Got my Kindle with cm11 pre-installed from previous owner
CM 11-20140714-2309-jem-sgt7 4.4.4
when i got tablet in my hands it was ok, i didnt noticed anything so i made factory reset,
after reboot i noticed super laggy ui, even wake up button: screen lights up only after 4-5 seconds of power button press
i tried to increase min cpu speed and other things, but it does nothing
kindle playes videos just fine but system ui feels slow and unusable
i turned processor stats and sometimes when device "freezing" i see a big blue bar - its the something with io?
im also tested it with antutu and get strange results for RAM - only 39 points (screenshot included) wut
can someone please test kindle with cm11 in antutu and post results?
What kind of troubleshoot i can do? Re-flash device with fresh cm?
I tried today cm12.1 and cm-11-20150607-NIGHTLY and nothing helps
Its probably hardware promblem, but i dont know how to detect this

Okay does any one have this same problem or am i just doing something wrong?
Every time i let my kindle sit with the screen off after about 30 minutes or so, and I assume it keeps going and getting stuck in sleep mode but the only way for me to get it turned back on is to do the whole power button for 20 seconds and then reboot. Am I not being patient enough with it or is there some trick to getting the screen back on that i haven't found yet? Because I've tried multiple different things and there isn't a disable sleep mode option in my rom just the option to extend the time, even though its pretty much useless. But can anyone help me with this?
what rom are you on?
Right now I'm on Hell Fire 1.1 but last week i was running CM9 Reloaded and it did the same exact thing.
I was going to give a long speech about how people need to READ before installing any new roms but considering the Hellfire thread doesn't list what works and what doesn't, I guess it's not entirely your fault
It's called "sleep of death" (SOD). Some ICS roms have problems with it and some don't. The same could be said about certain individual devices. You could boost your minimum CPU usage to 600Mhz or more, or try a different rom. Though, it should be noted that changing your CPU settings will affect battery life.
okay that makes sense i had no idea that most of the new roms have problems with it. but I'll probably try to up the min cpu usage i suppose the difference between 600 MHz and 300 MHz isn't going to be a true killer for the amount i use it but which rom or roms would you recommend? That don't have this problem I'd really like to try barebones but every time i try to flash it my Kindle goes crazy so i gave up on trying with it.
Well being I can't post on the development board I guess I will have to post my rom bugs here.
So I hope that thegreatergood will see it here.

BUGS
1) Either the new hardware keyboard lights fix by scottbot95 doesn't work or it wasn't included in this rom. I can see the hardware keyboard lights still come on while the keyboard is closed when the capacitive buttons are used. This leads me to believe that the new patch wasn't applied to rom.
2) Bluetooth still not working in regards to audio in, but audio out works and voice dialer no longer screams in your ear.
Confirmed Fixes
LiteKernel-4.2-20130212
1) Battery life... I have no app but the default battery app.
If the use by the kernel would be measured under Android System, then I think there is an issue.
Android System is at 27% after 45 minutes of use while screen is only at 23%.
This correlates unscientifically to what I witnessed in CM10.1 with LiteKernel-4.2-20130211 after 5 hours of pretty regular use playing games, backing up, downloading, and etc. Android System was almost equal with screen on battery usage.
I believe this to be a bug because before I upgraded while using LiteKernel-4.2-20130120, the screen usage was easily double the usage of Android System, under similar use patterns.
I am flashing back to CM10.1 and will test this more under daily driver.
2) The WIFI power manager, am I just missing where to turn it off? I am sorry and the work you do is amazing thegreatergood but it has to be one of the most annoying things I have ever encountered.

