Should i use a guide on rooting the nexus 7 or is king root good for rooting it since i have 6.0.1?

used it was good but it seems with a stupid disconnet problem its kinda useless in my case so it seems im gonna have to use kingroot on my tablet

I have received the OTA 4.1.2 update. My phone was rooted and unlocked. Now after the update, I have lost root. How do I root this build? The Toolkit here only support 4.1.1

The tutorial is outdated , some of those commands are not working.
Anyway for the originator of the topic you can root it with Nexus Root Toolkit v1.5.4 - just choose Android Any Build

what commands dont work? they're a standard set of commands using fastboot and adb.
How can I root a s3 (SPH L710) im currently on 4.1.1 and Im thinking of rooting it, Ive rooted other phones before but they were the one click type of roots. I have a nexus 4 as my main phone but I have this s3 and I have no idea how to root it. Any ideas how I should root it?

Literally, after download installing, select your phone select rooting options, plug in your phone and make sure it is in USB debugging mode (developer options settings) and follow the instructions on screen. Soo easy, and a lot of is automated so install a few other things too.

When I updated from 4.2.1 to 4.2.2 on my GNEX it wiped/lost my root. I want to re-root with Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit which I used before. Is there special/different steps to re-rooting a phone or do I just start from the beginning?

Nope still the same.. You can google: "root Galaxy Nexus 4.2.2" if you want to be sure or want to have a guide..

What I lost was my "root privileges", Files that I disabled are still disabled. The root process is not working. It looks like most of the root files are still there. What I would like to know is how to get my root privileges back. Do I do a do-over from the beginning or just do a part of the procedure?

So i am enjoying my galaxy nexus for over a year now. Had a prety bad experiance with previous phone (sony ericsson xperia x8). Last phone was crap, so i rooted it and and changed rom. I thought i will never want to root my galaxy nexus, but probably the sole reason for me to do it is so i could connect my ps3 controler through bluetooth. I did some research about it with some success but i'm still a bit confused, so i want to ask a few questions about rooting before doing it.
On xperia x8 the rooting came before unlocking bootloader, on galaxy nexus as i see it is the other way around ? Back in the days when i had x8 there was a lot of warnings everywhere that i can brick my phone, but as i read about galaxy nexus rooting i dont find much warnings, is it any safer ? There is a toolkit i found called Nexus Root Toolkit by WugFresh that would do about every thing that i need to root it, but is it safe to use ? There is another guy who asked about how to root galaxy nexus and another guy said that he shouldnt trust the toolkit and that flashing custom recovery is safer. Also, does rooting somehow depend on my phones date of assembly or any nuber behind the batery just like it did on xperia x8 if i remember corectly?

that toolkit is good to go... no problems when using it.
custom recovery included in that toolkit. twrp preferred..

I also had Xperia X8 before Galaxy Nexus and I know what are you worried about. First of all, every Galaxy Nexus can be unlocked and rooted easily (it doesn't depends on manefacturing date as on X8). All you need to do is Unlock bootloader via fastboot and install custom recovery (TWRP or CWM) and flash SuperSU zip through recovery. As it's Nexus device, it's really easy. There are many tutorials around, so it shouldn't be a problem
