HTC One M9 RUU problem - One (M9) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all!
I have an HTC One M9. I tried to run an RUU for my phone earlier, but the RUU gave me an error 155. I searched for the solution and found that I needed to lock my bootloader. I locked my bootloader and got the relocked status. I tried running the RUU again and it still gave me the same error 155.
Unfortunately, relocking the bootloader wiped the android system and the TWRP recovery too, so that when I try to go into recovery mode, it gives the error, "Failed to boot into recovery mode."
I tried flashing a zip file using fastboot oem rebootruu and then, "fastboot flash zip rom.zip", and it gives an error like
"target reported max download size of 800000000 bytes
Invalid sparse file format at header magi"
So, I'm totally stumped now
If anyone can present any solutions, I'll be extremely grateful.

Fastboot Flashing

Hi, i'm trying to flash by using fastboot with command prompt. I can't flash anything by useing the recovery option in hboot because it keeps taking me back to the hboot menu.
Right. I extracted the rom.zip from the RUU Rom "testruu" which went okay, it has all the images, includeing the recovery image to get it working again. but when i type in "fastboot -p (serial number) update rom.zip" which the rom.zip is located in the sdk tools folder. it comes up with the error
"Whoops: didn't find expected signature
read_central_directory_entry failed
error: failed to access zipdata in "MS-DOS symbols.........."
Any ideas? i tried flashing other rom's but they don't contain the "android-info.txt" within the image zip package.....
Please help because my phone is 100% dead with no recovery working and stuck at the htc logo screen.
so no one knows how to flash in fastboot? well great.
Enter fastboot then plug Desire to your computer and run official RRU (*.exe file)
That should help
Cheers

Flashing boot.img in fastboot taking forever/not sending

Recently when I've been trying to flash in fastboot it either reads an error and fails sending the image (remote: not allowed), OR it hangs at "sending" forever.
Anyone else have this issue...?
Okay... i got it to work, but only by resubmitting the token to HTC and receiving a new unlock_code.bin.
then i tried to flash a different boot image and i had to do it again. hmm...

HTC One M8 Root failed - Australia

Hi there,
I have just tried to root my HTC one, and I am now stuck in the boot loader screen and it is showing *Tampered* at the top.
Can someone please advise me, or point in the direction of what I need to do now?
Thanks.
If it says tampered it should say unlocked right below it.... go to this site and follow the instructions to get full root. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2699065

Once you have unlocked your bootloader then it will show you tampered.
Download a custom recovery (I prefer TWRP) and flash it via fastboot.
Then download @Chainfire Supersu flashable zip from his site and flash it in recovery.
You have rooted your phone.
Ater placing my device into fastboot mode, I have tried flashing my downloaded TWRP file to my HTC One in Terminal using these instructions:
Now let's flash your downloaded TWRP file to your HTC One. Type one of the following commands into your terminal window, depending on which file you downloaded above.
For the International editions, type:
fastboot flash recovery Desktop/openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.2-m8.img
However I get the following error:
command not found
any help would be most appreciated.

hi,
plz try CWM, M8 got some issues with twrp.
philz_touch_6.26.6-m8.img is the stable version plz try that.
http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/m8
So I am starting to move forward :
I have followed the instructions to install philz_touch_6.25.5-m8.img by flashing it to my HTC where I get the setup screen for philz_touch_6.25.5-m8.img. I cleared the cache and I then installed the UPDATE-SuperSU-vx.xx.zip using the install zip from sdcard and then rebooted the HTC.
Unfortunately I have come back to the bootloader screen.
For what the instructions say it should be working now, but it does not seem to be?
Now it seems that whatever I try I cant seem to get past the bootloader....
And when I power down from the bootloader, It shuts down for a few minutes and then boots back into the bootloader.
Not sure what to do now?

is your problem similar to this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2784232
May be you are using the wrong version. If you have international device you should try international version of philz/cwm recovery.I would suggest you to use TWRP since it is basically meant for htc devices.

Soft Bricked HTC One M9! Please help!

