Any Nougat tweak to use volume long press skip track? - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I'm running nougat 7.0, rooted and I'm searching for an app or some workaround to use long press on volume to skip track. On marshmallow I was using gravitybox but now on nougat I have to wait till xposed it's compatible.
Any ideas?

Download Pocket Skip Track from the playstore. Works great !!!

Is there another solution? The app does not work for me.
Also I like the idea that the system manages the keys and not any custom app
that (maybe) depends on some workarounds and API trick to manage this.
A flashable zip would be awesome!

[HELP] Boot loop after updating Greenify and Xposed Framework while running on ART

Here's the thing:
- I love Greenify and I really update mine regularly...so I tried to update whilst on Android ART
- I have the xposed framework at my disposal with my stock (rooted) Nexus 7 2013 4.4
- I updated and then I installed/update the thing in the first menu of the xposed framework and then from there I pressed "soft reboot"
Now it doesn't want to proceed to my launcher or anything. It's a soft-brick.
Any help/tip is appreciated.
Can you get into Safe Mode? If so you can try and remove the app, etc.
Can't post the link so:
Reboot to safe mode
If you’re experiencing issues - such as apps crashing, reboots, or fast battery drain - on your device, they could be caused by a third-party app. To check if this is the case, you can start up your device in safe mode, which temporarily disables third-party apps that you’ve installed.
Ensure your device's screen is on, then press & hold the Power button.
Touch & hold the Power off option in the dialog box.
Touch OK in the following dialog to start safe mode.
Try using your device in safe mode to see if the problem persists. If it doesn't, restart your device to get it out of safe mode and uninstall recently installed apps to see if you can pinpoint the one that’s causing the problem.
Xposed doesn't support KitKat yet. Sure you might be able to install the framework but modules have no effect. The developer is waiting for his N5 to arrive before working on a fix so sit tight and keep an eye on this thread for updates: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401

I haven't tried it on the N7 but on the N4 it installed but no modules worked. But the solution for now is just don't use Xposed until a 4.4 version becomes available.

Well according to the play store page of Greenify, the reason why i wanted to update is because they released a supposed to be new xposed patch for 4.4 android art users which is what i used. Had to dirty flash the rom to get this running again ugh. :/
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Use the old version of Greenify...that's what I'm doing.
I also had to flash the ROM again.....lost my progress of lots of games.........:-/

Navigation Bar tweaks on rooted H815 Lollipop 5.1

hey,
I rooted my phone with the low effort method (because of locked BL) and used this image as my pre-rooted image. Everything worked, but now I want to change the navigation bar size/height, it's a bit too small.
I searched the thread, but people say to look at the first post there, which was edited or something, because it doesnt say anything about changing navbar size. It seems in order to change navbar DPI, I need to flash a new navbar using FlashFire? Are there no working Xposed modules to do that? I tried Gravity Box, but that didn't work.
Is it possible to change dpi for navigation bar only using texdroider DPI?
I use the 5.3.3 version of gravitybox (5.3.4 didn't work for me with the longpress-switch audio tracks) and tested, I was able to adjust the height of the navbar easily. I actually shrink mine down to 75% but it should work.

You used the same pre-rooted image? Version 10e?
If so, maybe I'm doing something wrong in Xposed or Gravity Box. Sry, first time rooted Android :/
Whats the procedure here, exactly? I go to xposed, download Gravity Box, activate it in xposed under "modules", reboot the phone, go into Gravity Box -> navigation bar, activate the main switch at the top and adjust the bar height. Nothing changes, even after a reboot. Am I doing this wrong?
Edit: got it to work. Not sure what the issue was, what I did differently this time was downloading 5.3.3 instead of 5.3.4 and I rebooted a 2nd time after activating the main switch at the top of navigation bar settings.

How did you managed to install xposed? I'm using rooted 5.1 v10c version and when trying to install xposed it says to me that xposed is not compatible with android sdk version 22 or my processor architecture. What can I do?

You are trying to install Xposed, not the XposedInstaller.apk, right? I dont really know what this error is, but it sounds like you are missing the actual Xposed framework on your phone. You have to install the framework first, then the installer.apk.
I followed this guide:
joined the beta group, downloaded FlashFire from Google Play store (it says it can take up to several hours until the link works for you, I just had to refresh and it worked after a few seconds)
downloaded the xposed-v79-sdk22-arm64.zip and XposedInstaller.apk, put them both in a folder on external SD (can be placed anywhere on the phone)
installed Xposed using FlashFire
after phone rebooted, installed XposedInstaller.apk and I was done.
edit: I should also mention Im on 10e, but that's hardly the issue. Im sure it works on 10c also. If not, you could flash a new firmware (10e) on it, you will lose root though and will have to redo it. Xposed is powerful and root is not the same without it, in my opinion, so I would really want to have it.
Short guide what you could do:
flash 10e using this guide (I used the Poland H81510e KDZ)
download this pre-rooted 10e image
follow the low effort guide and use the dd command from the 10e image

Lost Advanced Options on Long Press

So I recently updated to Oxygen 5.0.1 and ever since then I haven't been able to use advanced options when I long press an app. I used to have a variety of options including uninstall, but now those aren't working.
I'm not sure what I was on before this, but it was official from OnePlus, I just can't recall if it was a beta build or not. It was Android 8.0.0 and it still is.
I'm going to be romming it soon anyway, but I was curious as to why I lost those options.
You mean when on stock launcher and you long press an app? There's a small round with "i" in it, press that to go to that app option for clear cache or uninstall.

