So on every phone I get, I always go to check if there's any Pierre Cardin cases for it because they're just awesome. i love normal cases, and my favorite so far on the V20 before I got these was the Ringke Onyx because it looks/feels awesome, but leather cases just feel even better than a normal TPU, so I always end up gravitating towards them. luckily the company was pretty quick getting these out, so I snatched up all 3 colors because the brown, red and black leather look awesome and all 3 have a distinct feel (must be different kinds of leather? idk)

so each case is pretty similar except the black feels the most different in terms of the leather. the brown and red are very smooth, and the black has more ridges/cracks in it, which is cool for a more distressed look. the brown is a very bright brown; much brighter than the brown i got for my S7, but much more like the brown on my Note 4, so i guess it really depends on the kind of leather they use. plus they all smell like leather which is awesome lol. the stitching looks cool, and the logo on the bottom fits in well.
there IS camera protection on this which is great, because the case is thicker than the phone with the camera sticking out, so you shouldn't worry about putting it down on a table or anything. because it's so nice and thick though, you may not like the cutout for the fingerprint scanner. it's not that it's too small (it's slightly larger than the button itself) but it's that since it's thick, getting your finger in there may be a pain if you have huge fingers. the Onyx case got around this by having the case get slimmer as it went into the sensor, but i don't know if that would look good with leather honestly. works on TPU, may not on leather. either way, not a huge issue, and the scanner reads my finger perfect every time anyway, but it just may feel weird.
on the right side, for some reason, there's a cutout for the battery door button. no idea why. maybe these went into production before they had the actual phone in hand and just based it off specs, but either way I've informed them of such and maybe they'll make a revision and get rid of the cutout. on the left side, the volume buttons are left open, so easily accessible. i like the fact that the top and bottom aren't covered by the case, as they're completely left open with a slight lip, because it makes the case feel much less bulky. many may not like it, citing that it won't give complete protection, but if you're careful with your phone, you'll like how it makes it look/feel.
the only downside i had with these is that the leather may be a bit stiff at first. i had some fitment issues in that i had to actually bend the top corners in a bit so that the lip would fit over the phone, and the phone wouldn't pop out of the corner. i was able to bend all 3 in a bit to make them fit better so when face down, the lip is completely over the phone so it won't slide on the surface. i suspect this may have something slightly to do with the fact that the V20 curves inward at the top and bottom, so the fitment may not be 100% perfect simply because there's no top/bottom of the case as it's left open. either way, it's fitting nice and it's a great case.
i'd totally recommend this if you want a quality leather case. there's no other good leather ones out there (the fake looking leather TPU ones aren't even in the same league) so you should definitely check out Pierre Cardin. a bit pricey at $25 a pop, but if you seriously want a nice looking quality minimalistic case, it's worth every penny.

i had something like this for my iphone and it only collected dust in the back and made more scratches on the back of the phone
if you drop it, your phone is gonna get F'd, which beats the point of a case.
yeah it looks nice, but i highly doubt the phone will land directly on it's back, on the case
if you want a good case, just get any TPU case, they're cheap and they dont scratch your phone

OP, i was browsing on ebay and looking at that exact same one yesterday and i gotta say, although it looks nice and i was 2 heartbeats away from clicking buy, it isn't protecting much; other than the already safe rubberized battery cover.
I would love one that is the bumper wrap around found for the international SGS2.

I've had one of these on my old vibrant. They're basically a clear hard plastic on the sides and is snapped on like the incipio feather cases. There is a slight indent in the back which is used for the aluminum "sticker" once the the aluminum is applied u won't see the indent and sits flush. The aluminum is a concentric pattern and pretty ugly in person. But that's my opinion.

I have to disagree with this. Most cases are meant to protect against daily activities. IE: Keys in pocket while walking, non caring when you put your phone down etc etc. Minor drops most cases will help against small dents and scratches as well. If a person is really worried about their phone dropping onto a hard service or really damaging it, then there are cases out there to help protect against such events. If things were aesthetic than people would just leave their phone on without a case.

