In Settings Tap About Phone then tap Build Number about 7 times. Can't remember the exact number of times. Dev options will be added.

[Q] Display on when plugged in

Hi guys,
I am new to Android, being a long time winmo guy.
I use my phone for music in the car, one thing that annoys me is the display timing out.
In Winmo you could choose the display behaviour based on battery or plugged in. I've searched but can't find anything similiar on the Desire.
Is there anything I have hopefully missed???

[Q] Phone's camera stops recording after 10 minutes.

Hi guys, I'm having a problem with my xperia play when trying to record conferences.
My camera stops after 10 minutes of recording everytime, it even shows the timer backwards when it's the last minute, I was wondering if there is any way to lift this limitation.
I'm currently using the default camera application that comes with 2.3.4 North America generic ROM.
I got a 12GB memory card with around 3.2GB free and the video files take up to 400mb per 10 minutes, so the space shouldn't be a problem here.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks!
Maybe your phones is going to sleep?
Have you tried disabling sleep timeout?

Hmm I wasn't aware that the phone had a sleep option, I can't seem to find it. Only time outs I could find if the screen display which is set to 30 seconds, so I guess that's not it.
Where can I find the options to disable the phone from sleeping?
Thanks.
Actually thats probably what I was thinking.
One thing you could try, when it gets close to 10 minutes, push a button on your phone, nothing to make it stop recording, maybe the settings button, just something to make sure it isn't a problem like this.

I did that and the phone responded perfectly, even changed some options while recording but it still stops at 10 minutes. The strange thing is when it gets to minute nine the counter changes backwards to count 1 minute in red numbers then it stops recording.
Maybe try a different phone app?

[Q] delay when pressing the power button to awake the device

so my galaxy note 2 is with me for more than a month now and ever since i got it when i press the power button to wake up the device ( at least some times ) it takes 1-3 sec to wake and some other times its quick and responsive , its really annoying .. you know some times you are in a hurry and u want to write a number or something or you want to show-off to your friends and it disappoint you with the delay to wake up
is there some thing to do with the ROM or is there an app or some touchwiz things that prevent the device from waking up instantly or its a hardware thing
and here is a vid

If the device is taking 1-2 seconds to wake up then it's NORMAL. Rather you should be happy because the unit is having perfect deep sleep. When you see instant wake up you should know that something is running on background. Again, this is COMPLETELY NORMAL.
Some Nexus people say that they don't notice any lag, well I don't own a Nexus (don't like them), so I don't give a damn.

I am not experiencing this.
Anyway if it has to do with deep sleep you could use wake my droid app
No pal. The fix will be to keep something running on background, lol, anything that violates deep sleep will make the phone to wake up instantly. But then you know how much battery drain will occur.
So, the only solution is, get used with it.

Is how exynos quad core chips work. . Deep sleep to conserve battery... takes times for the cores to get worked up ..get used to it and enjoy the battery. .its a small annoyance
handwritten from my note 2 (N7100)
You could try to change something in the developer option as per the pic attached. Hope it could help. I have changed somethings in this funtion and disable the opening Svoice by home button. Now not any delay when pressing the home button any more

a free app called Screebl from the play store will. You can set it so that anytime the device is not flat, the screen will stay on.
I have used it for at least 5 years!
I use mimimum timeout setting and when I lay the phone flat on a desk, or table, the screen goes off in about 5 seconds!
great way to save the battery time....
Good Luck and Aloha!
Thanks for the reply. I just downloaded the app and check it out.

screen sleep issue

So let me know if you have the same issue... No matter how long I set my screen off time for, it always goes go sleep after 10 seconds!
Don't have that issue here. ATT version
I do not have that issue either (AT&T). Perhaps there is an email account or other "administrator" that requires a short screen timeout? I have seen that before.

Are you talking about the main screen or the active display when the actual screen goes off?

The main screen. I turned moto display off and it still happens
I ever tried rebooting into safe mode and same problem.. Going to try a factory reset later
My motoz2 is doing this same thing. And it is frustrating. (Verizon). Have you figured out how to fix this?
Do you have adaptive brightness turned on?

So I did a master reset and didn't connect my tumi battery until the play store updated the moto mod app to the newest version.. No more screen issue! I highly recommend anyone who gets this phone, update the app first before you attach any type of mod.