1) I had the same issue... But i checked and some times there is a process that tries to turn on the screen, and keeps doing it forever, until you reboot the phone... I use pop up notifications from whatsapp and this happens alot... but sometimes you realize to late.. and the battery is already gone....
2) The same with you... It is really annoying... I already read in a post from dmans.. that he will put an option to disable that...
Phone: Rooted Samsung s3
Rom: CM10.1.2
Kernal: Kt747
Battery: 4200 mah extended battery
My phone is freezing like all the other threads on here but mine only does it during gameplay I've tried different roms but all were the same, right now my current setup has the least freezes but it still freezes a lot. I've done everything correctly when flashing, wiped everything completely and I also tried everything that other people on this forum has suggested. I've tried Lagfix trim app, Dummy file generator, seeder, kernal tweaks, turning off sync, adjusting wifi settings. Nothing has worked! I've even let my phone sit there for about 3 hours to let it unfreeze itself to see if that would help, but it didn't help. My freezes are different, when it freezes I can go back into the home screen within seconds and when I get back into the game, everything is fine but it will freeze again after 30 seconds. Other than that, my phone runs insanely smooth and fast.
Does anyone know what is wrong with my phone? and how to fix this problem? or any other possible solutions?
P.S: I know it's not a memory problem either, I have a bit over 11gb of free space on internal memory and 4gb on SD.

Check your kernel settings. Could be a voltage or governor issue. If that doesn't work, flash the kernel again or try another one. Are you running a nightly or stable release of Cm? Also, do a nand and flash a stock rom and see if you have the same issue.

Yes it's a stable release of cm, also I tried flashing it again but no luck. The governor is on ondemand setting. I've also tried a lot of other new things and it worked a bit better but still freezes. Anyone else with suggestions?
Also, I don't know how to mess with the voltage.. Lol it just looks like numbers to me..

Yesterday i decided try Clean Rom on my SGH I317M Note 2 and before i flash the new Rom, i did a benchmark using Antutu.
The stock Rom with most bloatware remove was hitting numbers up to 21000, for some reason after installing Clean Rom Ace 5.0 no matter what i do it wont pass the 16k line and is really weird cause with Clean Rom is using less memory, it has less apps on.
I went and checked the cpu clock and put the min mhz to match the previous setup and yet it wont go past 16500. Power saving was off when testing and no program besides Antutu was on.
I really want to know why the low numbers when you can see clearly that Clean Rom is consuming less resources. Thanks in advance.

Benchmarks are pointless as they are not indicative of day to day use.

benchmarks are not useless, they have their place
compare your Antutu results in more detail, which section caused you to lose 5000 points?

You may want to take this complaint to Scott's website but I doubt you will be satisfied since he stopped supporting this device.

