Can't downgrade G3 from Marshmallow to Lollipop - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Backstory: My G3 was hard bricked and I got it working using board diag and a 4.4 TOT file...
After that, I mistakenly flashed a Marshmallow ROM (Global D85530B_00_1217.kdz) using LGUP tool.
Now, I want to downgrade it to 5.0 or 5.1. But no matter what Lollipop ROM I use (I've tried UK D85520I and D85520H, N Europe D85520F and some others), I can't get them to work.
The problem is the they flash fine but always get stuck on boot (on LG logo). *
When I flash the 6.0 ROM again, it boots without any problems.
What am I doing wrong? How can I fix this?

If the kdz file is successful installed and you get a bootloop...
Remove the battery ..put it back and boot again.....

That was my first to go solution but it in this case, it doesn't have any effect. It boots right to the same point and gets stuck.

[Q] P936 update to different country's firmware?

Hi I have LG P936 (Optimus TrueHD) in New Zealand.
however, according to LG, the P936 phone is not supposed to be on sale in NZ (although I bought it at a certified electronics shop), so I am not getting any updates, even though there are official ICS update in Portugal and Germany which uses the same radio band/frequency.
1. Is there a way to update my phone to a different country's firmware through the LG Mobile Support Tool or OTA?
2. Does anyone know which country's firmware (either Portugal or Germany) will work best in NZ?
You can get baseband/firmware here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1842763
As far as which one? I don't know, just start with one and try. These will work with any ROM. As most ROMs don't include the radio.

I have been there and it's only baseband flashing, not firmware.

I just double checked. You need to click on download on the first post. The file server that it takes you to all have baseband/firmware in the file name.

wait I thought firmware = rom... or it's inside the rom or whatever.
i meant i was looking for a way to install different country's ICS update on my 2.3.6 phone.

Try this: http://lg-phone-firmware.com/firmware-Lg+Optimus+True+HD+LTE-Tutti-17.html
Now you will need a kdz installer available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2149211
You won't have root, or the ability to install custom roms but it is a least a start.

Thanks for trying to help me but I've already tried the kdz flash tool but no matter who's tutorial I follow and which ones i download, the flash tool self crashes so I have never succeeded with the flash tool. Yes I have drivers installed. Yes I have whatever needed installed... The tool keeps crashing. windows7.
That is why I was asking for way to update my phone using the LGMobile Support Tool or OTA.

Ok, does the LG mobile support tool say your up to data? If it does, you should be able to click on help, then emergency. And flash it that way. Or download the v18f exe file, run it, then see if the LG mobile support tool says you have an update. There is no ota for ics.

Root...

Hello, yesterday I had rooted LG G3 with Cloudy G3 and TWRP Recovery installed. But I "flashed" Stock Firmware (KDZ) 21A Europe (IMEI CHECK) And now I cant root my mobile successfully, It means if i want root i must go back to like 20T and other versions?
EDIT: Rooted with KingRoot and TWRP recovery flashed with LG G3 Auto-rec Lollipop app from GP.
Try to root using the first method in this thread...

If the first method doesn't work for you, then attempt to root using the second method.

If you are on lollipop and you rooted without unlocking the bootloader, you can unroot by writing a kdz on lollipop rendering the phone clean, then you send it. There will be noting to see for the lg service.

It is because the locked bootloader will not allow the phone to boot if the recovery, system or boot (kernel) have not the exact checksum that it expects.

its still not clear to me... if you have unlocked bootloader, can you have root and recovery for 6.0 MM. casue i think i read some post saying if you want root and twrp then go back to 5.1.1.
is it because they havent found a way or MM cant be rooted? sorry if am not getting this right . nut i rather ask then to not know.
To make it clear: if you have unlocked bootloader you can do anything - install twrp, root etc. If you have locked bootloader you can only root in 5.1, you cannot root in 6.0. With locked bootloader you can not have twrp either in 5.1 or 6.
I hope it is clearer now.

Morning!Buf if the device is on bootloop i can still flash a kdz with lg up?is it possible?
It depends, most of them can, as the download mode does not require a lot of power and the big cores are not in use, but some could not connect the phone with lgup

One way is using kingoroot, then install SuperSU thru play store and make it install normally, then get autorec for mm and reboot to recovery

If you have lollipop installed and rooted your device you could install TWRP and disable them from here instead.
But this requires that you have installed TWRP in FIsH before so it doesn't work when your device bootloops already
