Unbrick Nexus 5x Using QFIL or QPST - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Cross-post from Nexus 6P forum.
The Qualcomm Tools (similar to Xiaomi tools or LG flash tools), has the capability to unbrick from any condition (QHUSB_BULK, Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008, Emergency Download Mode, etc), except physical damage like fried eMMC, or bad motherboard. What's missing now for Nexus 5x is that there's no .mbn or .kdz factory images for it. Now there might be a way to create that out of a working phone, or from what's available from Google's Factory Images repo.
Once we figure this out, it can help many out there who's stuck with a bricked phone.
thread from 6P forum

I'm looking forward for this, maybe this method could help fix my bricked 5X after moving to Nougat.

Very interested as well!
Looking forward as well, I see my superbricked 5X as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008, cannot even go into recovery mode. There are no images to use with QFIL, I've searched everywhere .

same here.

But it's a sign that is not totally bricked.... Xiaomi Redmi note 3 pro for example, I tried to fix the state of Qcomm 900E .... And trying to move to state QDLoader 9008 ... And then I could flashed the ROM that came from manufacturer. Visiting to service center I think is more easier if you don't find any solution FY .

The problem is, there is no flashable QFIL/QPST for LG Nexus 5X. Someone must create and share it.

At this moment no. If someone who use the H791 16 GB and 32 GB variants please make a dump files (MBN) to flash it with QFil. It will be big step to fix these kind of issues.

LG G Pad v480 (8.0) hardbricked...

Hi guys,
You're my last hope haha.
My new lg g pad 8.0 is totally bricked, like no screen at all, no fastboot nor download mode, only an unknown device in Windows Device Managers saying "QHSUSB_BULK".
I really don't know what to do since it's the first time I encounter that kind of thing.
Thanks for your help/time !!!
EDIT: For those that can help : Qualcomm 9008...
Getting computer to recognize
I'm in a similar predicament with my LG GPad 7.0 V410. No display, no fastboot, no adb, no recovery. I seem to learn about things better when I royally screw them up first, lol. Anyway, I spent hours trying to get my computer to recognize it. Finally as simple as it is, I removed it from my computer, held down the power button for 20 seconds, released it, then plugged it back into the computer while holding down the volume up. Like magic my computer recognized it! I guess it just needed to reboot. It is now recognized in Device Manager as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM2). Now from what I understand this should give a platform to flash it from scratch but so far I'm stumped. I've been playing with qpst lg flash tool etc.. I really don't know what I'm doing at this point. But since its in a Qualcomm state and not an LG state, I reckon you should be looking at ways to interface with the board inside Which is the MSM8226 (same as mine). Hope that helps! I'll keep you posted if I get anywhere. What is challenging for me is the stock LG firmware kdz for V410 is no where to be found.
Fantastic news!! I have finally come up with a solution! My tablet is back up and running!! I've posted a tutorial, it's based on my tablet but again since we share similar hardware should be able to help you as well! You'll just need to locate the appropriate KDZ (stock image). Good Luck let me know if you any questions or if you need help finding your kdz. http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/qd-9008-fix-tested-lg-v410g-pad-7-0-att-t3269057

Oppo Find 7 Bricked

Hello, I have bricked my phone through restoring some IUNI OS, just to try it out and now I cannot fix my phone. I cannot see the screen or anything, I'm not even sure what recovery I have installed as I cannot see it! In device manager, my Oppo Find 7 comes up as "RELINK HS-USB QDLoader 9008" rather than what is mentioned. I don't know what to do, please help me someone?

VS986 Hard Bricked

So my VS986 wont boot, light up or anything. No download mode either. Saw a tutorial on a fancy http://www.droidsavvy.com/unbrick-qualcomm-mobiles/ unbrick method however it didnt work. The only thing I can get is in device manager under Ports - Relink HS-USB QDLoader 9008 Com4. Sadly nothing came up under disk drives. I havent been able to really find anything on fixing it from this bad. Most threads fell off around a month ago with no more replies. Any ideas?
You might want to supply a little more info. How did it end up like this? What were you doing when it happened?

Well I was removing xposed so I could try and get Snapchat to work. That didnt go so well. Decided to flash back to factory. I think I may have selected the wrong kdz file using the LG Flash Tool via CSE Flash, but I cant confirm. ANy other info you would like to know? SOrry for lack of info, first time its happened this bad.
I can't remember will flashing the kdz wipe my rooted system img off my internal sd?

I hard bricked my phone while trying to root. Tried various steps but nothing helped.
Finally I did an RMA. Sent to LG. They loaded 13b and sent it back. The whole process took a week. No charge. They even covered shipping both ways.
If nothing works this is an option.
Why would you need to remove xposed to get snapchat to work? I have xposed with 2 snapchat modules downloaded and snapchat works fine.
I'm in a similar situation.I am using the Droidsavvy giude for the qualcom tool QFIL. I have gotten my phone to get the "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008” MODE.
I need the "Flash.xml file " and the right rom type files to possibly restore my phone. can anyone help?
(nothing else will work I have tried all flash tools and still only the ( 9008 mode will come up)
Such a hard brick *might* happen if you downgrade. Or at least that's what I think happened, because although it's not often, the partition table does get changed every once in a while. And when it does, you can only move forward.

I have lg g4 ls991. mistakenly flashed a lower version firmware thinking it was the latest. the device is now hard bricked. no power, no download mode. luckily, I have extracted the firmware form the phone before bricking. I came across a few post where its possible to fix via sd card direct emmc. You will need to have SystemImage.bin file and win32Disk Image. I need someone to assist me on how to create the SystemImage.bin file. any help will be greatly appreciated!

Im in exactly the same position with exactly the same phone. Just got my phone back from LG repair and they said because it was rooted they wont repair it. Its stuck in boot loop and will only enter download mode for about 2 seconds before it enters boot loop again.
Computer only recognises it as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008
Only message it gives is [330] boot verification fail - cause : MISMATCH_SIG_LEN
I was on CM13 and started to flash a new rom and it got stuck at 5%. After hours I disconnected the battery and this is what im left with.
Please help as every guide for Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 is for different variants
Can anyone help??????
Matt
search for boarddiag 2.99 in g3 subforum, it will help you. Also see links in my signature. I do also have the tool somewhere on my androidfilehost. Also note that you need a tot file(it can be older, yes)

OK bit overwhelmed so much info on this subject but not found a guide I can follow yet. The only one I found has a password on the zip containing the tool. I've emailed the developer and will sit and wait.
Feel like I may not see my G3 again

Wow nice find very good although zappin the motherboard looks well scary. Also after my device has been returned by LG it is not longer recognized by device manager as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 but rather as LGE AndroidNet USB Serial Port (COM 3)
Is this a significant change?
Has it made it easier or harder to fix?
Thanks guys for your help and input
Matt
You don't have to open it, you are already in 9008 mode

So if anybody can help me I will be very graceful. Thanks !
Check this thread out. You may only find temporary relief but the wake lock app may gain more relief, however long that helps. Posts 40 and 45 outline a fix through Samsung that takes about a week.

Yes, but Samsung wants about 70$, so it's now worth of the phone. Still best way is unbrick image made by anybody with n910p. I can find it for n910f/g/w8 but not for sprint version. Anybody with this phone please help.
Or if you know other way how to turn download mode please tell.
