Hello there. So I made a quick search here about this problem, and it seems that many people complain that after installing Cyanogenmod, speaker makes this buzz noise. Well, I just installed Cyanogenmod 11 to my Galaxy Ace II (I8160) and I noticed that when I play a song I can also hear a buzz noise, after I pause it, the noise stays there for 2 sec and then it goes away. This happens everytime the speaker is activated, even when the volume off, for example, when playing games, even tho the volume is down (at 0) I still can hear that noise.
It doesn't seem to be a hardware problem, because it occurred right after I installed the new rom. I have tried installing another equalizer (besides DSP which comes preinstalled) , and even trying some odd solutions like turning off the system sounds. I don't know what else to do, but for sure I don't wanna go back to CM 10.2 or stock rom. So is there any solution?
p.s sorry for my bad english

I've had my DHD since they came out last November and I've had no real issues with it in all that time. However, I've now got a hugely annoying issue with sound where all sound, ringtones, music etc, comes through distorted at max volume where before it was clear. The obvious suggestion is to turn the volume down but even two steps down from max. volume it still happens depending on the sound coming from the speaker. I don't know how else to describe it except perhaps tearing and that doesn't sound very accurate to what is happening.
I don't remember when this first started happening but I'm pretty sure it was a few months ago and I was using a Sense based ROM at the time. The issue got so bad that instead of playing distorted sound in Sense it would just cut out and all sound would stop for what seemed like two or three minutes. Switching to CM7 has prevented it cutting out but the distortion is still there so I don't think it's related to a specific ROM unless it's a volume boost that was done over all ROM builds. As anyone who owns a DHD will know the audio has always been a little on the quiet sound but the level I have the volume at now is below what I'm comfortable with.
Can anyone offer a suggestion on how to fix this audio issue? It's almost to the point now where I'm thinking of going back to stock and sending it in for repairs. Don't make me do that.. you know it's not a fun process.
I'm only replying to this in case anyone has similar issues so they can see my resolution. Unfortunately it's gotten worse, to the point that I lost all sound on all ROMs bar a few squeaks from the speaker. The in-call speaker worked fine and I could make calls with no issue but no notifications, alerts, alarms etc would sound on the external speaker.
I flashed back to stock Gingerbread and I've sent my phone off to HTC, via T-Mobile UK, to be repaired. I'm also hoping they fix the misaligned camera issue too. I'm a little worried because despite trying I could not get S-ON back before I took it in but it's using stock bootloader and an HTC RUU ROM. Anyway, I'm basically saying that it's a bad sign and will have to go in for repairs. Hopefully this will save anyone from wondering in the future if they get the same sort of issue.
I'm having the same problem.. I think.. if you are talking about the speaker that you make the phonecalls with.. not the "external" speaker.. that works fine..
it has a crackling sound with mine.
Sounds like the external speaker is busted. You already send it to repair, probably that's the only solutions.
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I tried searching for the problem but it appears that most of the results that come up regarding in call audio issues were the microphone cutting out.
However, the problem i've been experiencing is for long phone calls with my gf, the audio that i hear on the receiving end seems to go in and out. What i mean is, the call will start out normally and everything sounds crystal clear, but after maybe 20 min, my gf begins to sounds really muffled as if she were talking to her phone from across the room instead of having the phone against her face. After a while the audio becomes loud and clear again.
She claims to hear me fine throughout the call, but it becomes almost impossible to make out what she's saying even on max volume (with and without the headphones too). Im not sure if it's an issue with my phone or hers (an iPhone 4s). I've had this issue on 4.0.2, and 4.0.4. I'm now running AOKP's 4.0.3 ROM and the problem still persists. Any help anyone? this is really annoying, esp for a long distance relationship!
So I've been browsing the forums trying to look for anyone with a similar issue but to no avail. Now I'm not sure if this issue pertains to CM9 but I've noticed that ever since I've flashed RC1 or a later nightly, every app that uses the microphone reverts the phone speaker to call speaker. This is highly irritating as I have to put my ear to the phone every time I want to hear say, music, notifications etc. I usually reset this by plugging in a pair of headphones and then taking it back out, however the problem still persists every time I use the mic. This does not happen during calls so that's fine.
I am quite certain that this isn't hardware related because it only happens after using the microphone through some app and resets itself using the headphone workaround or a reboot. Again, I don't know if this is a singled out issue or if it pertains to the phone or the latest CM9 ROM.
Any help would be appreciated.
So after updating to RC2 and then again to the latest Nightly (20120802) I still have no luck with my loud speaker and my call speaker. To test this I usually use the Tune Me app and mess around with it and record some things but after using the app, instead of playing through the loud speaker like its supposed to, it plays audio through the call speaker.
Also, when I previewed CM10 and was playing around with Google Now with voice the same thing occurred. I don't know if there's a conflicting issue with some apps I've installed or something that installing the ROM did but any form of support would be appreciated.
Thanks.
So after searching around the web and installing different ROMs I cannot seem to fix an issue with my Verizon Galaxy Nexus. My volume on speaker will just go real low by itself when listening to music/spotify/tunein. Sometimes if I wait a few minutes it will come back on by itself. Other times it takes a battery pull to get volume back. Even just a reboot doesn't fix it. I've tried the tricks that have been posted in the forums but nothing seems to work. This is only with the speakerphone. Headphone jack works great all day long. Here are the ROMS I've tried with no help.
MmuzzyROM, CM10.1, paranoidandroid, AOKP
Is there a specific kernel that fixes this?
Thanks for the help.
Hi Im running Lineage OS (lineage-14.1-20170306-nightly-d855-signed) on my Lg G3 (d855), with latest TWRP and no superSU flashed
.
I have issues with in-call volume. The person Im talking to can only hear me if I speak "to" a specific place on my phone.
If I have headphones plugged in I have to hold my phone's top part to my mouth, if I don't have them plugged in I have to speak to the bottom part. Its really weird because when I speak to the proper place the audio is fine but if I try to speak to the other end the audio cuts out completely, no matter how loudly I shout.
It seems that the phone detects that Im speaking to the "wrong" microphone. And if the sound at the wrong microphone is louder it just silences me completely.
For example: If I shout into the bottom with headphones plugged in im completely silent for the other person, but if I whisper into the top Im completely audible.
Can someone please help? It's really annoying. Thanks!
I have the same problem (my voice is not heard by the caller). I have already edited build.prop, mixer_paths, and nothing worked. I used Magisk with an OPO-specific module and it did not work either.
Hey! I just bought a LG G3 and installed LineageOS. My Microphone does not work, too! I tried to record my voice with a recoding app. It was not possible to understand my voice, because the sound was like a massive scratching noise.
Are we really the first people finding this bug and there are no other people using the LG G3 with LineageOS?
Or maybe Kr3Ep, Aloquio and myself, we are just affected by a hardware fault?
I upgraded my Phone app by installing Google's phone app. Then I rebooted. This fixes the issue for me. (I'm on Lineage nightly on Samsung Galaxy S7).
I tried this and it didn't work. I'm surprised this hasn't been fixed yet.
