[Q] help my recovery menu is gone

i rescently flashed 2.2 android on my motorola defy, and i loaded a new boot scren animation and ever since my phone won't boot right i get the AA logo and it restarts instead of loading the new boot animation, restarts itself over and over, i wanted to try to reflash it so i held down power and volume down thing and i clicked on bottom right corner and nothing, i continued to click all around and nothing, NO RECOVERY menu came up at all so i cannot whipe it, can anyonje help please?

You will have to install a new sbf...
For that you need to go to bootloader (Power+volume UP)
Install RSD Lite and flash the new sbf!
It may fix it..
EDIT!!
Try Power and Volum Down and if you see an android with a yeallow triangle, Press the buttons as mentioned in the post below and you'll go to stock recovery.

Try volume up and down really fast. Not touching bottom corner. I don't even have my Defy yet but I'm sure I read this!

fast response, ill try that im not sure if it replaces the boot screen tho thats the problem on my phone i tried to installa dif one but im flashing the 2.2 sbf tho

yay thanks so much i reflashed it and it works fine, but if anyone could help me get my recovery menu back i would greatly appreciate it so i can install roms

you'll have to root and reinstall recovery again

Your welcome
To get CWM recovery back you'll need to root. (use SuperOneClick)
Then Install Sd recovery (hhttp://tinyurl.com/3dbqefx)
Install recovery and done!

[Q] DHD stuck at logo after trying to flash IceColdSandwich 8.7

Hi guys,
As the title says, I've tried flashing in a new/last IceColdSandwich 8.7 AOKP last night. I've been running that mod since... well v4.x or something, never had any problems flashing it.
Procedure: the usual, download the rom, check the checksum, start the Rom Manager and install the ROM from SD, nothing weird.
This time tho I'm stuck at the white HTC screen. Any options? I tried volume-down/power switch boot but it's the same result, nothing happens.
It's worth noting that I had some issues with unresponsive volume button, but I think I'd get it right once in those 20-ish times I tried.
Any ideas?

Try to type "adb reboot recovery" when on white HTC screen if you got adb installed.

It's pretty weird, I used the same machine to perform rooting and all that long time ago so drivers should work. I guess I'll have to refresh those first. While I'm at it, are there any new/important/must have drivers I should use?
If I never get to HBOOT while holding volume-down + power, is that a good sign that my volume button is screwed up or can it be something else/worse?

Ok, it's fixed now...
Extremely weird that it got screwed up, it was a really stable rom. And it looks as stable now when I got it running.
I tried installing new sdk and drivers abd stuff, but just got tired of it and went loco on the volume thingie. Extremely flimsy solution, but after some buttkicking thete was suddenly a contact every now and then. After some 10 - 15 attempts to press volume-down + power button I've got it working.
Installing a rom was a snap after that. Still think it was a weird glitch trat it died on me last night.

Help! Stuck trying to reboot into non-working recovery!

Hi all,
I recently tried flashing the latest twrp recovery onto my galaxy s3 from an app called recovery tools I had installed from the play store. After flashing, I hit reboot into recovery. The phone then shut down and said it was trying to reboot into recovery but just came up with a black screen. I have taken out the battery and put it back in multiple times, and I have tried booting into download mode, but no mater what I do, it keeps trying to reboot into the non working recovery. I have the ATT galaxy s3 running cm 11 4.4.2 and I have the xposed framework installed. Please help! I'm at a loss for what to do! Thank you!

Well guys I just wanted to post that I have found the fix in case anyone was having the same issue that I was. Unplug the battery and wait 6 minutes, then plug it back in and enter download mode by holding vol down, home, and the power button then when the screen pops up with a warning, hit cancel and reboot, and then your phone should boot up!

So... i was backing up my phone(twrp 2.8) and the light on the screen turned off. When i pressed the power button to turn it back on... well nothing. Hard bricked? The red LED wont turn on when plugged in. Does detect the phone if i plug it in PC.
Edit: Well... i managed to reboot it... but keeps rebooting in recovery.
God... moved past the recovery bootloop. but now im stuck at "Android is upgrading. Starting apps." fml.

Looks like u had installed twrp 2.8 on lollipop v5.0.2 .
- you will get your phone jammed there just like paralyses when you try to backup/restore i too got this problem.
- U were supposed to install TWRP 2.8.7 in lollipop
- HOLD power + BOTH VOL button long to come out
Well... i managed to reboot it... but keeps rebooting in recovery
- After u come out again ur screen is on if u go back to recovery again , In recovery HOLD POWER + VOL UP long
- Your phone will get restarted normally to HTC boot .
stuck at "Android is upgrading. Starting apps."
- Just leave the phone to upgrade if failes
- power down your phone
- Go to HBOOT VOL DOWN + POWER
- Staying at bootlodder flash TWRP 2.8.7 exe just doble click from pc ( put this exe in fastboot & ADB drivers folder for best result )
- Reboot now to FASTBOOT
- Go to recovery
- Check for TWRP changes
- MAke backup
- reboot system
- You Must not be stuck at upgrading long.
Make sure of above all button combination you do

Stuck on Recovery Menu

Hello Everyone,
So Redmi Note 8 was working fine. For the last few days randomly the Volume Icon Appears on the screen and doesn't go away until I press volume down. I think this issue is related to the Volume Up Button. sometimes it doesn't work.
A day ago it got an update so I tried to update it.. after download it restarted and was loading .. got stuck on 4.99% for a while then restarted itself into the recovery menu. no matter how many times I tried to reboot.. it just comes back to it..
after a while when I tried to reboot while holding down the volume down and the power button it rebooted. and was fine but still had the volume issue..
just a few mins ago it restarted and now again its stuck on the recovery menu..
I don't mind about data already backed up when it booted.
i don't really need it to be rooted.
Just want it to work.. also having a custom recovery is fine.
so what do I do for that?? I was looking through guides everything I found required enabling bootloader but my phone won't boot so no way to do that.. at least I don't know of any method.
if anyone can help me with it.. i will really appreciate it..

Edit: Its on a Loop now.. Stay on Recovery Menu for a few mins then restarts and goes back into the recovery menu. Been doing it over and over again.

Update:
I figured out the issue.. it was the volume button.. the volume up button was not working as mentioned.. but it seems it was stuck at the volume up position.. That was the reason why I had the Volume notification on screen all the time... and the reason why it kept going back to the recovery menu..
I replaced the Volume Button and now everything is good.