Dear all,
I recently unlocked bootloader, rooted and flashed CandySix ROM on my M9. Everything was fine until I stupidily relock the bootloader (using fastboot oem lock). Then the phone can not boot into system and recovery also.
I tried to re-unlock again using the same method (Unlock_code.bin) from HTCdev. The cmd said success, i press Yes on the phone, however after reboot the status stayed the same "Relock". I did like 20 times but it was the same.
I also tried to flash many RUUs that i found but no hopes (maybe i didnt find the right one).
Now the phone stuck at download mode and bootloader mode, can't do anthing else.
Can anyone helps me how to fix this or to find the right RUU for my phone please? Many thanks.

I think you need a new unlock token as when you relocked your bootloader it will need to generate a new one. Follow the unlock bootloader process from the beginning to see if you can unlock it again and go from there. Good luck.

And I can not open that zip file as well, 7zip said it can not open the file as archive. I checked md5 the it matched. I dont know what happen to the file. I afraid the file is corrupted so I downloaded twice to check but still no hope.
Any other suggestions please!!
You can't flash RUUs with fastboot anymore since the M9. They became too big and the normal fastboot isn't able to handle them anymore. Either you use the SD card method which is described in my sheet or you look for htc_fastboot.
As a sidenote: You are aware that RUUs are encrypted and therefore can't get opened the way you normally open archives, aren't you? Winrar isn't able to do so at all and 7-zip has to use "right-click > open > #". Nevertheless you won't have any benefit from opening it.

After doing some stuff i didn't remember, the phone is now Unlocked. I can be able to flash a TWRP 3.0.0 and flash a CandySix ROM. All the process was smooth. The phone can boot normally now. Thank you guys.
However, there is no Sense on CandySix ROM. I really want to upgrade to another ROM with Sense but i can't due to my current firmware. I dont know how to upgrade the firmware for that. I can't make my S-off using Sunshine also. Any suggestions where to start? Thanks.
Did you try the SD card method I described in my google sheet? Or did you download the needed htc_fastboot files if you prefer the command line? I had no problems with flashing the 2.10.710.5 RUU when I created my backups for the SKU 710.
Or did you try to use the TWRP backup guide in my sheet?
Otherwise if you're willing to pay around 20 bucks you could use llabtoofer's RUU service. Either google or use the link in my spreadsheet.

iHave a Sprint HTC One M9 currently stuck in boot loop displaying
"This build is for

lead to legal action."
I'm not sure of the CID nor firmware version(i'm sure it was the latest 3.41.651.4.) iForgot to backup my device before rooting(stupid iKnow.) I've already found the RUU for 3.41.651.4 it's saved to my SD card. iCan still reach bootloader, recovery&download mode, should iJust enter recovery&flash the RUU? iAlso have S-ON. iWould like to relock the bootloader&start the root process anew. iUsed TWRP 3.0.2 as well as Super SU 2.76 during my first initial attempt. I've already tried to lock the device once but when iType adb devices into the command window no device is displayed.
I'm not sure where to go from here. Can someone help?

Question [Solved] Stuck in fastboot with locked bootloader

HI there!
After multiple problems with the custom ROMs I tested, I finally decided to go back to the stock ROM by downloading it from the official thread. I extracted the .tgz archive, run the "flash_all.bat" program, which failed by saying it failed to check the sparse CRC.
So I looked for a solution and finally commented out the line that sent the CRC files to the device at the beginning. The flashing worked fined, but after rebooting I'm now stuck in a bootloop.
I entered fastboot by holding Volume Down + Power and got into it without problem, but when I tried to flash TWRP to install something else, I got the "FAILED (remote: 'Failed to load/authenticate boot image: Load Error')" and after checking, it seems that my bootloader has been re-locked!
So I'm now stuck in fastboot, both the Global and EEA roms won't work, and I can't flash an alternative recovery.
What can I do?
Thanks in advance for your help!
EDIT: I ran the official MiFlash Unlock tool, which tells me my device is unlocked, which is really weird. The "fastboot oem device-info" command indicates: "(bootloader) Device unlocked: true".

Don't flash recovery. Use this command instead:
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
and it will boot into recovery. Then you can install recovery ramdisk.

So I've been able to flash the Xiaomi.EU rom, I'll stick with it for now.