Thanks for the reply guys, i currently don't have a picture of data of the benchmark done with the stock Rom, however i took pics of a benchmark i did moments ago.
Here an stability test result. Dunno if this helps.
This is weird... i turned off Air view and did the test again, the score went up to 20145. The weird part is that the power saving feature seems broken cause when i did the test with the feature on it did a better score which was 20675.
I have no idea on what its going on with the phone at the moment but it seems related to the power saving mode.
Testing again today found outthat the score again dropped to 16447 with a change in the phone. Multitask score went down almost by 1.3k, same with Dalvik.
Update
Testing all weak and i think i found the cause of the performance drop on my phone. For some reason i was playing Real Racing 3 when i found the game was getting a little slow in fps terms. So i went and deleted cache and dalvik, then after reboot i started playing again and is was running really neat and fast!
I decided to run Antutu again and to my surprise the phone was benchmark at 20700 constantly. Then i did the test again but with power saving on just to mark how much performance will drop with the feature on. The test came up with 16221 on benchmark, once again i wanted to test the phone with the feature off and after turning it off and waiting a couple of minutes did the test again.
The odd thing i found is that is was bench marking as if the power saving feature was on! 16000+ on all tests!! So again... went and deleted the dalvik and cache just to test again. After reboot, turned on Antutu and tested 4 times in a row, guess what? all test were 20k+!!!
Does this mean the power saving feature is broken?
First of all, Hi everyone - chefs, users and admins!
I am writing this post with a really heavy heart now, almost bleeding experience happened to me from nowhere about 2 months ago. I feel quite an advanced "flashoholic", however I've broke up with that few years ago. In 2013 I sold my Note 2 and started "new life" with Android, bought a DSLR and engaged into photography. This year, in february I have bought a tablet as I needed really something for business purposes, and I have chosen a Tab S 10.5 LTE. I didn't ever hear about any Knox tripping or anything, and as soon as it arrived I flashed a AOSP ROM to my thingie as I love AOSP overall. Than strange things started to happen with my CPU. As I recall I have noticed it first after installing Xposed to the tablet - it started heating pretty badly. When I checked my CPU states through ROM Toolbox etc I noticed it sometimes freezes at frequencies around 1.7-1.9 GHz, and during this behavior max frequencies could even fluctuate from 1.7 to 1.8, 1.9 and so on. It looks like "something" changes max frequency setting of CPU as it wants, whenever it wants to and pushes usage to the maximum.
Now, I started to look for a fix - uninstalled Xposed, every root apps etc. Nothing stopped it. I was "pretty sure" the cause is in AOSP thing and the conflict between my hardware and custom AOSP Roms. So after 2 months of tryouts to solve the problem, I today reflashed TW to "finally" get rid if this and save my battery life. What shocked me was... the bug is still here! Even with 0 apps installed, all ROM stock and clean, my CPU goes crazy, the back is hot, and CPU monitoring apps show a hard usage of 1.9 and 1.8 GHz frequencies. At this point I started to panic.
To mention - before I posted this here, tried to search over xda, googling it and so on, but it seems noone has such problem anywhere! As long as I know I can't get my warranty back, and I feel really panic and don't know what to do. I am asking experienced devs or anyone who faced it before for some help, on my knees. This tablet is great, but pretty useless when my battery hits 20% after 4 hours!
EDIT
I snapped a screenshot of some kernel options I don't understand, however someone maybe would find any wrong input here (as I can change them thanks to the app). Thanks. PS. I have changed max fr tp 550 in order to avoid heating and battery drainage, to this moment thayt's the only way I know to stop it.
Thank you very much for any help and advices, and sorry for my bad english.
/K.Z.
Try installing Watchdog, and in the setting include phone and all other process monitoring, see if it can locate what is taxing your cpu.

Hi John, it looks like that option doesn't work. I see that none of apps exceeds CPU usage over 10%, but the clock still goes on 1.7GHz etc. Sometimes it cools down, but it happens rarely.
Did you adjust the setting to monitor all phone processes, even if you have an wifi only tablet still do this.
John.

Sure, but the app doesn't seem to have any options button anywhere, just 3 tabs... sorry. However I can see it is monitoring all system apps also, if it helps.
it`s been a while, i will install it on my T800

Hold the button left of the home button down to get the settings, the left touchkey button hold it down to get settings.
John.
Thanks but umm.. nothing happens. Tried holding down task switch capacitive button for few seconds on every tab, but it just goes to task switch view.
Strange, I just hold the button down and within 2 seconds the strip along the bottom of the display appears, maybe you are in the wrong mode, there are three section on the top of the screen, you need to select the far left one called STATS.

VERY strange. I did it on all 3 tabs, just nothing happens. Is it possible that app changes maximum frequency of my CPU? I don't believe any app has possibility to do it on it's own...
Have you tried it again with watchdog on the same screen in my screenshot then press the button, watchdog does not change cpu frequency.
John.
I used to have the same problem on AOSP roms and some Touchwiz roms! When you first flash it and set things up, CPU usage is fine. But after a few days maybe hours, CPU would do the same exact thing like yours! Then my device gets hot and drains battery.
I found this to be a problem with AOSP 5.1.1 roms. Resurrection remix, CM12, PAC ROM and yeah. Never had problems on Cm11. The only ROM that solved my heating issues and no cpu problems are AOSP roms on 5.0.2 or Liquid Smooth rom. 5.0.2 was bug free. Liquid Smooth ROM has an custom kernel which helps cool down the device and reduce the high CPU usage. Seems to be the only ROM without issues for me on 5.1.1. For Touchwiz roms, I just install skyhigh kernel and turn on hotplugging and CPU multicore power saving to solve heat issues. But really on Touchwiz roms, CPU is fine most of the time for me.
My device is SM-T800 BTW. This is what I found out from flashing many roms.
