Camera options - Google Pixel XL Questions & Answers

I see all these people posting "filtered" pictures on social media but my phone doesn't seem to have them. Is there a good app to download for this or am I just not using what's already there unknowingly.

Any good 3rd party YouTube apps out there?

Going from iOS to android is an amazing chsnge. Everything is better. Especially the Google apps. Unfortunately there's one problem with the YouTube app. Where's the deticated subscription only videos tab. Only a channel feed which is just filled with videos my subscriptions liked commented etc. Am I missing something or what but I can't find the subscription only view mode.
Youtube app version: latest 4.0.23

Screenshots of your favorite multiwindow setup

Just curious. I see very few reasons to use this feature. I just hold home for to seconds and hop back and forth. Or copy and paste. What do you guys love it for?

Is it too late to modify the topic before it's flooded with tons of useless pics showing 2 apps running? No offense, but it's an idea as pointless as posting home screens or telling which color phone you bought.
Perhaps we would all be helped by elaborating on, "how have you gotten the most use or productivity using mw"

When I'm editing files on my phone per instructions of a developer, it is nice to have both root explorer open as well as a screen shot from gallery illustrating what needs to be done so I don't have to keep closing and opening the file editing app.

I find it makes it easier to copy text from an app (like browser) into an SMS/email etc without switching back and forth. Don't use it a lot but when i do use it, it's very useful and works very well.
For me it solves the problem of YouTube shutting down whenever the app is not in use. I listen to a lot of music there and many videos aren't even videos but just images with the audio playing. Now I fire up youtube in 1 section and open the browser or whatever else in the other and maiximize its size.
I use it while doing Google chat with people while also Web browsing.

I like to play Word Feud in one window but have FB or Chrome open in the other then I can surf while I'm waiting for people to take their turns! Lol True multitasking at its finest.

Photo/Video Editor

Unless I'm missing something...I am stunned there is no video editor. Took an awesome slow motion video I wanted to edit. Any suggestions on a good one?

Options are limited. But I heard Cyberlink's PowerDirector isn't half bad:

What do you think about it. I just downloaded and tried it and it is a bit confusing. I mean I got it but it isn't very intuitive

I haven't used it personally. I've only heard people talking about it which led me to look it up at one point. As I was looking through the screenshots of the app I figured it was easier for me to just use my computer with a full featured editor. But for a mobile editor on android, it's probably your best bet. Sorry I can't provide more info.
You're fine bud I appreciate the reply regardless

I've used the Power Director program on my computer before. It does work well, when it works. I find that 70% of the time it crashes and you lose your work. I'll have to get it a shot on my phone.

Can't hurt to try it out

Gallery app for pixel

Has anyone found a really good gallery app that works well with the Pixel?
I don't like Google Photos and I tried using Piktures but it causes issues when i try deleting images.
Is anyone able to get the new Samsung Gallery from the S7 working on the Pixel?
Thanks
I use QuickPic, have for years.

This is the AOSP gallery app. Works well on my Pixel XL
Play store just search gallery and its the first one 4.3 stars it's amazing! Try it you'll thank me later
APP name: Gallery, from Fayvr Media Ltd.
Called MyRoll Gallery before, and the only disadvantage is the ad. Sometime it's annoying.
I use HTC Gallery
Another vote for QuickPic. I've been using it for years and it works great. Even on folders with thousands and thousands of pictures in it.

I was actually looking for that.
Used to have it on my HTC 10 and was pretty happy with it.
Thanks everyone!
Samsung gallery is the best but sadly not installable in other brand phones
I use camera roll. I think it's good.
QuickPic is from Cheetah Mobile which is a untrustworthy company isn't it?
I don't have an issue with google pictures personally. what are people's problems with it?
Simple Gallery!

It wasn't always the case. There's a resigned version of the app in the XDA forums which will block the updates to when CM acquired Quicpic.

Can you turn motion photos into GIFs?

When you save motion photos as video and upload it to social media it sends like a video. Is there a way to make it into a looping GIF?

only way I have found is by using an app.
many on play store, but motion stills by google seems to work best for me.
The quality is so bad though

Motion stills app by Google can loop it. Not sure but I think you can view your motion pictures in the motion stills app and convert.