These have stood the test of time for me. Sleek and durable, used them on my Sensation without issue & have taken some major wallops and spills with the GS2. Supreme protection IMO
Incipio SILICRYLIC in blue exclusively for T-Mobile USA.
The case is very, very nice. The soft material is very comfortable and a joy to grip. The plastic is also a great "soft" feeling material. I've jumped through 4 premium cases so far and this is by far the best one for what I want in a case. The only thing that stopped me from buying this in the 1st place, was the colors available on the Incipio site. The color of this one is more of a metallic teal than the blue that it looks in the pictures. I'd rather have the blue, but the teal is very attractive in person.
The case is $30 at T-Mobile (I snagged it for like $23). I would've payed the $30 though no problem. Cause I feel the case is way better than some that are priced higher.
The main thing about this case - It's easy to take off so I can swap batteries. This is a must for me as I've tried it with the speck case, the body glove dimensions and the case-mate barely there and this is by far the easiest to take off.
When it comes to protection, this is number 1 from the ones I've tried. And that includes the speck candy shell. The reason this beats the speck? Cause you seriously run a risk of cracking the gs3 screen while trying to remove it from the speck. And there should be no reason that a case, can make you risk breaking your phone while trying to do a simple task like removing it.
Some say "use a tool to remove the speck". Nah, I'll pass. If the 10 tools that I use daily for other jobs (fingers), can't remove the case, then the case is a p.o.s.
If the phone falls in this case, it has just as much of a survival rate as that of the candy shell, if not more... I have dropped phones from waist high with a Incipio feather on it and it didn't have a mark on it (gs2). I'm pretty sure that this case can do better. The candy shell, though it has a hard and soft material, is a lot less shock absorbing than this. The reason is the specks "soft material", isn't nearly as soft as this Incipio case. And for that reason alone, I feel there's a risk of less shock absorption with it than this case.. Drop a rock and a sponge and tell me which one does better...

How is the sides? Does the rubber lift up while handling it. Seems like it might with not much support along the sides. Also how are the button presses? Still crisp and "clicky" if you will?

Nah, it doesn't really "lift up". Of course where the volume buttons are it's a little "looser" than the rest. But it has less support. It's not a problem as it only "lifts up" when you try to make it "lift up".
I too have the Incipio "silicrylic" for my galaxy s3. Ebay order, about $25 IIRC. I went with the standard black and was pleased as well.
Echo the comments on the "soft" feeling texture of the case. It is a snug fit, but nothing that would damage the phone going on/off. Rubber comes up and around the sides for a ridge on the face (clear in your pics) I'd take some pics of mine but black is black lol...
All around a great case. I have this case and the vented Samsung (the one with the coin kickstand thing). I use this case daily.
The two layer approach, rubber + the shell really seems effective.
Oh, and fit around the buttons is excellent imho. I don't feel it takes any more effort or is any difficult at all with the rubber case over the buttons.
The screen protector they give you with it isn't that great though (imho). I've tried both ZAGG and Skinomi, plus the one that came with the Incipio. So far, I like Skinomi the best, but I ordered the ZAGG replacement because the store guy goofed the install...
Anyway man great review, I feel ya on giving it high marks. I like that case as well. Not a bad pick up for $25. :laugh:
Biggest downside is you're covering up a fine looking phone!

There was a 30% coupon that expired on 6/30. You can't stack it with the 25% employee discount. Some did stack with the buy 2 get one free. No longer valid though.
Are the edges rounded and have a nice finish? I had it for my Amaze and the case was haggard. Sharp edges and they didn't have much attention to detail.

The edges have enough silicone to stay in place. As long as you don't have super tight pants you're fine.

I have a black one on my gs3, and I would say the grip is good. It's "soft" and still has enough texture to be grippy. It shouldn't slide out of your pants. I use it with dress pants (think suit pants) at work everyday. No issue.
The texture of the outer shell is actually different than the inner rubber. Shell is more soft and smooth, while the inner rubber is soft and tacky. Top, bottom, and button covers are left as rubber, while the outer basically covers the back and corners. Hope that helps.

It looks and feels fantastic on my blue phone, contrary to the pictures the outlining is more of a dark grey in limited/low lighting situations, not the light grey that you see in some of the pictures.
I tried the black/black (local AT&T prime mobile has that and the black/yellow) and I found that on the blue phone the black diminished the overall look of the phone imo.
I would really like the dark grey outlining and possibly a light grey/black cover, seems like it would look good like that, but I'm happy with my purchase, thanks again!

