how to go into standby instead of shutdown by ignition off? - MTCB Android Head Units Q&A

I have a seicane android radio and i am running malaysk 4.4.4 rom
It is a model 's07' MCTB-KGL-V2.83 rk388 and uses an ARM Cortex-A9 @ 1.6gz (x4)
The unit is specially 'designed' to perfectly fit into a BMW MINI COOPER 2006 > 2012
I use this unit now for several months and it works great, certainly after i updated it with the latest malaysk rom
But it do have an question regarding the poweroff and starting up of the unit.
As it is more ore less a tablet in a car i do not understand why it shuts down completely when i turn off the ignition.
Eachtime i start the car or just turn ignition on it has to 'cold start' and it takes sometime to everything to work.
If it was a tablet and i pushed the power button it would go into standby and on a simply press it would be back on again in no time.
So why does the car unit does not the same?!?
When i use the powerbutton on the radio it does this, but when i turn of the ignition it does eachtime a complete shutdown.
Is this a setting somewhere what i missed, it would be great if i turned down the ignition it go into standby and when i turn ON the ignition it would start immidiatly (a warm boot instead cold boot).
Power consumption is not really a issue because it is hooked up to the car battery.
Who can help/advise in this?

I too am looking for a solution to this issue with my Eonon GA2154. It has a menu option to set the ACC OFF shutdown delay from 5 seconds up to 2 hours, which is useful but I'd like the ability to set it to NEVER or 36-48 hrs so it only is off when I am away from the car for several days to avoid battery drain. Startup times on these kind of units are too long at the moment to be useful in a car.

tomtom Nav5 and high battery consumption with PDA Off

Upgraded from Nav3 to 5 which is working great except that the PDA will not power off automatically with Nav5 running. Also even if I manually switch the PDA off the battery consumption is very high (runs flat overnight). I'm not using bluetooth or WLAN and they are definately off. I don't have any other app's running.
Anyone else have this problem or suggest a workaround?
If I Stop the Nav5 application then power functions as normal but being forgettful it's hard to remember to do this every time!
Of course Tomtom support have been as useless as ever!!
It maybe dumb to suggest, but....
...do you 'Exit Application' when you've finished using TTN5?
If you don't, it will keep polling the Serial Port for your GPS reciever, and thus the handset won't fully 'stand-by' as serial activity will drain power.
I use TTN5, and as long as I exit, I have still got around 2 days out of a battery, with 'careful' usage.
No offence intended at all in this post - just perhaps highlighting the obvious!
R.
You are correct that exiting (ie Stopping) the application resolves the battery drain but I was using TTN3 previously with a serial receiver and that happily shut down when the PDA was off and did not need stopping.
Also with TTN5 running it stops the PDA switching off automatically, I have to switch off with the power switch.
I have an XDA II and M2000. i have the battery drain problem on both. i exit the app like i am supposed to, but when i start the device in the morning it has completely run flat! in the task manager there is nothing running when i put the device in standby...
any further thoughts?
i am using tomtom v5.21 and the latest roms.
Maybe do a scriptlike "shotdown all" before it goes into it's nightsleep
But i don't see a problem in shutting down TTN5 if you don't use it...
I don't even see a problem in switching off the Radio if i'm not listening etc. No pun intended, but if a programm keeps running it's pretty likely it drains the battery. You're just lucky if it doen't...

GPS (power?) problem since 6.5 upgrade.

Hope someone on here can help. I use a topo map software called "Memory Map" when i go out walking, hiking. While my TP2 was running 6.1 the app worked fine. However, since i put 6.5 (Energy Rom) onto the phone, i've run into a problem.
As long as the screen is turned on, the gps is working and tracking just fine. But as soon as the screen is turned off, or goes to ''standby', the GPS also seems to go to sleep. I turn the screen back on, and after a couple of seconds, the GPS also kicks back in and starts tracking again.
99% certain its a 6.5 issue. Memory map has worked fine for the last 2 years on my old beater QTEK 9100, and was working on the TP2 when it was 6.1. By 'working', i mean i could fire up the app, put the phone in my pocket, whip it out 1/2 hour later and the map would show where i had walked and where i was now.
I don't have that now. If i pull the phone out and turn on the screen, the 'track' jumps from where i last had the screen on to where i am now. As i said, the GPS seems to have to gone to sleep with the screen.
Any ideas, settings i might need to look for?
Thanks.

