I use Chuwi hi 12 and flash the Remix OS. I like this except that the minimum brightness is too bright.
I try many dim screen apps and they don't work.
Does anyone know how to solve this?

Hello everybody,
i have a strange bug. My display is flickering on most custom ROMS (CAF-Based and LOS). It's like the display is going on and off like 30 times in a second. Also on the lowest brightness the bottom 30% are complet black. On all OOS-based this problem is not present. So it's not a real hardware defect.
Someone has an idea what can cause this issue?
In case you did not know: The OnePlus3 uses some kind of PWM Pulse-width modulation to regulate its brightness. Test it for yourself: In a completely dark room move your hand very fast over your display. You will see a stutter effect at lower settings.
This is used in many tec devices and is known to be a more cheap implementation.
Back to your problem: Maybe your regulator for the pulse mod is broken?
Did you try a hard reset, meaning re-flashing all the core firmwares?
Hey.
Yes I read about this PWM. I also thought this could be the problem. Perhaps in the CAF Kernel the parameters are different? I've never looked in the source code for kernels. ?
And yes I have reset my phone with the full bricked version from the xda thread. Also tried different firmware versions (but only the nougat ones) with the CAF ROMs. Also tried all OOS versions (include marshmallow) and the problem never occurs there.
Is there perhaps a kernel manager where I can see (and change) some parameters related to the display driver? Only found some color calibrations in EX Kernel manager etc.
did you manage to solved this problem?
if on a custom rom, try disabling "Reduce Power Consumption" in live display settings. Might work, might not but you can try.

Hello,
I am new to this forum and android tweaking. My device Asus Zenfone 2 ze551ml, is currently not rooted.
As I am a novice at this I will be getting someone else to root my device. The only reason I want to do this is to reduce the minimum brightness of the screen.
While searching for available methods on Google, I realized that most of the available apps just add an overlay or mask on the screen instead of actually dimming the hardware light intensity.
I came across an old article for another phone that mentioned changing the variable ro.lcd_min_brightness in the buil.prop file to lower the brightness at the hardware level.
Will this method work for Zenfone 2 ze551ml?
If not, is there any other method to reduce the actual light intensity of the device (and not just add a dark overlay)? Please help.
Hi. Im using Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 with xiaomi.eu 9.9.3 and KangarooX r5.1 kernel installed and I am bothered by automatic brightness which doesn't work well. Brightness set by the phone is too low for me and I need to manually correct it but the worst thing is that after each screen blanking the phone sets the brightness again wrongly.
I asked a friend who have the same phone on the latest official software and the default kernel if it also occurs and he answered yes. Does someone know how to fix it?
its miui's stupidest bug ever and they dont even care to fix it. only solution if you are rooted, just install custoMIUIzer and choose higher minimum brightness value.

Thanks for the suggestion, it fixed the issue for me. What's interesting the algorithm is not to blame apparently - the light sensor is ****ed and dropping to single digit reading even in a relatively bright room if there's no direct lighting shining on it. Just a change of phone angle drops the reading from 400+ lux to single digits...
My note 5 brightness is terrible on automatic I have the note 7 too but the brightness is perfect on that phone.

Thanks i will try it. In miui11 they still didn't fixed that
Hi i have been looking for a module for ed xposed which hopefully can control lowest brightness level. I am on Asop rom on the poco f3 and development is in early stages which means in darker areas the low brightness goes to low. It would be useful if there were a module which can set the lowest brightness to a certain value which the system cannot got lower than e.g 12% I hope this is understood and perhaps ther is already a module available for this but i cant find it.

Thankyou so much its working perfectly just what i needed.
I spoke to soon left the phone overnight and in the morning brightness very minimal again. I guess it stopped working.
Hello everyone
I am searching for a rom that its max screen brightness is as high as miui, I tested arrow os and lineage but all of them had lower screen brightness.
Any ideas?
Someone please PM me the telegram group for poco F3 I can't find it.
