There's no option to have shortcuts on the lockscreen if you are using any type of security lock (pattern, PIN, password). Shortcuts appear with the swipe lock, but people snoop on my phone all the time so I'm not planning to unsecure my phone anytime soon. I was wondering if there was any way to put shortcuts on the lockscreen (maybe with a flashable mod or an app), or if it's simply impossible.
Have you tried using smart lock settings? That's what I've been using.

Ah yes I forgot about that. I had been using my face as a trusted face, but I turned it off because it could never detect me in the one place that I always sit in the house! Having had a think, no one ever snoops on my phone at home, so I've set my home address as a trusted location. One problem though: the shortcuts appear but there's no option in the settings to customise them.

Remove password requirements and set to swipe for lockscreen. Change shortcuts. Change back to password or however security settings you want.

When I use e.g. Microsoft Next lock screen, the stock lock screen still appears after I unlocked the Next lock screen. Is there any way (e.g. using a Xposed module I didn't find [emoji24] ) to fully suppress the stock lock screen, so I only see the custom one?

Here's what I did/used. Can't guarantee it will work for everyone else, or with other lockscreens, but it's worth a shot.
I'm running ACDisplay on 4.6.3 w/ xposed, rooted, GApps & Play Services, etc. Nothing Amazon Lock Screen related frozen/disabled/deleted.
Installed ACDisplay (sideloaded an APK, then installed it. Don't know if it will work through the Play Store or not)
Opened ES File Explorer, made sure Root Explorer was turned on
found the installed apk (com.achep.acdisplay-1.apk) in /data/app
renamed it LockScreen.apk and moved it to /system/priv-app/
Opened up AC Display, granted it access to Accessibility Settings and Notifications
In ACDisplay>Settings>Lockscreen I moved the slider to On and made sure that "Enable when no notifications" was ticked
Opened Xposed and activated the ACDisplay module.
Rebooted
After the restart, the Amazon Lock Screen popped up once, and then after that, only ACDisplay has popped up.
No unlocking ACDisplay and then having to swipe the Amazon Lock screen.
No carbon fiber background where I have to turn off the screen and then turn it back on again to get my lockscreen
It just works. After further reboots, I don't even get the Amazon Lock screen the first time.

Is there a way to do that with another lock screen app (e.g. it doesn't seem to have a pattern lock fiction)?

I don't think you have to make acdisplay a system app. It works for me just using xposed. Not sure if making another locker a system app would work or if it's the xposed aspect of acdisplay that makes it function properly.
Sometimes, no idea why, the standard Fire Phone lock screen pops up, no idea, why. This is SO weird!!

How do I freeze the stock lock screen?
Gesendet von meinem SD4930UR mit Tapatalk
Actually, I don't really think that the Xposed integration has much to do with it. I had AC Display with Xposed integration enabled and was getting the same issues as the OP. It wasn't until I made AC Display the system app that it actually worked. So I'd go with that.
Next works for me without Xposed. Remove any pin or password you set up for the system lock screen, and select None for your pin/pattern in system settings. The system lock screen will keep showing up as long as you have it turned on with pin/password
I'm SO pissed at Amazon right now!! I tried to use a locker besides ACDisplay and either the stock lock screen popped up after the custom one or the system started to go haywire, when I froze the stock lock screen app (the home button stopped working, all the keyboards except for the stock one disappeared and forgot their settings, when they came back, the recent apps list was gone and probably stuff I didn't notice). That's the last time I buy any phone or tablet with anything other than good ol Android running on it. I had more than enough of this Android knockoff from Amazon and I wouldn't have bought this phone anyway, if I weren't broken as usual.

It's not Amazon if it works. Did you do what I described above, and only what I described? I didn't do anything fancy. I merely removed the pin I set in Amazon settings, and configured the rest inside of the Next app. It works without root, and has continued to work with root for almost a year now. I'm on Fire Os. Never installed CM.
Why would you freeze the system lock screen? Doing that created the problems you mentioned, not Amazon. Just reset the phone if need be, and then do what I described above. Worst case scenario is that it doesn't work, but your phone will.
May the odds be ever in your favor.

Too bothersome, I'm back with using the stock lockscreen again.

I'm Damn sure this method will permanently change the stock lock screen.
Hey, try using zui locker convert it to system app using titanium backup and make sure that you haven't put any security code to the stock lock screen, im sure it'll work fine and the stock lock screen will not pop up. And tell you what zui locker is the best, elegant and most rated locker on play store.
Hi,
yesterday I became 5x owner and I read everything about problems with unlocking with FP If you use "lock sreen app for it".
But that's not problem, since my phone is rooted and I can use one of solutions.
My question is ...
Is there any solution to use JUST fingerprint unlock, without having PIN code/pattern. Why?
If you press power button to get lock screens on and than tap on notification (SMS, email) you have to put PIN. And that's annoying.
If i use FP unlock than you came directly on home screen and in you have to open taskbar to see notification...and that's annoying too.
Or maybe same question from the other side. Is there any solution to open notification from lockscreen without PIN code/pattern, BUT with fingerprint on.
I also noticed that form ambient screen I can double tap notification, but again, PIN code/pattern ...
Thanks for help!
Even I wanna know a solution to this.