I'm having the exact same issue, screen isn't responding and won't switch off, despite how long I hold in the power button.
Anyone got any suggestions?
Same here. Someone can help?
Ok, mine eventually died.
Whatever happened was draining the battery as the watch was warm the whole time (instead of my normal 2-3 days, it died in around 4-5 hours).
Plus point is that after plugging it in to charge, it switched back on and is currently working fine, it's sitting on my desk charging now. However am more than a little concerned about this happening again.
I've had same issue twice - first time when installing TWRP recovery (understandable ) and today having a lot of saves to watch creating a watch face. Both times reacting like,

I think there is a memory leak in software.
I've had a major issue where the watch turns off local Bluetooth after getting hot. The only way to turn Bluetooth on again is to turn the watch off and then charge to 100%, last turn on again and then reconnect.
This started after the 5.0.1 Update.

The same issue
Hi!
I have the same issue. Sony SW 3 is connected to Sony Xperia Z Ultra. This issue is the second one, the first time I managed to reset SSW 3 by long pressing (about 10-20 seconds) the button on the watch.
I've got the same problem but screen is off. I cannot wake it (or turn it ON). I was charging it, it was turned off, after 30 mins of changing it vibrate, I unplugged it and now it seems dead. What can I do? t
Try long press the power button?

yes i do. Probably solved the problem. I don't know why but, also if in charge, my watch reached 0% on battery, so it wasn't unable to load up. This morning tried to turn it on (yesterday it woke up for 2 sec, after it died, plugging in into charge was a waste of time) , and in the few second it turned on (in the bootlogo), i put it into charge. Now seems to work but that's quite strange because yesterday i put it on charge when it was about 10%
My SW3 hanged again this morning, i charge it overnight and when i unplugged the charger, it hanged.
as usually, nothing can reset the watch until it burn out the battery. it really annoying and i hope google or sony will fix this soon.
I had it happen once to me too, I wonder if there is some sort of memory leak or some other issue.
I have not been in the habit of powering off my watch but maybe a good idea?
I had the exact same issue was skipping through song then it froze waited 4hrs for battery to drainn
drain turned it back on and it said 0% battery so I reset it and it said 2% battery but every now and then it freezes and I have to reset it holding power for 15 sec also I notice more lag in lollipop and it did freeze on me not too long ago
The 5.0.1 Lollipop Wear update is a piece of sh!t. My Smartwatch3 was rock solid until it came along.
- Currently waiting for the battery to drain so it can come to life again...

Prestigio multipad wize 3407 4g car install, cant turn on

Hello guys, i came to a problem, i have installed the prestigio multipad wize 3407 4g in my car. I used FCC Car launcher as an explorer and tasker for automatically waking and sleeping the tablet, when he receives power from the car. Almost everything worked fine except sometimes the tablet alone just muted the media volume which i don´t have a clue why ? If somebody does , your welcome to help However, when the tablet run of battery i could not turn it on again. Just to be clear, to made the tablet turn automatically on when he will ran out of battery , i edited the file kpoc_charger with this:
#!system/bin/sh
/system/bin/reboot
It worked good just as I wanted because when i turned him off and connected to charger, he showed the battery icon for a second and booted up. However when i finally installed him in car and he ran out of battery when i was away from the car, he was not able to boot up again. All he did when he got electricity was that he showed battery icon and tried to boot up, but he didnt make it. I think it happens because he dont have any power in battery (in reserve) for the boot proces. I tried to let him charge from the wall charger through the night but it did not help. After some time when i tried to manually turn it on he will completely refuse (looks like he dont have any power in battery at all), and only will show battery icon for a microsecond. Can somebody please help me how to bring him to live again and what to do to overcome this? Thanks

Boot phone when battery is detect (like APCI on PC's)

Hello!
I have a Android phone (SG S4mini) that i put on my car to work with TorqueOBD2 and GMaps apps.
I'm from Salvador, Bahia, Brasil and here is super very hot place. And so, to avoid start a fire on my veichle I remove the phone baterry, put a Buck Converter (12v for 3.7v) and connect on post ignition key, direct on baterry terminals (soldering)
All works perfect for a long time till now. But my only problem is: i need manually turn on the phone every time I turn on the car.
So, I need a way to automatic turn on my phone on when voltage (or current) is detect on baterry.
Just to be clear, is not boot when charging, because I do not use the charge port. Is BOOT WHEN VOLTAGE/CURRENT IS DETECTED ON BATERRY TERMINALS.
Plz I really need help!
