After seeing so many tutorials about root remix OS3.0 on PC, currently I have found not a single thread shows any information about root remix OS3.0 in remix pro tablet! How come! I just download root checker and it shows that it's root access is not properly installed in on this device, so how to root it? Jide only provides me a charger linked cable, but no usb cable available to link this tablet to my PC, which means basically I have to root by using usb datatraveler or root directly in tablet, anyone take this challenge would be really appreciated

Hello Honor 3C owners,
When using Vroot to root my international set of the Honor 3C i encountered a problem that my 3C wasn't getting rooted and that the vroot tool kept on telling me that the root failed, so after a day of searching the net I finally came across an alternative way to root my international set of the 3C using Root Genius.
These are the things you need to do to root using Root Genius:
1. Just connect your phone to your pc using a Micro USB cable.
2. Make sure you have your phone connected as a MTP device you can change this when you connect your phone to your pc, you'll see a notification saying ''touch for other USB options.'' Just select MTP.
3. Make sure you have your phone connected using USB debugging you can turn on USB debugging in settings under developer options, Developer options can be turned on by going to settings then going to About phone and then tapping Build number a few times.
4. After you've done all this you can start up Root Genius and run it, and after it has found your device you can click the root button and it will root. Don't worry if your phone turns off/or restarts that's part of the process.
5. After all of this it will probably say Root completed!
So I am posting this for everyone having problems with rooting their Honor 3C device. By the way if you have questions about installing roms, flashing, unlocking bootloader or rooting you can always ask me!
(And for further things about your Honor 3C you can go to xperia_rebel's post at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2773098.
I found this Root on http://www.Gizbeat.com.
Bought this phone in China - it has all sorts of restriction. I would like to upgrade it with a new rom.
I tried using :
diaggetroot
rootGenius
Rootkit
kingoroot
iroot
running superuser and google playstore:
all have failed - using the latest ( as of 03/2015) updates for the individual attempts.
Anyone successfull?
please share your solution!
For Lenovo 98% success rate is by using VRoot/iRoot PC thro USB cable to device One click root solution.(Google for the apps but you need to enable USB Debugging on phone first)
Kingroot will do it enable your USB debugging and on your internet let it be on 3g then try the kingroot
Also vroot PC version can do the job
Hello guys, as you can see in the title I have a problem with my non-rooted HTC desire 820 running on stock rom (updated to 6.0.1 Marshmallow) , my phone can't seem to recognize my xbox 360 wired controller.
I know that the phone is OTG compatible(I can't attach photos because I'm a new user ), but USB OTG Checker shows that phone is compatible, and the controller as pluged in ,USB Host Diagnostics says(All yes except Rooted API and this -> ): "Kernel Claims support:YES / Device detected: No / Verdict OS,3rd party apps No/NO " . My wireless mouse and keyboard are working when connected(same for the usb stick). Xbox controller works on another Marshamallow android device with the same OTG cable. I updated kernel ,but with no solution , i can't seem to figure it out. If you guys can offer any support , I'll be thankful. I have to mention that I would like to exclude rooting because my warranty can be void.
Hi, you can't do anything without rooting because stock rom doesn't has x360 controller drivers installed and if you want to install it you must have root privileges

I have a P607T currently running Android 5.1.1. I have reset the tablet and installed root checker, and it says that "Root access is not properly operating or granted on this device" and says that KingUser is installed. I had previously used Kingroot to root a previous version of Android, but not sure why it is still installed. I am trying to figure out how to remove KingUser, but there is no icon and it does not show up in the app manager. I tried installing kingroot again and it shows in the app manager as a system app. Kingroot can no longer root my device on Android 5.1.1. I downloaded the 5.1.1 android rom for my device, but when I try to install it tells me that the footer is wrong and that signature verification failed and stops the install and reboots. One additional note, I have never been able to connect the tablet via USB to a pc, it has never shown up as a device or usb drive, so anything that requires me to connect to a pc won't work for me. (It charges fine, via usb and I have changed out the USB connector, but still no pc connection).
If you can follow my ramblings... I am just trying to get my tablet to be able to play movies and video from paid services, but it won't let me since it thinks the device is rooted. So does anybody have any ideas on how I can un-root my non rooted tablet or hide the root from VUDU, Fandango, Amazon, Netflix, etc.?
Have you tried a factory reset?
Yep, first thing I tried. I think kingroot or something wrote it's executable to the part of the system that doesn't get reset/overwritten on a factory reset.
Sorry to hear, try flashing all stock firmware from samsung from samsungs websight, flashing w samsungs flashing software.
Im trying to get TWRP or Magisk installed on this phone so I can install Lineage, but the major stumbling block is that the USB port is broken.
It will only charge from the port. Ive tried looking for a replacement usb board from parts resellers, but have only been able to find ones for different A5 models, or the USB port itself which would require my buying a heatgun.
LSUSB / DMESG never reports anything when its plugged in and every now and then when I charge it the phone displays a "Moisture in USB port" message, despite it having been in a box for several years. I think it was stress on the USB cable that killed it initially.
Ive read that you can use ADB over TCP instead, but this requires root access to run the commands if you cant start off by connecting with a USB cable, so no joy there.
Is it possible to install Magisk via Magisk manager on a non rooted phone?
Looking at threads on the Magisk github page It seems like I need to build a custom ROM using a stock one + some modifications from a python script that Magisk manager can then try to install. Where can I get those ROM's, if this is even possible?

So, Ive found and downloaded the stock firmware for my phone (SM-A520F_1_20200211163854_iyofhdwau9_fac.zip). I let the phone update to the latest official update as I couldn't find a decent mirror for the older version.
Im now trying to follow the instructions for payload_dumper so I can patch payload.bin, but the 2.4 GB file didnt have this inside, only these files that im unable to extract any further.

Can I get the OTA Update zip file from somewhere on the phone?
find -name *.zip hasnt turned up anything obvious.

Try using non-PC root methods like the old KingRoot or something new/similar. :good:

Cheers. Its been an adventure in uninformed badly written web articles and spyware ridden apps installed via APK, but I dont think anything can actually do it to an Oreo device.
Kingo root claims it can, but just crashes when you try to root.
Im going to try and find a new usb board and tool from some where and pull it apart
edit - sadly the usb port is part of the mainboard, so they arent actually that cheap. I set up an ebay watcher for broken / old ones. :<
