https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aHkZu339mU, this teardown shows it's allmost impossble without breaking the screen.
couple videos online show the screen removed without breaking it including one from the kid who submerged his Pixel in water for 30 minutes and took his apart so he could dry of the condensation that built up on camera lens after a few days. Just seems like the iFixit people were in to big of a hurry to pry the screen off.

I went swimming with my HTC Desire (It didn't like it). I've left my phone in a bowl of rice, on top of my boiler for 24 hours, I believe most of the moisture has gone but between the screen protector and the AMOLED screen there is a large amount of visible water. I'm not very comfortable with removing the back cover and working my way to the front by disassembling the phone. So I was wondering, its a long shot, if I can just remove the front panel of the phone without going through the whole disassembling process. That way I can remove the water, and clean off the moisture marks.
If this is not possible, has anyone got any other ideas to how I could remove this water without disassembling my whole phone?
A week would be better! 24 hours is not long enough
Most phones are designed so there is only one way to get inside...through the void stickers at the back.
Get the right tools. Take your time. Be gentle. Be carefull. Remember where everything goes and do it the hard way.
If your lucky you'll only have one or two screws left when its all back together.
There is an excellent guide on this forum somewhere with lots of pictures that can help.
Disassembling and blowing the water out ASAP is the safest option dude.. do no delay.
i take it you have no insurance coverage?
Nope :/
Got a good guide for disassembling?
Disassembled. Water removed. Hair dryer from huge distance to remove any more. Put back together. Won't turn on.
Oh well, time to shell out

swimming?
Ouch..Ouch..OUCH!!!!
What kind of water was it? If it was actually a swimming pool with chlorine etc then you should have rinsed it in deionized water then disassembled it and got the water out then left it in a bowl of rice for at least a week.
I think the damage will already have been done by trying to switch it on.

So i dropped my beautiful one X in water today ( 3 seconds )
The second i took it out of the water, i dried it with my shirt, pried off the glass and mopped up the insides.
Then i put the motherboard and front screen assembly in the over at 60 degrees ( Celsius ) for 10 minutes.
There is condensation between the glass and LCD.
Does anyone know if this will clear up after a week or two ?? or should i order a completely new assembly and install it ?

If the moisture is trapped it could take forever to get out, maybe take apart as much as possible and use a hair dryer on it, not too hot.
Good luck!

I don't want to separate the LCD and digitizer because it's very fragile..
It's doing everything as normal.. charging, making calls, everything works 100%
Just the blotches of water under the glass :\
I'm thinking it'll be there for a while....
you could buy one of these

I think if you put the hair dryer on the screen for like 15-30 minutes it should evaporate completely, just make sure the hairdryer is not too hot.

Try that, it even tells you when their is no more moisture in the atmosphere (bag).
It will start blue, go to pink whilst its working, and then when it has completely drawn out any moisture located in the phone/bag, it will return back blue.
When that happens, your phone should be fine.
GOOD LUCK !
Recently, I Was cleaning my G3 with a wet towel. Unfortunately water caused some problems on my phone (Restarting every 2-3 mins, Power Button Doesnt work). Can you suggest me some Solutions to fix it (i think LG Doesnt accept water damage)? Now my phone is in a Bowl Full of rice.
You could try tearing it down and leaving everything to dry out, or dry it out with a hair dryer or something. If you search on YouTube there's disassembly videos on it
Take out the battery and put the phone inside an air sealed plastic launch box with rice on top of the phone. wait a couple of days until it will take out all the moisture.
It surprises me that that amount of water causes problems on the G3. Mine already had contact with lots of water in various situations.
The best thing in such cases is to put it into isopropanol for a couple of hours, turning it around several times and letting it dry afterwards (Without the battery of course)
Hello guys,
I had an accident where I spilled liquid on top of my phone's screen, it was alcohol based, so it got through the bottom speaker and went to the screen layers. After a couple of days of trying to dry it out, there are still terrible looking streaks that look like water damage. I tried using a hair dryer and a suction tool from my car mount for the phone, to remove the screen, but it won't budge. This method worked easy with my old Nexus 5. Some heat, I pull up and it comes right off. With this - I heated as much as I can, and then pulled with all my strength, but screen will not come loose from the frame.
Has anyone removed the screen on their phone, or does anyone have experience in doing such things, to help me pull this off?
I believe that if I manage to remove the screen, and clean the layers, screen should be back to 100%.
I asked a friend of mine to lend me his heat gun, but I am afraid of applying too much heat and killing the LCD, or doing bad things to the plastic body of the phone.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Have you checked out the dismantle video on youtube? I believe you have to go through the back.

NO! I know how ti disassemble the phone... What you are posting doesn't even include the screen separation from the frame.
I have been watching videos a lot, but I myself, after following them, am unable to separate screen from frame. And to be fair there is just 1-2 videos out there that actually show people doing that. In one a dude used heat, a suction tool and a precision knife to lift the screen from the frame. I don't think using a metal tool on a heated plastic, to lift a glass is a good idea, especially when the adhesive is so strong. I guess the screen from that video has already been removed, that is why it looked so doable. I bet if I try that, I will f*ck up my pristine frame (phone is 1,5 months old)
You have to go through the back. See link https://youtu.be/Y8XpqwLsrUo
Same problem here, I cannot manage to separate the screen from the frame. Did you manage to remove it?
I broke that damn glass into pieces from the back holes, allowing me to insert a guitar plectrum and finally remove it all. Fixed
I'm planning to replace battery that saw better times and cracked front panel at the same time, but is it actually worth to replace it?
1. Screen on time is pretty bad it's less than 3h (~2h 30mins or 2 full charges/day), rarely it will reach 3h. I simply browse web, listen to music and watch some stuff on YT. Also it can discharge on standby randomly, it will simply get massive battery drain for no reason (which happens more often, but still randomly).
2. The crack on the screen seems to be a bigger issue than I expected. While gray line on top of screen disappeared, it slowly start to crumbling under fingers near hit spot and around bigger cracks. Digitizer wasn't damaged after all so it's just glass on front panel. Is it better to get just glass or entire front panel with digitizer and is it worth to buy and disassemble entire device for these two?
Warranty won't cover physical damaged so if I want to get rid of them I have to make it on my own or pay LG but I don't want to.
I would I need a new battery for mine I get 3 to 3 and half hour mixed usage.but it's cheap and easy to replace parts on this
Changing the battery requires a bit of time since you have to pry the case open and the battery is glued in. I used a hairdryer, carefully, to remove my old battery.
I worked to improve my screen on time, and in two separate tests I got 6.5 - 7 hrs, running video.
Changing just the outer screen is a real pain; it took me quite a while, but ultimately it worked fine. I think I would replace the entire screen assembly, rather than just the outer screen.