Man this thing came fast! I ordered it last Thursday night, it arrived today. 2 business days from New York, this seller is on it! Not bad considering I live on the West Coast.
Fit and finish:
When I opened up the package and grabbed the case out of it's blister pack the first thing I noticed was the whole thing was not TPU like I thought it was going to be. The shiny plastic part is a hard plastic and the dull part is silicone. The shiny part isn't so hard that it'll break if you bend it, although I wouldn't try tying it in a knot either, it does have some give to it but it's pretty rigid at the same time. The silicone part is nice cause not only does it provide a lip on the front side of the case allowing you to set the phone face down without damaging it, but it also allows the buttons to be pressed as easily as if nothing was over them. Very nice touch! When looking at the phone from the front you can hardly tell it's even got a case on it, very low profile, very little bulk added. From the back it's much more noticeable due to the way it frames the battery cover, which accentuates my white carbon fiber cover perfectly. The lip it adds to the backside is more significant, I'd guess to ensure you don't mess up your camera/flash/speaker/cover when setting the phone face up.
There is room for improvement though....The cutouts are fairly accurate but the top mic opening is a bit off, it doesn't cover the mic but it's noticeably off centered. You can also see the excess from the mold it was formed in and the transitions from plastic to silicone isn't exactly the smoothest. These are the fine details that can make a good product a great one but it won't be noticed or cared about by most. To be honest, I don't even care about it and i'm very particular, but I like to keep my reviews true and honest.
Once caressed into place, the case fits like a glove and looks very nice. The grip in comparison to the Seidio Surface case is significantly better. This is a minimalists' dream! It protects the corners and edges of the phone, has some screen protection, some camera/battery cover protection, while adding insignificant bulk and allowing you to show off your nice battery cover.
Final thought:
Want drop protection with minimal bulk? This case is for you. It feels good in the hand, adds grip, highlights your battery cover by framing it nicely and when handling the phone without looking at it (putting in or out of your pocket, for example) it gives the feel of a naked phone for the most part. I have finally found a setup i'm 100% happy with, minus the screen protector...but that's going to be changed out for a SPG Ultra Nano Clear as soon as I feel like doing it. The seller is awesome, ships super fast and the product is well worth the cost, which is just $7 shipped. Matter of fact, i'm gonna see if they have any other colors available. Highly recommended!

I think ur gonna love it. It's amazing to me that this $7 case is much grippier than the $30 Seidio Surface. I can rest this thing in my hand, not even squeezing it from the sides, and hold it damn near vertical before it begins to slide down in my hand. I got it from eBay as well, yes it'll fit perfectly. The only difference between the Intl. version and the US version is internals.
I got my self a pack 2 tone color bumpers 5 for 12 from hong kong with a white carbon fiber back the bumpers are amazing. The fit is small lip on the front and back to keep the screen and camera lense off of surfaces. The button response is flawless, it looks sexy and it fits snug. Im so happy with this purchase

I have a TPU case, I can bend and twist that thing however I want and never fear it will break.....cant say the same for this bumper. It's bendable but much more rigid than TPU and certainly feels as if it'll break if bent too much. This isn't a complaint at all as being able to tie my case into a knot is not a prerequisite, its just an observation.

I just finally pulled the trigger on a bumper case and the carbon fiber back. I was mulling over the back for a while and you convinced me to get it. I was also looking for a minimalistic case and this fits my needs perfect.

Thanks man....I am very happy with my setup.
Two thumbs up for this case thus far.
It is very easy to slide the phone into the case, and it requires just a little extra effort to remove it. The case is a tight fit all around. It feels sturdy and makes the phone easier to hold/grip with its more angular shape. The power button requires just a soft press, while the volume rocker requires twice the effort. The camera lens is protected and embedded ~1.5 mm within the casing.

I too got the case today with my Nexus =). I really liked the color and felt it was unique and a nice change from the black and white that every manufacturer seems to be pushing these days. I will agree on the buttons but nothing major. Seems like the phone will be safe should the horrific day arrive when the phone is dropped.

I bought the slim armor in black. I really appreciate the photos that you posted if you could post more close ups of the front and back I'm kind of curious about how thick the bezel is on the front mine should be here this week. Kinda wish I got champagne after seeing yours..
I love this quality and type of case. My friend has the same spigen for the S4 and I love the silicon/plastic style case on it. Good to see they made one for the N5.

