amount in the case and that will scratch the back a little. At least this is what I think is happening as its happened with every phone Ive owned thats been cased.
Yes mine has it..... No case... But my last phone (xperia arc) went through more abuse and has no scratches. I don't have a clue what it is about that general area.

Got these as well. Exact same location. I guess the plastic backing finish is real easy to scratch up. Sucks but at least it is minimal.
I got them too, but at least I can just buy a new back or something.
I have tons of scratches on the back of mine. I set it in the cup holder when I listen to Pandora in the car. Recently these red marks have shown up... they won't rub off and I'm thinking its the color underneath the paint.

You don't have to take the clear protectors off the camera and flash but I like to. Plus I thought maybe it was causing a glare even though it has a hole.
It's not easy getting off especially the flash one. I did it carefully because I didn't want to scratch them. Samsung should have put tabs on them so it would be easy to take off.

I used my index finger nail not much of one and just moved up from the button of the flash. Just a little at a time. Once you see it move or come up some then you can use your index finger and thumb to peel it off. Maybe a girls longer nails would work better. Hehe. Just be careful and go slow. Oh boy that sounds bad. LoL
You could have a rep at your carrier try to get it off. Then if they mess it up you can blame them. I would think as long as you don't take a screw driver you should be ok. LoL

Use scotch tape. Cut a small piece and carefully stick it onto the film edge avoiding the cut outs for the lens and flash, then pull up slowly to lift off the film. You can get the whole film off or at the very least a small portion enough to take out the entire film.
i got it off finally lol i had to keep picking at it, eventually got my fingernail under there
