hi.
this is what i want to achieve. i am interested in making short films using android phone camera,
i have two phones
1. Yu Yureka http://tinyurl.com/jts3vdg (this will be my primary camera) android kit kat
2. Samsung Galaxy s5360 http://tinyurl.com/6hnzk6l android ginger bread. this will be my sound recorder. (it will be hooked with a wired clip mic)
i will place the samsung phone with a person who will be my actor. the mic will be attached to his collar.
i will stand far from him hold the Yureka phone (13.1 mp Camera). to record video.
When i press the camera record in my primary phone (yureka). it should somehow activate the sound recorder in the other samsung phone. at the same time.
and when i stop camera record . it should stop the sound recording too.
How can we achieve this .
Using bluetooth or wifi. using tasker . or whatever.
it will be great if we can achieve this using two phones only . without any 3rd electronic device.
i need this because the camera cant record sound of the actor from a far away distance. i understand i have to stay within bluetooth range to make connection.
i will separately stitch the sound file and video file using video editing software.
please guide me.

To those of you who have the Note 2 in your hands already, I'm curious what your thoughts are on the mic quality. When recording video, how is the audio? Specifically, imagine recording vid of a live band in a club room.... Is it as bad as previous Samsung mics? Does the Note 2 happen to have built in mic sensitivity settings? Or does it look like it'll require another root/voodoo type setup.
Thanks
Nobody recorded video this weekend?

Bump.
I haven't been anywhere with live/loud music to record (and I imagine others haven't either, hence the lack of responses) but in general usage it seems a little loud so I'm not sure how well it will do with loud music.
For example here's a video I took recently http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDb9mE5cpNY (friend gets a bit loud at 1:50)
However I'm not sure if this is a result of the volume mod in this thread or not as I haven't recorded any videos without it.
Ok thanks,
Seems like a very sensitive mic in this video. I was hoping stock would offer more settings for mic control by now. A little surprised this thread isn't getting much traffic.
Voodoo sound is the perfect fix for my current dev. I guess I'll see if that is or will be an option for note2
Here's another video playing music on my really old, ****ty speakers at max volume: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXGOhIz_7eQ
It did a lot better than I expected, coming from my sgs2 (that mic would distort if you looked at it funny)
audio quality when record a vid or a voice notes
Please if u can fix this thing that it will be so amazing .. i need that cuz i love to go clubbing and recoed vid .. also the mic when i record any song on whatsapp (voice note( is awful... im trying to search for a kernel or a mod to fix this ...

Hi Guys,
I am getting sick and tired from my samsung based rom on my Note 2.
Every samsung based rom I use is becoming unacceptably slow and sluggish after some weeks of use and I would like to give another try to a CM or AOSP based rom.
Now the last time I tried that - I was having two main issues which made me to go back to samsung:
1. Video camera Mic gain - the Mic gain when shooting video was very high and that messed up every video I took, especially when filmeing in a loud environment.
2. Call recording - couldn't find a decent call recorder - on samsung I just need to enable it using Xposed and it works flawlessly.
Are those known issues when using custom roms on Note 2 devices?
Can you tell me if there's a solution for those so I can finally use my phone properly?
Thanks in advance!
I'm trying to use an external mic to record audio at better quality but every app uses the phone's built-in mic for recording. I've tried the following apps.
Stock recorder of OnePlus
Audio recorder by sony
Easy voice recorder
None of these recorder have any separate option to choose external mic attached via 3.5 mm jack. Please help.

I've been able to use an external microphone for recording video with Ooen Camera apk. It sucks though, because you lose the stock features of the in built camera and being able to utilize the extra camera on the rear. I don't know what OnePlus was thinking. A very large majority of people purchasing from them are tech heads (as OnePlus isn't a popular or well known device like Samsung, Pixel and others) and people like me who have YouTube channels and will be using the camera for video content.
They need to address this and hopefully this is fixed in the Plus 6t... Looks like that will be the next OnePlus,I add to my channel's stable of devices.

Hi guys,
since years I'm having issues with camera microphone on LineageOS/Cyanogenmod roms: after 2-3 seconds of video recording I get muffled audio (technically described as audio phasing).
The problem exists since the time of CM 13.x on LG G3, now I'm inheriting it on LineageOS 16 (and previous major releases).
Actually I'm running LineageOS 16.0-20191123 with OpenGapps Stock 9.0 Nano 20191123.
To let you understand what I'm talking about, after 2-3 seconds of video you can hear an "underwater" effect and a lowered volume.
Someone could argue I've not done enough tests, so I list all the apps I've used:
Snap Camera (default with latest LOS)
Snap Camera HDR
OxygenOS Camera Port v8
Modded Google Camera (Tolyan009 6.2.030 TlnNeun v0.6d)
Whatsapp Camera
Facebook Camera
Instagram Camera
Telegram X Camera
Just today the litmus test: I've used ASR sound recorder with Camera Mic as default source, the result is the same while all the other microphone sources have worked properly.
I've attached a zip file with both incriminated sound and video recording, so you can hear what I've described.

Are you affected by this issue? Please, confirm that in thread survey and also in my GitLab ticket with a thumbs up :good:
Thanks in advance.
Hello,
I'm using my mi mix 2 with havoc os 2.9 (android 9), that allows to record AUDIO in stereo, from apps like "hi-q mp3 recorder" if you select "raw source".
As long as I know that this way, this software is using both microphones (one up, and one down) and the recordings are awesome, I want to use a camera that ALSO is able to record audio in stereo.
- Is there a Gcam mod that does that ?
- ... Or any other camera app ?
- ... Or any way to change, e.g., the file /vendor/etc/media_profiles_v1_0.xml to record in stereo ? (already tried to set channels to 2 but it didn't worked)
... And the serious and hard way: I'm a .net + Lua developer, and I'd never made custom roms, so no idea to develop an app in android or even an entire custom rom. I'm assuming that it would be very hard for me to change, debug and made a gcam mod that allows what I want, because, in other words, I don't know where to start ... I prefer a more easy solution.
- Do ALL Android phones follow the same rule to get / set audio configurations ? Is there an 'official documentation' about it ?
Ok, I'm stop asking now (at last! xd) ... Best,
