Hey all,
I've lurked around the forums for an answer but can't seem to find any posts about this or anything. I'm wondering what folks consider as the best tablet that is currently available (January 2017) for Remix OS?
In terms of "best tablet" I mean something for gaming, general use, productivity, pretty high specs, etc. And of course, the tablet should be able to run Remix OS without any (major/minor) hiccups.
I see the Google Pixel C is capable of running Remix OS but can't really find any posts or comments from folks about other solid tablets that run Remix. And, please do not suggest any Microsoft Surface product.
What are any recommendations from the community?
Thanks!
No one has suggestions for what might be a bada$$ tablet for Remix OS?
Well, as you mentioned it runs flawless on my pixel c. Anyway, I switched back to Stock because of the lack of updates under Remix OS. Despite of this it's the best productivity OS for Android around.

I am using remix os on huawei matebook, it is a windows 12 inch core m tablet, but I managed to install remix os on it, the only flaw is power button does not work, so I have to set the remix os to keep screen awake all the time, other than that, perfect.
it gives me the smoothest android experience, it runs much faster than pixel c, and of course it can switch back to Windows 10
lol the best tablet should be surface pro 3, everything works.

Surface pro at 800 grams is too heavy for prolonged tablet use.
I much prefer Huawei's matebook (better specs too) and I would had held onto it if the power button was not broken (on Remix OS) and since I can't stand Windows on tablets I had to return it.
I think remix OS is best used on lightweight 2in1s , more heavyweight ones are better used in laptop mode in which case windows is probably better
My OS hierarchy goes like this :
Desktop/laptop: Windows if you're gaming / need proprietary software. Linux if not (distro doesn't matter)
Tablet: Remix OS
Phones: Android, the closest to vanilla the better.
IMO windows is bad for anything without a keyboard
Chrome OS is bad for everyone
Apple operating systems while polished are too restrictive. They're a throwback to early computing which is obsolete. Eventually they will be phased out.
Edit: oops sorry , for resurrecting an ancient thread. Just saw the date.
I'm using RemixOS on my MiPad 2. It is not a perfect option since Mipad is not officially supported. But it's the best one for its price and quality.
I'm not into gaming and I strongly doubt Mipad has good gaming experience. But for everyday use and study it's quite OK.

ive bene loving the note since the day i got it, still have no complaints, but the way i always wanted to use it was the way RemixOS is working. so would their be any chance of getting remix os working on our notes?
They seem to position Remix OS as android for normal PC, and state x86 everywhere which actually might mean Intel x86 architecture. Its basically incompatible to ARM architecture so I guess chance is 0%. Better ask them directly I think.
They advertise is as being compatible with the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10, so it's possible I would imagine.
However, seeing as how they don't seem to provide any access to their source code I get the feeling they're not going to be a good OSS citizen which makes me dislike them a lot already.
I was thinking about buying a remix ultra tablet, but before I buy, I wonder if I could flash remix OS on my nexus 7 2013 so that I would know what I'm getting into before spending $300? Has anyone tried doing this successfully? If so, how?
It is a decent hardware but I wonder if you can flash something else on it later.
I am not sure if you can flash on it or not, but if the remix OS is not buggy, then it doesn't matter to me. I actually do want to buy it for productivity purposes, as it comes. If the software works, then it would be even better than a pixel C for productivity to me, not only for price, I like the design, and the software looks good too. But like I am saying, I was wanting to try the Remix OS software first on a device that I already have, before I spend $300 on a device designed specifically for that software which could be buggy.
Any way this would be possible on our tablets? This ui is amazing.

Given the lack of support for custom roms fir this tablet I doubt there will be a Remix OS any time soon. I do surely hope so, looks magnificent!
It surely does. I have the Samsung keyboard/trackpad case. This would be great for productivity with this Tablet and the keycase together
I'd donate to see that happen to be honest.
jide.com/remixos/devices/nexus10 i dont know how far off this tablet is. but a guy with some kernel/rom knowledge should be able to make it work^^ i would LOVE too see this and with overclock abilities! make it happen
Hi everyone. I see that RemixOS is now officially supported on the Google Pixel C. But what I don't see is a lot of feedback on using is long-term.
I loved my Remix Ultratablet at first. Great form-factor, and of course RemixOS. Though over the course of a few months it started to show problems, many of which are productivity killers: freezing, display lag, video playback lag, touch inaccuracies, etc.
The Pixel C also has a cool form factor, and (people say) the hardware of the Pixel C great, but the OS was lacking. It seems that Pixel C + RemixOS could be a powerful combo. But has anyone used this combination long-ish term that can share feedback?
Thanks in advance.
i dont understand the original google android os should better than remix os, its not stable ,cost lots of batteries

I've had the Pixel C for over a year and have not really used it much lately. I had at one point installed RemixOS but had issues with the window function (windows would always be stuck to edge of screen and be unmovable) and have since returned back to stock.
I'm looking to utilize the tablet again as I did pay good money for it NOT to be a sitting dust collector. I just wanted input from the community on the different ROMs available. I mainly used the tablet for productivity and occasional gaming/streaming.
I like lineage OS.
It is unofficial still but close to stock with small footprint and is rock solid in performance.

Thanks for your input I'll give Lineage a try. Do you happen to have experience with the Resurrection OS by any chance?

I do not.
I stuck with LineageOS because it is the old cyanogenmod team.
If you were to be on the stable OS which is v14 or Nougat i think you get pretty regular never fail updates.
I went with the unoffical LineageOS v15 as it is based on Oreo.
A little more cumbersome in performing updates as it isn't supported by Lineage proper just yet, but rock solid otherwise
My pixel C is by far the least modified of all my devices and is pretty vanilla excapt for being rooted.
I use Dirty Unicorns. Is the only rom that seems more responsive than stock
Any Chrome OS ROM for the Pixel C? Now that Acer et al have detachable Chrome tablets this should work for the Pixel C, too.