LG G6 - Viper4Android setup (HELP)

I'm trying to get Viper4Android setup on the G6 however after every time i flash V4A and reboot, every process on my phone starts stopping.
Everything from clock to the Always on Display and then later something called LDB before the phone shuts down.
It works fine again after rebooting with the volume down + power button, but V4A doesn't work at all.
Any help would be appreciated, as i have no idea how to get V4A setup properly
Thanks

Which root solution are you using?
Magisk
And I've encountered a much worse problem than V4A
Now Xposed is refusing to work. I've tried setting it up anyway i could think of but the phone either reboots as soon as it starts into an infinite boot or everything starts "Stopping"
I think you may have a broken installation.
I am currently in Oreo and i have Magisk + Viper working just fine, nothing more needed that install the module and restart the phone. As you also have problems with other modules, is better check the magisk installation first.
same trouble
installed magisk v 16.4, everything is good
when flashing viper4android fx 1.6.9 - "unable to extract zip file" "Failed!" "Installation failed"
solved
flashed magisk 16.0 and everything works very well

Try reinstalling/reflashing ROM, I had 7.0 with Magisk 16.4, v4a, and xposed (systemless) working, as well as having 8.0 with the same things rn.

Android Q: Viper4android compatible?

I've been trying to get viper4android working on Android q for quite some time but the module and the app itself does not want work at all. Plus when viper asks you to install the driver from the app it will end up in a bootloop. Has anybody found a temp workround for it?
Device: Pixel 2 XL Android version: Q Beta 3
I'm having a similar issue, only the driver install is asked again upon reboot ;_;
Thats only why i rollback from Q.
Total**** sound without
Ok, got it working on beta 3, using the apk 2.7.1.0 from XDA. It appears to install as a magisk module, along with AML. It didn't work on my first try, then all was good. I need to run it in compatibility mode from the menu. https://labs.xda-developers.com/store/app/com.pittvandewitt.viperfx
In android P what version did you use?
Always used the magisk repo version before- I tried this many times on Q, with and without AML, but always got the dreaded install driver dialogue. Also tried SE Linux permissive, but no luck. I've never used the apk before, but am sat here now listening to music quite happily. It's survived a couple of reboots (just checking).

Hm, I just tried that. I downloaded the one off XDA LABS and checked compatibility mode on the app. Still showing up as driver not installed. Viper4Android is literally the key element for my phones such a good module.
Try another reboot?

I just upgraded to Android 10 on my Pixel 2XL and have Viper running now. Download stable 2.7.1.0 from XDA Labs, grant root with Magisk. Check compatibility mode THEN install the driver. Restart, make changes, and then be sure to check "Attach audio effects" in settings once you make your changes.

Ok, here's what you gotta do to get it to work, this is the ONLY method I've had consistently work for me from beta 3-public release(did it an hour ago and worked perfectly)
First, uninstall any viper you have also make sure you completely uninstall audio modification library if you have it installed, not disable, uninstall it and reboot after uninstalling what I've listed.
After you're all booted back up, install viper from labs (link in this thread)(Also, forget about compatibility mode, don't use it) now open viper but do NOT install the driver yet, just open the application then go to magisk and install audio modification library but dont let magisk reboot the phone after it installs. Once installation completed, go back to viper and install the driver and let it reboot. Once booted, go straight to magisk and DISABLE audio modification library (uncheck the box next to it if you dont get what I mean) don't uninstall it. After disabling AML head back to viper and install the driver again. Now once rebooted is the moment of truth, if you open viper and its installed you're obviously done but if it's not installed you have to take this next step: don't install the driver just yet, go to magisk and re-enable AML then back to viper and install the driver. I don't see why this would not work for you guys, I know this isn't the easiest tutorial to follow but make sure you follow it to a T, if you mess any step up you need to start from scratch and uninstall both AML and viper and start again.
Good luck guys and may the audiophile Gods be on your side through this process!

Take a bow good sir, it worked! Had to follow the steps to the end as first time around it didn't work. Now seems to be alright (see attached)
For anyone else wondering, I upgraded from Aug 9.0 build to Q (020) last night by flashing the factory ROM without wipe. Rooted, ads disabled and now ViperFX working. Life is goooood

@1dopewrx05 I followed your mini tutorial to a T and it worked perfectly. Thank you for taking the time to do this, I really appreciate it. Just updated my old faithful to 10 earlier and gonna mess around with some of the neat features. I can't live without Viper, it's essential to me.