Tap the notification on the lockscreen. When the PIN entry appears, do the fingerprint thing and it will take you to the app that was making the notification. It works, but is kind of awkward.

oh jeah, i realized ... Thanks. Really awkw.
Is there no other more elegant way? I don't want the damn PIN at all.
I just want a pure stock way not to use the power button so much (not gravity screen), which is what I thought the FP was all about.
I guess I could use a really simple pattern...so it's super quick. Annoying though.
Why is it that we are still having to adapt our behaviour to technology? That is the opposite of good HUI design.
Start with No LockScreen
Use Secure Settings App to set PIN/PassWord
Set up Imprint
Use Secure Settings App to disable Pin/Password

I'd thank you, but I'v used up my thanks for today (!!). So, a cheery "thanks mate" will have to suffice.
I do wonder a few things though.
1. Does Secure Settings need root to do what you suggest? I'm not rooted.
2. The closest thing I can find is the Keyguard Disable, which is a legacy feature and presents a warning that it may make my device unstable and it therefore not recommended. Is this the correct setting for my n5x 6.0.1 April?
3. I couldn't see any obvious option in Secure Settings to set a PIN or Pass.
Thanks.
You can delete all the files with .key extension in system/data folder using file manager in TWRP. It will give you fingerprint+no pattern as you want it to be.
are there any news on this topic? Im really interested in using my fingerprint sensor without setting a pin. I tried the method with secure settings app, but I cant find an option to set a pin with the app. I also tried to find my files with .key extensions in my system/data folder but there werent such files. gururoop said I need to use file manager in TWRP to do so, I dont even know what TWRP is.
Any other ways to get this accomplished? Did you find a solution tedrogers61?
You need to be rooted to delete the files. You only need to remove /data/system/locksettings.db
hmm well okay. Im actually not so happy with rooting my device. No other chance to use imprint without setting an additional pin/passwort?
Simplest way to use set unset PIN/PASSWORD in Secure Settings is by temporarily adding a home screen shortcut (via launcher widgets/shortcuts). The process of creating the shortcut brings you to the screens for selecting the actions (Dev Admin actions). Secure Settings needs to have Device Administrator permission. Once you are set up if just delete the shortcuts. No Root required for this.
On my Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite 4/64 Android One 9, I can't find the way to not see the contents of WhatsApp notifications with locked screen.
I would like the screen to turn on by showing only how many WhatsApp notifications are to be read, not that they show them in full screen and content.
Is this option missing only to me or even to you? In older Android versions, in the lock screen settings, there was the possibility to also choose "Show notifications, hide contents".
Thank you,
Settings > security & location > lock screen preferences > show/hide notification content on lock screen

Hello, thanks for answering me so quickly.
Unfortunately, there's no setting to choose other than
"show all notification content"
Or
"Don't show notifications at all".
There used to be a third choice (at least on other smartphones), that was "show notifications, hide content", but it's missing and I cannot understand why.
My MI A2 Lite Is brand new and has AndroidOne. Sorry for the Italian screenshot.
What can I do?

Try putting a password or PIN
Oh. It worked, with a sequence for example, the third option appeared. Is it possible to unlock the screen by just swiping it, but maintaining the notifications content hidden?

Set pin delay for x amount of time. For that x amount of time you can unlock by swiping. After the x time you have to re-enter the PIN.

Oh this looks like a fantastic feature. How can I set it? Where's the pin delay time input mode?

Settings > Security & Location > PIN
Click on the settings icon near the PIN and then > Automatically lock and set delay. You can set max 30 mins.
Or you can just set a pattern as a easy swipe.
I have a feeling that some apps seem to keep getting permissions revoked or so. For example, I have permanent notifications allowed and enabled for my weather app (the weather channel), but when I close the app the system seems to revoke the permissions and it closes the temp. text and the notification. I also use an app for double tap to wake, I enable all the permissions to make it work permanently and in the background, but when I close the app it also seems to revoke the permissions and asks me to enable it each time I re-open the app. Anyone knows how to fix this? I have the miui 12.5.1 global stable for poco.

It might be caused by an aggressive Powermanagement. Try to deactivate energysaving for the double-tap-to-wakeup-app.

I'll try that, thanks. Also, I've already received miui 12.5 stable, but only with April security patch, whereas supposedly it got released with May security patch. Should I be worried?
Permanent notifications still not working, even after disabling power savings under battery and performance. The apps get suspended and stop running in the background and the notifications disappear when I close the apps