FYI I noted in the other thread this case is significantly easier to put on and take off if you leave the two pieces together while doing it.

Hey, no problem. I believe you're asking to see a bird's view of the bezel with the case.
Also took some close-ups of the four sides for anyone who is curious:
Headphone port.
Charger port and speakers.
Right-side with power button.
Left-side with volume rocker.
Ordered the Black, looks like a great case. I like Spigen products.

I agree. The champagne color stands out and has a classy feel to it. Although I have to admit, I also like the white back of the N5. With a case or not, it is a good looking phone!

Solid point! I didn't remove the two pieces at all, which goes to show how easy the installation and removal are.

Wen i'm driving in a car i put de N5 in a car holder and with de case on i think it's to thick
for that holder.I just slide the phone in the holder.Not much space is there be left on the sides.

I'm curious on this point too. My champagne case should be delivered soon, but as I've just splashed out on (40% off) TomTom, I'd like to be able to mount the N5 on my dash. All my phones in the past have been naked, but since I've paid for this one myself I've got the Slim Armor for "protection". Maybe it's too early for the N5, but looking at other models are there ever solutions for mounting encased phones? Will the case stand up to occasional removal in order to mount on a car dash?
Come to that, has anyone yet seen a dash mount for the N5? Preferably vent-mounted; my last screen mount was broken by an over-eager MOT tester.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to share with you guys this sweet new case I just got for my new Nexus 5. Its from Bear Motion, and it is a very thin case. It has a really unique texture, which feels like sand/ sandpaper only not as rough as you think. the case has a really small lip on the front so you can place your phone face down without having your screen touch. I'm really loving it. it feels really good in the hand because it doesn't add that much bulk to your phone. I searched far and wide for a case like this. I highly recommend it. best of all i got it for like 5$ on amazon.

I got one too. I also got the bear motion non-sand version as well. Their nice, but do not give near as much grip as the ringke rearth slim does. Maybe I haven't used them long enough to let hand oils soak in? The sand version feels wild. Nothing like actual sand. More like very felt, very short cut felt. I like having many different cases to try, but so far the Ringke slim is the best imo. Thanks for sharing

Is the rough texture on the interior of the case too? This case sounds interesting, very grippy, but I would be afraid it would damage the finish of the phone.
Yeah I didn't order the bear motion one because they didn't have it in black. I do really like the quicksand style, so I ordered a generic quicksand case off ebay in black, and like 3 other types of hardcases. The quicksand is pretty much the exact same thing as the Poetic and Bear, minus the branding. Probably all made in the same factory anyway. Can't go wrong with 4 cases for like less than 10 bucks shipped! :laugh: Only thing is it takes a month to get here.
Would be interesting to compare the Bear Motion branded one with the non branded ebay ones.

I did a review of a bunch of generic ebay cases here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2577289. It also included the generic version of the Bear Motion/Poetic Quicksand cases. I'm pretty sure like I mentioned earlier that they're the exact same cases, from the same factories, without the company branding on it.

Just got a green one today for my white Nexus and gotta say I'm loving it so far! It looks and feels great. I just hoping it provides okay protection... Yesterday I dropped my phone for the first time and my Diztronic case proved to have GREAT drop protection (no damage from a waist high fall, screen first!). Obviously the Bear Motion obviously isn't meant to protect from drops but hopefully it will be better than nothing. Anyways, sweet case and definitely a favorite out of all (5) of my cases
If someone can prove that the ebay cases are the same, minus the branding, I'll definitely pic up some more colors!

Yeah I'm not going to take you up on that offer. No reason for me to spend more (when I spent the best $0.99 on a case ever haha), just to find out if a case with a Bear Motion stamp is the same as my generic one! I don't think a 20x price increase (original price) + shipping is worth it for me to test 10 letters of white ink.

Hmmm, interesting haha. Exact same color choices. Even down to the watermelon pink orange that they say is orange. I ended up getting that "orange" as well from ebay, thinking the color was.... well orange.

Hmmm, interesting again! Same wood type/wood grain used as a backdrop for the case.
You know, some crazy person might even come to some weird conclusion that it's almost as if they were the exact same case! Possibly, with pictures taken from the same factory location, one before stamping, and another afterward! This is tough detective work though, I don't think anyone will ever truly know the answer to this mystery! :highfive:
